Another thought, it takes a real sicko to MOVE a body. I knew he was sick and twisted already because of what he had done and tried to hide. I could see it being a heat of the moment thing if he found out she was talking to the guy, but going back later to move her body is really twisted.

Sick, and stupid. The idiot. Every time you interact with the body, you just create more evidence that you didn’t even realize at the time. Every crime show I’ve ever watched. From using the BAM, which he had to know was highly unusual and incriminating, to multiple body locations, this guy is just too stupid. But I will repeat. Suzanne was basically leaving him because he was/is non-reachable, had no serious side for her.
For instance she asked him to be home more when they moved to Colorado and instead he joined the volunteer fire department (which is super time demanding.)
The daughters, especially the older one know no other way a Dad is.

Suzanne also said he would leave for days at a time and his phone would be turned off. She never knew where he was. Who does that?!

Barry Morphew indicted on murder charges in the death of his wife Suzanne Morphew

A grand jury handed down a first-degree murder charge against Barry Morphew and he was arrested in Arizona Friday.

"Federal, state and local law enforcement have never stopped working toward justice for Suzanne,” said Twelfth Judicial District Attorney Anne Kelly in the release. "The Twelfth Judicial District Attorney’s Office stands in solidarity with Suzanne’s family and the citizens of Chaffee and Saguache counties in pursuing the grand jury’s indictment."

Suzanne Morphew’s family had hoped that 2025 would bring an arrest in the murder case, which seemed doomed when it was dismissed in April 2023.

"I've been patient with the investigation and I have great confidence in Anne Kelly and the rest of the prosecutorial team," said Suzanne's sister, Melinda Moorman Balzer.

Balzer said Kelly called the family and informed them of the arrest before sending the news release.

Morphew's attorney, David Beller of Recht Kornfeld, told The Denver Gazette his client maintains his innocence.

"Yet again, the government allows their pre-determined conclusion to lead their search for evidence," Beller said. "Barry maintains his innocence. The case has not changed and the outcome will not either."

They didn’t have to search for this evidence. Once her body was found, the BAM was sitting there waiting for them.

Can you believe this great news?!!

BM waived extradition late last night so this means Colorado has 30 days to collect him in AZ and transport him to Alamosa.

We are in for a bit of a learning curve because BM was Indicted by a GJ which means he's not entitled to a Preliminary Hearing. GJ Indictments are rare in Colorado -- most defendants are arrested/charged by Information & Complaint.

BM will probably be arraigned shortly after he arrives in Colorado, and this will probably start the 21-day discovery clock for the State to begin delivering the goods they have on BM to his defense attorney.

So in the next 30 days I will be looking in the Alamosa Court records to see if he is there yet! Unless of course someone posts an article and it says "when"!

I don't know the answer but I have wondered if he availed himself a snowbird neighbor's long parked vehicle, which might have had a dead battery. If Barry switched batteries and switched them back, maybe that would create some glitches?

I can't imagine he's a got any real technosavvy.

He was an avid hunter, known for slinging deer carcasses over his shoulder and transporting them. He was familiar with killing living beings, and then "processing" them. I think it was premeditated. It worked pretty well, really - he got extra years of freedom. He's too stupid for his own good, though, as the body itself led investigators to these conclusions.

The metabolized BAM in her long bones (I'm assuming long bones) is the smoking gun.

If I'm understanding properly, he moved her almost immediately after tranquilizing her. He messed with the truck's telemetrics somehow? Or used that other available vehicle?

That part of it is still cloudy to me - any insight from anyone would be appreciated.

Yeah -- to him, she was just another carcass at this point. But letting the mother of his children decompose somewhere and then move the remains?? How detached and monstrous do you have to be to do such a thing? Aaaaack.

After putting the BAM in his hands, the key point seems to be demonstrating that she was injected while alive. That is proven because her body had begun to metabolize the drug.

What exactly happened? He murdered her and hid her body, but then for some unknown reason decided that her body should be found wearing biking clothing. Was he afraid that BAM would be detected in soft tissue or hair so he waited until she was nothing but bones, not realizing that BAM would be found in her bone marrow? Did he assume that locating her body in biking clothing would clear him? Did he assume that investigators would speculate that animals took her hair?

Did he put her body near her house because he wanted it to be found and so the children could move on?

Logically you’d think the timing may have been connected to the house sale, but I can’t believe they wouldn’t have found her if so before that.

I can’t get past him presumably dressing her skeleton remains in her biking clothes. That would be utterly depraved.

Did it state she was dressed or just that her clothing was found with her? Maybe she wasn't wearing anything when he killed her. Maybe he just tossed the missing bike clothing in with her body. Maybe she never even had it on. What if the clothing is that teal colored item that he may have been spotted with at the hotel.
