I checked Wheat Ridge Colorado missing persons and he isn't even listed. I put in the case number and it comes back as unknown. Perhaps the baby was found?

The case was only added to NamUs in August, 2019. So there isn't a whole lot of information out there about this baby. I don't think he has been found.

So sorry for your loss. I saw a memorial for him on Ancestry. Do you want to share any information on his disappearance?

Abrahm vanished from Wheatridge Lutheran Medical Center at 3:30 pm on November 25, 1970. I was told he was 'stillborn'. His newborn nursery record says quite the opposite. Hospital records are incomplete. The "fetal death certificate" did not exist at Arapahoe Dept of Vital Statistics in 1972. Many attempts to find Abe have had no success. The OB that delivered him was forced to surrender his license in 1999 for seven counts of substandard care of infants and laboring mothers and incompetent surgeries as a GYN. These charges were brought against him by the Colorado Attorney General. Colorado state law states that all bodies over 1 pound in weight MUST be cremated or buried. There is no cremation or burial order on file in the State of Colorado for him. I was from out of state during this time; I attended a private 'unwed mothers home' near Arvada. I was kept sedated for three days after Abe's birth and was relocated to the Bone and Joint floor, far away from the OB department. Thanks for the interest in Abrahm. My son counted. He was NOT disposable.

Abrahmsmother, I am so sorry you were taken advantage of at the unwed mothers’ home. Because it sounds like your baby was stolen. I cannot imagine your heartache then, and now.

I’m sure you’ve tried many avenues to find information. One that might be extremely helpful is to somehow get an investigative reporter involved, as any publicity about your case would be very beneficial. National exposure would be best, but starting local (Colorado, specifically Arvada) is a good place to begin. Yours is probably not an isolated case, I imagine other unwed mothers there were told their babies were stillborn, especially those women who were not from the area.

Shoot for the moon. Petition a respected, nationally well-known journalist to take on your story. You’ve nothing to lose by starting at the top to find someone to help you investigate and find answers.

Other, more knowledgeable WS members might know: would Abrahmsmother be able to petition for any and all existing records via the Freedom of Information Act?

Publicizing your story would hopefully bring other women forward who had the same experience at this home that you had. Strength in numbers, and who knows what information others might hold.

And also, if Abrahm is still alive, he might hear of your story. Over the years, he might have had questions or concerns about his family history that haven’t been answered or addressed by his kidnapper.

I wish you well with your journey, and hope I haven’t offended you with any of my suggestions, as I don’t know what you’ve already done or tried. My prayers go with you.

Very well said with good ideas, I too think this could be a kidnapping. One other thought is to put your DNA in some site like Ancestry etc. perhaps there could be a match one day. Abrahmsmother I hope we can support you in your quest.

Sorry to hear , so very painful for you. How many weeks were you when he was born?

@AbrahmsMother , you have taken huge steps looking for your son! You have government documents supporting your theory, the doctor who delivered your son was found dangerously incompetent.

I do agree with @windrower , this probably happened to other Moms using the home in Arvada. An investigative reporter interested in the story -- other Moms with unrecorded stillbirths -- that's a big story.

I hope that your baby boy was adopted by caring couple unaware that you were tricked.

23&Me or Ancestry might be very interesting!

No experience, but have you read & posted here:

Adoptee & birth parent search

With your thorough records search, you've probably posted on all the listed sites?

I think this one is not government related?

Colorado Adoption Records – Find My Family
(ETA: okay, just found you on this one!)

Best to you & your little boy, Laughing

And I did not live at the unwed mothers home. Some special arrangements were made for me. I was the only nonresidential girl tht went to school there. I lived in a home rented by my parents for the three months before delivery. Abrahm's case is one of the oldest cases in Colorado for a missing child.

I am so very sorry this happened to you and your baby.
There are many stories coming out now (I see them on Facebook) about babies and toddlers disappearing from hospitals and parents being told they had passed away, and weren't allowed to see them. So many such stories from decades ago, from different countries.
Not enough is being done about it, IMO.

So
He was not premature, only if your comfortable answering what reason did they tell you his reason for being stillborn, and was it a difficult birth? I’m aware this is a sensitive issue and I definitely do not want to step over any boundaries, please share only what want to.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. Do you think the doctor took Abrahm and gave him to a couple? If that's the case, there's a good chance he's still alive. WS is such an amazing resource, I bet lots of people here can help.

I was born in 1977, and my mother was single at the time (she and my father later married). She told me that her OB told her when she was pregnant with me that she should put me up for adoption because it was selfish to have a child as a single mother. Luckily she didn't listen to him. And I guess I'm also lucky he didn't take matters into his own hands.

It was all a rise. The OB would not allow anyone to see Abe's "body" as he had "multiple birth defects". The newborn nursery records says Abnormalities: None Noted. At least the delivery room nurse told the truth. This guy would go on to ruin lives, endanger mother's and babies, and end up quite wealthy, even having his own clinic. In the end, I guess shoddy practices, greed and arrogance will be the thing that demolished his life. He left Colorado a few years ago and is living in Arizona. Googling his current address reveals he lives in a virtual COMPOUND behind high walls out in a desert like area. My experience was the best of times and the worst of times. When I am asked "why do you search for missing people you don't even know?" I say, because I know what it like to have a missing child. I search for others out of honor for Abraham...I was the only person who cared. Be well, all ...

Not a difficult birth per SE, but I was kept extremely sedated, I lost three days following Abe's birth. All I have is memories, although I, or no one, was allowed to see him. There was a reason for that.
