Found Deceased CO - BARRY ARRESTED AGAIN - Suzanne Morphew, 49, Chaffee Co, 10 May 2020 *Case dismissed w/o prejudice* *found in 2023* #117

Thank you @Cindizzi-- I knew you'd have it sooner than later and here it is! ;)
I actually wasn’t looking for it right now lol.
I put SM’s name and the word coffee in the Twitter search bar and it came up!
I’m looking for Tweets from the PH about a half empty cup of coffee found by the kitchen sink when LE searched the Puma Path home. I remember Iris and Dru made a big deal of it.

If he was not fit to preside over the case then he should not have taken it on.
The bias he showed was painfully obvious.
I actually think if all the experts had been permitted to give evidence in a trial ,then there was a very good chance of Barry being found guilty.
We all knew Barry was guilty from very early on from all the evidence available to us.
I disagreed with most of (nearly all?) Lama's decisions and I found his reasoning to be superficial and his reliance on defense counsel's arguments to be unprofessional.

But I do not see him or Eytan as the problem with the 11th JD's case. Eytan was just doing her job, advocating a perspective (with which I also disagree). Lama at least gave prosecutors a long time and many opportunities to get their discovery act together, before penalizing them by excluding witnesses.

I believe that in the end, what he saw was a serious case being jeopardized by a disorganized prosecution team. He had no authority, in the circumstances, to dismiss the case with prejudice himself. Only the DA could do that.

Lama had to know his exclusion order would force Stanley to dismiss the case. He readily did so on Stanley's motion, and he totally ignored Eytan's plea that the charges be dismissed with prejudice.

In the final analysis, I agree with those who see his final orders as saving the case for future prosecution.

Defense shows Undersheriff a picture of a half-full coffee cup next to the kitchen sink. Defense says #SuzanneMorphew is an avid coffee drinker and that #BarryMorphew doesn't drink coffee. Undersheriff said he didn't investigate that.

A white coffee cup was sitting on the kitchen counter that was half-full next to the sink. The undersheriff said it was out of the ordinary because it wasn't clean

#SuzanneMorphew always had a cup of coffee in the morning. According to the defense, #BarryMorphew has never had a cup of coffee.

At approx. 5am MG heard BM truck outside her house. I hope the investigators consider the possibility that BM may have taken BM truck without permission and later returned it. MOO
To correct that BM may have (stolen and returned ) MG truck to move the body and to ‘prove’ that hid truck was nowhere near a body, if found. - A guess and MG would have to leave her keys in the truck. I can’t think of a valid reason why he would sit outside an employees house at 5am.

Awesome thanks!
That’s what it was. That LE didn’t do forensics on it. So of course we’ll never know if the kidnappers drugged her. <sarcasm>

The kidnappers that grabbed her from her home and then staged a bike crash.
They were throwing so many theories out there!

Barry would know where all the "free" dumpsters are... good chance there were some by her.

I hate quoting my own post, but just still thinking on the bones and missing shoes. I was thinking it wasn't as unusual that there were missing feet because there are other missing bones-- but this actually is just as weird because there was no predation. At first, I was assuming well, there may have been predation at an earlier time. But just looked it up and they can tell based on all those bones recovered if there was predation.

Not liking to be so graphic, but is it possible that there was indeed predation to some extent and the bones were moved in part for that reason? And that's why there is not a complete skeleton? I have no idea if that is possible.
What seems more likely to me is that he cut off her feet to fit her into a cooler of sorts.

A store manager at the Poncha Market recalled what she described as a “weird” encounter with Morphew, just a few days after Suzanne was reported missing.

“Somebody knocked on the window and it was Barry Morphew,” Tiffany Butala said, at the time.

She said Morphew created a sort-of missing poster, regarding Suzanne, on the back of a receipt.

The manager at Poncha Market said Barry Morphew wrote this note on May 12, 2020.

“He went to write down a description of maybe what she was wearing,” Butala said. “I just thought it was weird because he didn’t explain what the color of her eyes were or her hair or anything about her, like how tall she was or anything.”

Bbm.
Agreed, neither can I !

That is classic stalker-ish behavior right there.

I'd be interested in what MG has to say about Barry's behavior before Suzanne died ?
Did BM have any dalliances that the employees knew about ?
Only because your workers sometimes get to know quite a lot about you and your behaviors.

Was BM sitting outside her house to intimidate her, and did she know something that was making him uneasy ?
So many questions.
Imo.

I love to see Lauren Scharf is still following this story and reporting on it. She was one of the few and key reporters that wouldn't let Suzanne's story get lost. @Cindizzi thank you for you reporting as well. @Seattle1 thank you as well!

IMO Lauren has met with some 'resistance' to her great and persistent reporting.

The loving desperate concern just drips off the "poster." Is that the back of a receipt?

Maybe he was rooting around in the trash looking for his soul.

I know there's an open question as to whether her wedding ring was even still a thing (her grievance list reference to it), but my speculation is that IF the ring still existed, it was "found" in the house next to the kitchen or bathroom sink or next to her nightstand and Barry then explained its presence away to LE by saying that Suzanne routinely took off her ring before washing her hands/showering/at bedtime/riding her bike, whatever fit his staging.

There's 0% chance he would toss away something that had so much monetary value.
Imo, as soon as investigators satisfied themselves that this vulgarity was a CZ or similar lab-creation, it became of no interest.

It likewise occurs to me that early-on Iris breathed more easily when she asked and Barry confirmed that it was a synthetic bauble. Were it real, IE would have been certain it still existed - somewhere - with a revealing chain of custody - and be a killer lead, producing evidence that could not have explained away in court.

So I humbly believe. 😒

So transparent. It's a list of what he wanted found. Two items. No shoes.

No mention of her. No phone number to call.
Please help me not find my wife.

If a policy exists (I don't recall if the public ever knew?), then yes, I think it's all about the money.

I also can't stop thinking about that diamond ring (assuming it's real). Where is it?? I don't believe it was found with her remains. Did they have it insured? Has he collected on that? That large of a diamond, would it have a serial number, something to identify it? BM would not have just thrown away the ring. Either he still has it somewhere or he sold/pawned it and it's out there somewhere. How could it be traced if it's "out there"? Anyone know?
Good evening @dkaras 😊

'wild thought' ..... did not happen.... if she heard BM truck before he 'stole' her truck 'if she left the keys in her truck' ( smh ) .... when he returned her stolen truck and left in his truck .... why didn't she hear his truck when he left? .... just a wild thought
How do we know Morgan owns/drives a truck?

Like that’s real evidence of proof of life? Could have been from Saturday morning , or Barry could have made coffee and left the cup on the counter. Grasping at straws, lol.

Couple that with his pathetic " Oh Suzanne" video and he makes me want to puke. Just complete bare minimum. He showed more interest in the dead deer heads he had laying in his garage and the antlers he harvested. Suzanne was nothing but an object to him. Seeing how he took care of all his other stuff it's no wonder Suzanne strayed outside the marriage. He probably treated her as badly as all the other prized possessions in his life. Did you see the shape of his guns and his work bench? The man is a slob. IMO.
