I have a question. Why in the world did he go to trial? The evidence was overwhelming. Well, he has proved that he is a complete idiot, so there's that.
sheer arrogance and narcissism.

Sentencing has started. Someone is reading something, but the sound is so bad I can’t make much of anything out.
It’s her older brother. I couldn’t understand him when he read his prepared statement, but now he’s adding some remarks and it seems a lot louder.
He was 17 when she was born, remembers changing her diapers and how cute and precocious she was. He calls her Angie and his baby sister. Very heartbreaking to listen to his grief.

I notice there is no tears from his eyes, as these statements are read.

Rick Pray is speaking for his brother, Mike, the oldest of 10 siblings.

He talks about growing up with Angela and their family dynamic, stating that their family motto was “love makes our house a home.” He claims that an older sibling said “Angela saved him.”

“There’s a hole in the fabric of our family that cannot be filled,” he said.

Rick is now speaking for himself, the third sibling of the family.

Rick mentioned that Angela was “always there for somebody who needed her.” He finished his statement, saying to James Craig that he should tell his parents the whole story and apologize to them “so they do not have to suffer and wonder about anything.”

Some of the jurors who are sitting in the back of the courtroom are crying after hearing emotional remarks from family members.

So far, some of Angela Craig’s siblings and children have told the court about who their sister and mother was. They recalled the abuse and betrayal Angela Craig, and the entire family, endured at the hands of James Craig, who was convicted of poisoning and killing her in 2023.

After the victim impact statements conclude, the judge will impose a sentence on Craig

Older sister: 'I adored her from the beginning'

Angela’s older sister is speaking to the court about Angela.

She said that the family did not expect James Craig to ” callously and cruelly take her life” and that she will “walk away from this courthouse and never look back.”

She says that “losing a sibling is like losing a limb.”

What a heartbreaking saga! It looks like defense didn't even have any argument for the sentencing - I guess it's a foregone conclusion that he would get LWOP so they saved their breaths. But usually the defense lawyers say SOMETHING anyway. I don't blame these lawyers for just peacing out.

RIP Angela.

Lauren was live for the verdict.
Towards the end of video you'll see/hear Angela's brother/sister and daughter give their victim statements.
They're very difficult to hear but the judge addressing JC is clear,
You'll see a bit of JC, his face is mostly blocked and then him getting handcuffed.
The court's audio was the problem.

I wish she had left him at her first inclination to, but having prosecuted DV, I understand the cycle of violence and how hard it is to break away from it. I hope this case helps even one woman get away from their own nightmare. Praying for Angela, her kids, and extended family tonight.

Condolences to Angela's loved ones. I hope they can focus on their lovely memories with her and leave the murderer in the rear view window. Godspeed, Angela.

Thank you, jury members and judge, for delivering this verdict and sentence.

There are cases that I wish I could be a member of the jury in deciding guilt. I didn't have that need in this case. I knew the jury would get it right (without my help).
