How terrifying for all those present, just out having a good time. Sounds like the shooter may have been taken on some of the patrons of the club? Thoughts are with all those impacted by this.

Today is transgender day of rememberance too. I'm not saying this is connected, just pointing it out.

A cruel irony is that this happened less than an hour before the start of tye annual observation of the Transgender Day of Remembrance (Nov. 20).

Tragic event.

Like Austin, TX, where I have also lived and has more than doubled in size in the same time frame, crime increases come with expansion. Murder is so common there now, it's truly scary. <modsnip>

Find the perp(s) and adjudicate their crimes.

Work to prevent mass shootings in our nation. They need to stop no matter where they occur & no matter who the victims are.

This is so heartbreaking. When is enough hate and mass shootings enough? How do we stop this?

Live updates.

  • At least five people were killed and 18 others wounded in a shooting at an LGBTQ nightclub in Colorado Springs, Colorado, according to police.
  • Authorities say the suspect is in custody and receiving medical treatment.
  • Little is known about how the shooting ended, but the club credited "heroic customers that subdued the gunman" in a statement early Sunday.
  • Investigators have not publicly speculated on a motive for the shooting, but the club's statement swiftly condemned it as a "hate attack."

Just going to say it. 99% sure this was a hate crime. So many people these days are concerned with things that don’t affect their lives in any way. Nothing to do with the city in which the event took place. It’s people who have hate and ugliness in their hearts. The state of this country right now is embarrassing. Here’s to hoping hypocrites stay in their own lane. I’m sending love and positive vibes to all affected by this senseless act.

As always, you can control a situation for almost everything but the lone 'nut.'

Colorado governor: Mass shooting at Club Q is "sickening"

From CNN's Michelle Watson

Colorado Gov. Jared Polis, the nation's first openly gay governor, called the deadly Club Q mass shooting in Colorado Springs "sickening."
“This is horrific, sickening, and devastating. My heart breaks for the family and friends of those lost, injured, and traumatized in this horrific shooting," Polis said in a statement, according to his office.
"I have spoken with Mayor Suthers and made it clear that every state resource is available to local law enforcement in Colorado Springs. We are eternally grateful for the brave individuals who blocked the gunman likely saving lives in the process and for the first responders who responded swiftly to this horrific shooting. Colorado stands with our LGTBQ community and everyone impacted by this tragedy as we mourn together.”

I wonder why this individual was never formally charged. It sounds like it was a very serious event.

Authorities would not comment on any past criminal history for Anderson Aldrich. There is no ongoing court case listed for Anderson Aldrich in Colorado court records. No formal charges were ever filed, and the case was sealed, so it’s not clear why, Gazette.com reported.

That's crazy! When and why was the case sealed? Imo.
