Found Deceased CO - BARRY ARRESTED AGAIN - Suzanne Morphew, 49, Chaffee Co, 10 May 2020 *Case dismissed w/o prejudice* *found in 2023* #117

The reason we are discussing it is because of the theories his defence are still pursuing. So I am sure the prosecution will be debunking those theories.
I think the prosecution have a number of witnesses with significant evidence to give to the trial.
IMO, it is absolutely impossible to determine what she had for breakfast on her last day, if all that's left is bones. Any caffeine traces found would be a longterm deposit of caffeine---not a one day event.

'wild thought' ..... did not happen.... if she heard BM truck before he 'stole' her truck 'if she left the keys in her truck' ( smh ) .... when he returned her stolen truck and left in his truck .... why didn't she hear his truck when he left? .... just a wild thought
She heard his truck at 5 am. It was probably pretty quiet at that time--- If he returned later that morning there might have been noisier traffic and she was up and around, with more distractions in her home?

Surely even Barry would not be stupid enough to use clothes that his daughters had kept after Suzanne went missing. They would certainly have recognised her sweatshirt.
As far as I remember, there were several coolers missing at their home. Maybe he used a little cooler for her clothing (and forgot her shoes, because she was barefoot at the end*)?
What happened with the teal tank top with the odd red-brown stain on it, which was found somewhere during search? Did BM lose it while stashing Suzanne's body/clothing? Had her first "grave" (in a cooler) been in the surrounding of that location, where the tank top was found? Is the tank top still in the evidence room despite being allegedly NOT identified as Suzanne's top?

* barefoot like the foot print on his equipment bucket

Like most everyone on here, believe BM planted those clothes they found. I don't believe she wore a padded bra, those are not the bras usually used for cyclists. The bras for cycling are usually more lightweight and for compression, it's a lower-impact sport. I can maybe buy into the yeti shorts, but not the sweatshirt or padded bra. And I already know (jmo) BM did it, so... there's no way I believe it at all. And SM's hydration pack and sunglasses were left behind, to my knowledge. She was sporting a balaclava but no sunglasses?

Still perplexed on the no feet/no shoes. HMM, and he was disposing of pairs of HIS boots in the trash, right?? When Suzanne was still alive (or maybe already deceased), did he force her through some kind of telltale terrain where the shoewear would have done him in?? Maybe something very smelly, where he'd never get the smell out? Sulphur?? Went and dug up articles on sulphur in Colorado, particularly near Poncha Springs, and I found an article (from 1910) that specifically notes artesian wells in-- Moffat. (??) And checked to make sure town of Moffat not Moffat County, it's town of Moffat, it's in San Luis Valley. Moffat had an "artesian well belt," every ranch had one. And the water reeked of sulphur, the mules the writer of the article was touring with wouldn't drink it. That's how bad it smelled. Looking elsewhere. This could result in the lack of predation because animals absolutely hate the smell.

Maybe the chlorine was an attempt to mask the intense odor of the sulfur. (Just a maybe, though, and apologies if anyone's already mentioned the sulphur.) And just a creepy footnote, not far from Moffat, about 20 miles south, there's a gator farm, I guess heated by the natural geothermal waters of the area. Hundreds of gators there. I'm looking at a site noting the attraction here, they're saying leave pets in the car and watch children. And be prepared for nasty odor.

Am I wrong in remembering that not only had BM brought the wrong tools to the job 150 miles away, but he also took these tools to his hotel room. Were the tools cleaned and bleached there?

Help me remember from where BM stole MG's truck , for how long & did he park his truck where he stole MG truck from?

I'm trying to jump start my memories for Suzanne's case.

TiA
Tools were left in the lobby not brought to a room. I do not believe there is anything that shows Barry stole MG’s truck at any point in time.

I'm remembering vague, that BM met her at her Gym, took her to the construction site and afterwards drove her back to her Gym. That wouldn't occur, if she hadn't had her own vehicle at the Gym, I think. Why else taking her back to that address?
When MG drove to Broomfield with the suddenly hired "colleague" (forgot his initials), they may have used her car. You know, the day, when BM had concerns to take her with him because of her smoking in his car.
Rbbm.

Understandable. The man was meticulous about his truck.

I had the impression, sometimes MG was allowed to be with him in his car, talking about True Crime and pig farms (pigs eating people) and how to easily and untraceable disappear a body (BM boasted). Other times she wasn't allowed because of her smoking. Just like BM needed it from day to day.

Did he have time for some maneuvers around MG's area? Didn't he have to head to Broomfield, where he had to get to the building site (wall to be restored), doing unknown things there for a quarter of an hour, completely without a bobcat?
There were 14 miles unaccounted for that morning iirc. He detoured for something. And it wasn't elk.

LE had detailed telematics showing truck doors opening and closing ...iirc it was a continuous drive until he got to the transit stop in Broomfield where LE asserts he threw away evidence, getting out of the vehicle to do so. I don't know if the telematics would show window operation, you'd think it would. I imagine Barry, the minor league baseball washout, being able to chuck evidence out the window without slowing -- phone, helmet, his life as a free man.

Are you implying BM used people?

I'm aghast.

And sarcastic.

IMO Barry used Suzanne, to give him the appearance that he had his act together. She was the face of the successful stay at home mother, a job she herself adored, alonside her successful businessman husband, a pretty family that telegraphed happiness, comfort, unity.

But Barry was always a mess. Sketchy in business, controlling at home.

Without Suzanne holding it together, look how he has fallen apart.

Yes, he's had five years of unarrest, and he wasted no time going public with SD, and he still has hold-out support from his inner ring, but he's been a hunted man for five years and he's known it.

Quite the turnabout for the hunty hunter.

I believe, BM felt hunted since then, when he sold his deer farm in MI, then his landscaping business in IN (two times even) and when he buried his furniture to move to Colorado. Something was in the air since then, and I don't think, the reason was only to end an affair. It seems, since then things have gone downhill despite moving and big inheritance (SM's). MOO

[…]

A store manager at the Poncha Market recalled what she described as a “weird” encounter with Morphew, just a few days after Suzanne was reported missing.

“Somebody knocked on the window and it was Barry Morphew,” Tiffany Butala said, at the time.

She said Morphew created a sort-of missing poster, regarding Suzanne, on the back of a receipt.

The manager at Poncha Market said Barry Morphew wrote this note on May 12, 2020.

“He went to write down a description of maybe what she was wearing,” Butala said. “I just thought it was weird because he didn’t explain what the color of her eyes were or her hair or anything about her, like how tall she was or anything.”

Barry was asked by LE what she was likely wearing. He told them and they asked him to put it in writing and drop it off at their office.

Buried his FURNITURE?

I think it's possible he had prepared a temporary grave, perfect for stashing the largest size Yeti cooler or equivalent. Perhaps near the training camp for volunteer firemen.

We haven't heard whether the footprint on the Bobcat scoop (which must have been the new scoop?) is thought to be from a man or a woman.

The fact that he was heading north when he chucked the stuff could mean that the temporary burial site was in frozen ground or even recovered with snow. They didn't do much searching up near the pass.

It's frustrating that we will probably never know. I can't wait for the trial, in any case.
