Found Deceased CO - Adam Gilbertson, 29, Denver, 14 Dec 2017

(O/T: and jumping off your post, thinking of Aravind's case (found deceased in a Park Pond) not too long ago:

"Elangovan walked away from his home in the 1400 block of Harvard Street about 11 p.m. March 31 and hadn’t been heard from since. He didn’t have a car, a wallet or a cellphone, officials said.

The Longmont Police Department said Elangovan often frequented parks in northwest Longmont and the MT Sanitas trail west of Boulder.

He attended Brown University in Providence, R.I., and might have been trying to return there.

It is unknown why or how Aravind made his way to Golden Ponds and how or why he was in the water."

OMG :( I remember this and never heard that they found him. I found it was ruled an accidental drowning most likely due to drug use. Shoot. And I know this area well, I volunteered there planting trees. It's pretty wide open, but you'd have to be on the trail to see where he was.

Back to Adam, he seems fond of the lakes at Wash Park. That area is super busy though with runners and dog walkers, you'd think something would have been found by now. I wonder if they've considered taking dogs out?

I'm sure DPD is on it, but I just did another aerial view and it looks like Wendy's and Taco Bell are on the west side of Broadway. Wendy's is open until 1am and Taco Bell is open until 2am. A pretty likely stop for anybody out and planning on heading home. Hopefully they have more footage of him by now.

I was considering the suggestion that Adam drove home from Syntax; however, that would seem more likely if his jacket and hat were found inside his house. Those items presumably were last seen on his person. I understand he may have put those items back on, once home; and then disappeared, but I still think he walked to Syntax, and then left on foot in another direction. It would help if we knew from which direction he arrived to Syntax (that may clear up the did he drove vs. walked).

Welcome ProfessorFox.

Yes! Food would make sense. I know that's first on my mind after the bar...

As we know time is of essence on retention of surveillance footage. I reaaallly hope DPD is doing this (checking those places).

Eta: maybe someone should go post flyers there...that way the employees can also see it...

Anyone super close?

What about IHOP, breakfast places? Anything else within walking distance?

Maybe he went to visit with a neighbor...

Do we know how long he has lived there?

Hopefully LE will have a strong lead when the phone/electric comes back! Should be in now or soon!!

I wish LE would comment on when/where dogs have been implemented.

I learned from Dylan's case there are specially trained dogs who can hit on/in water.

What does he say in his IG video after "I love you guys"?

ETA: I was team foul play and team the video is just a video. But I don't know anymore. If it were my loved one, it would feel very significant to me.

I wonder if there have been any withdrawals from his account

I think LE said they would have more information by Monday.

How agonizing for Adam's family to have to wait for this.

So looking at his "house" on google street view, the back alley actually has 6 electric meter boxes. I believe its a 6 unit place which any unusual noises should have been noticed? I live in the area and the walk to Syntax is very easy. I keep hearing when he left syntax, he crossed the street in the opposite direction of his house. To me this means he crossed Broadway which is pretty busy even at 1am and there is no corsswalk by syntax. I don't see why he would park across Broadway when there would be plenty of parking on the syntax side of the street. Also there is way easier neighborhood parking AND syntax has its own parking lot in the back. Crossing Broadway is the strangest thing to me because there is nothing open on that side at 1am. There are some apartment complexes (Denizen) that way where he could have been meeting someone. There is also the river but its incredibly hard to get to because you have to cross the highway unless he walked up to Alemeda. Earlier in the night He was at Triangle (maybe alone?), then Charlie's (alone?) , then Syntax (alone?) so my best guess is he wanted to be social and meet people.

Welcome jayfox. Thank you for the information.

(For list of stops and schedules, not sure any buses would be running that late?).

I want to know more about the water searches and grid searches of the area that have currently been done?
I will do more work on this later. But for now, here is the location of the Greyhound Station from AG's house.

I think Wendy's and Taco Bell close earlier than that on Thursday nights.

Or maybe the convenience store?

I initially thought it was unrelated too, but he has no other videos even remotely of that nature(talking to the camera by himself). I just can’t imagine why someone would think to blow a candle out in a bar and say “I love you guys” - it’s hard for me to dismiss that especially given his phone stopped pinging SO soon after leaving Syntax.

The bar I was at the night Adam disappeared was open until 2am and it was $1.50 taco night there (and my understanding is the food is pretty good there in general), although I can't say I'm positive they serve food all the way until closing. That was about 6 blocks from Syntax and roughly the same from his apartment.

ETA: The place I was at was Historians Ale House

I *think* he says "I love you guys" ~ blows out candle ~ "I really do"

I don't think this plays into Adam's story at all but just a tid bit of useless info.

When I was younger my family had friends that lived in Cannon Falls, MN. We used to go down to Cannon quite frequently to go tubing down the Cannon River. Great fun.

Every summer during August there is a Chicken BBQ/Firemans street dance a few minutes away in Randolph, MN which is where Adam grew up. For many years that dance was the highlight of my summer. I'm not sure what the population back in the 80's/90's was but I believe the current population is less than 500 and I doubt it was any higher back then.

Quite a difference to go from a few hundred population town to a huge city like Denver.

YES! Thank you! Geez why was that so hard for me to figure out?

So, as far as we know he has his phone with him. Why would he power down his phone but then take it with him but leave his keys at home?

Unless his battery died, that would explain it not pinging?

Based upon the IG video he posted, saying "I love you guys, I really do" and then the phone shutting down....this leads me to believe that whatever has happened was at his own making. I strongly believe that DPD is probably drawing the same conclusion (this is IF they do not have other supplemental information that has not been shared). I believe that "third party harm" is much less likely based on what we know. No distress is shown in the IG video, he is alone in Syntax and no suspicious characters visible. If he was in distress, the bartender would have recalled that based on the lack of patronage at the time. I don't believe that the phone mysteriously "died" due to batter life at the EXACT moment he leaves.....way too coincidental to be plausible. He shut it down manually IMO.

His previous FB posts indicate that he is often around Washington Park at sunrise. However, he would most likely have changed clothes if he was out for a "morning routine" run or exercise. The key questions really are: What was at his home? Clothing missing? Cell phone charger? Etc....

DPD most likely has the numbers he last called and texted and are following up on that information. I am just not sure what data is saved by dating/hook up apps that can be later accessed by LE. That could be the key here and not sure that information is readily available. These apps operate on anonymity and probably don't save a lot of crucial information IMO.

Unfortunately, because DPD is being VERY tight lipped about this, it makes me curious as to what they know/don't know. Why have we not had statements or updates directly from DPD asking for public help? This is very unusual in missing cases, unless they are aware of something very specific.

Sorry, I don't mean to ramble....just thinking like a cop again!

Greyhound and other carriers (train, air services) require photo ID to book even with cash payment. I’m certain all carriers have been checked by DPD for his possible travel via these carriers. RTD doesn’t run at 1:00 am. So that is not plausible. Public transport would be cab or ride service. All which have turned up nothing bases on what we know.
