Typically it is illegal to base these types of business decisions on any arrest records as arrests do not necessary make a person guilty - charges can be dropped and presumption of innocence applies. With that said the only criminal record is the voter fraud so far for BM.

It might be illegal but they absolutely do base their decisions on charges alone and not just convictions. But yes, I almost forgot that this is his only criminal conviction.

I’m wondering if BM (perfect initials for him) could have moved Suzanne’s body to Moffat, knowing it would eventually be found, in order to provide some closure for their daughters. I think he’s cold hearted, don’t get me wrong, but I wonder if seeing his daughters grieve for their missing mother finally got to him. (Either because he actually loves them and it bothered him to see them suffer, or simply because he was annoyed by their grief.) There is no closure with a missing loved one, so perhaps he hoped their daughters would move through their grief faster if they had definitive proof that their mom was deceased.

Obviously, if he truly loved them, he wouldn’t have killed their mother…

For this, we have to assume that he is able to empathize with others, but I am not sure that this trait is strong in Barry. Not to judge, simply, some people can put themselves in others’ shoes, others, not.

Lauren Scharfe thought it would be later this week or early next week and that she would be told. Not sure if that meant when he begins his journey back or when he would be arriving in Colorado.

Let's all remember that Linda Stanley wasn't the only problem child on the first case.

Ramsey Lama was equally horrible at his job, and arguably did more damage than Stanley to the prior case, as the judge wields more power than the prosecution in the courtroom.

Attorney pundits were surprised that the DA's office didn't appeal his over-the-top sanctions, which included barring almost all of the state's expert witnesses. (Turns out, they had their reasons for not appealing, i.e., they intended to drop the charges in a final effort to find Suzanne's body).

Lama showed clear bias toward the defense, which was no surprise, considering he quit his position on the bench to go back to being a defense attorney immediately on the heels of torpedoing this case.

Worst judge I've ever seen, and that includes Lance Ito, who previously held that title.

I do so hope Lama's comments are broadcast far and wide and come back to haunt him !! In my opinion, he was far too supportive of Iris.

He's waived extradition and it has to be within 30 days, that's all we know so far.

I think it will be well before the 30 days is up.

*ETA: Based on the new paperwork filed that @Ontario Mom posted above, he's either back in CO now or will be imminently, IMO.

Not really - courts run pretty strictly. There are deadlines and timelines for everything that are set by the court and agreed to by both sides and failure to meet deadlines set by the court are not looked at lightly. In a preliminary a judge must look at the states evidence in the most favorable manner. Trials are slightly different and judges must remain only the caretakers of what is happening in the court and the state must prove their case. The state was given several extensions after failing to meet deadlines but it never stopped and they never got organized. I don't expect to see the same level of disorganization by the state in this upcoming trial.

I vigorously disagree. In hindsight Judge Lama did the state a favor. I do not think they would have gotten a unanimous verdict by a jury from the original case.
