Found Deceased CO - BARRY ARRESTED AGAIN - Suzanne Morphew, 49, Chaffee Co, 10 May 2020 *Case dismissed w/o prejudice* *found in 2023* #117

I’d like to know if there was any of Suzanne’s DNA found on the clothing that Barry decided to throw in with her. There was no indication of decomposition but did they try fo get touch DNA?

Wouldn’t it be great if they found Barry’s but not Suzanne’s?
Yeah, but they lived together. Presumably put their laundry in the same basket, etc. I think the real surprise is if any dna survived at all. imo

Mr. Cheapbutt who hangs dumping trash outside hotels to score free breakfast.... like Ratso Rizzo, is he picking up cigarette butts off the street, too? No, he (probably) doesn't smoke... This same guy wants us to believe financials motivate him to bury furniture. He could sell it. That house in Arcadia sold for like three quarters of a million in 2019, it's hardly a shabby shack, and I'm sure the furniture wasn't too shabby, either. And he put alfalfa on top of this... buried furniture?? Alfalfa was specifically mentioned as part of the breakdown mixture when I was reseraching composting. And yes, you can make compost piles like this, but no treated furniture/items of any kind because they'll release chemicals into the soil. Um, was that the idea? Composting? Because in light of what I read about the human composting, I'm finding this pretty alarming. I doubt it was the idea, I'm alarmed by any similarities in terms of what the idea "might be," but whatever the idea of it actually was, I find it hard to believe it's because of financials.

There's something up with that, jmo, and it's nothing good. Does anyone know which party-- Barry v Suzanne-- wanted the move to Colorado? They may both have, but one perhaps wanted it more than the other. (There may be no way to know this. Also, it might have been completely mutual.) When I look at images of the Indiana home, it feels much more feminine to me. The Colorado house has a very masculine feel to it. My guess would be that Barry would prefer the overall layout and vibe of that Colorado home, but it's guess only. And I'm wondering how the divorce suggestion played with that idea, him having to leave that house, where he'd become so comfortable... shooting chipmunks from the breezeway? You know, no amount of flannel shirts makes that read "tough," "hunter," or "outdoorsman" to me, but again, jmo. It reads as something far less innocuous and much more sinister because I'm sure the chipmunks were safe as BM's phone was pinging all over the place. They were probably the only ones that were.
Is there an article or anything where it says that Barry buried furniture because of financials? I have always wondered what his reasoning was. I would love to read it.
The only reason I could come up with was laziness or something nefarious. I am not sure of laziness because that took a bit of work to dig up holes big enough to bury furniture. And why not sell it or give it away? There also companies that would come and get it but of course he is cheap. Maybe he owned enough land that digging holes didn’t show in the landscaping.

I had remembered Suzanne’s friend or her sister saying Suzanne had to be talked into moving to CO to make Barry happy. She loved her home but gave in to his wishes to make him happy. Something happened in Indiana and no one knows precisely what.IMO.
Again, IMO, Suzanne figured out in CO that Barry was never going to change. He was a rat in Indiana and still a rat in CO and she had enough of him.

By the way, I thought the same thing about the home in CO and many here disagreed. To me, it looks like a man cave and decorated to suit a man. The home in Indiana was beautiful. We will never know.

I found this old article, from six months after Suzanne 'went missing' (turns out that's not even true, Barry knew wheres she was. Wheres, plural) --

Y'all might remember our conversations around this particular revelation, who could it be, we wondered.

The sheriff's office has asked anybody who communicated with Suzanne Morphew around her disappearance or since — whether by Facebook, Instagram, Voxer, FaceTime or WhatsApp — to come forward through the tip line at 719-312-7530, even if they think the information they have is insignificant.

"(Investigators) also believe that sometimes in these types of cases that people don’t come forward with information for concern that they may get someone in trouble," Spezze said. "To those who may be fearful to come forward, they can reach out anonymously. Once investigators know your concerns, they can address them."

I doubt this was MSM but instead, I think we may have come by this story from a YT interview.

TBH, I wouldn't be surprised to learn that this event occurred as they were headed to Colorado. We know of SM to be a kind, and charitable person where her first option to be unburdened of excess furnishings would likely be to donate them.

Seems to me this might be more evidence of a haphazard move where the moving van was at capacity and BM's quick solution was to jump on the Skid Steer and be done with it.

IRRC, the subject story included SM being extremely embarrassed. MOO

I think there were life insurance policies with daughters as beneficiaries. Daughters then gave Barry the monies . That is what I believe. Barry needs complete control. JMO.
Yes, IIRC that was in the recent Daily Mail article entitled, “Dark Revelations of woman who dated accused wife killer, Barry Morphew” (featuring Shoshona Darke who came out as BM’s girlfriend short after SM disappeared but has since broken up from him). That article has now disappeared behind a paywall.

IMO they were smoking JL out.

They sure were. That spineless guy knew she was missing and had valuable information about the timeline because he was just chatting with her and said zilch until he was finally tracked down MONTHS later. Weak man. I bet even today, with his marriage blown to pieces, (maybe not) he still leaves out info. I hope he’s thrown on the stand… just because. imo

This has always bothered me, too. It looks like his wife and he may still be together if SM is any indication. Can't be sure, though. They have several children. The thing is that he had to suspect foul play. How could anyone with a moral compass not discuss it with one's spouse and come forward? I know that I would have to do so. I wouldn't be able to live with myself. Plus, I wouldn't be able to sleep knowing the the cops were probably going to track me down anyway!

Can you imagine your husband being in such a hurry to move that he would dig a hole on your property and bury the furniture. Why Barry? I’m sure Suzanne loved some of her furniture and may have wanted to keep it. I would have. There is a story there that LE never found I guess. Wish they could do more investigating in Indiana.

I hope for the family of JL that he and his wife are still together and will make it through this. I am sure his family loves him but think less of him as a man. It took both people to make the affair but he sure was afraid of coming forward. That irked me.

Bing! Bing! Bing! Give @Germany1 a prize.

LE was not doing a passive inventory of Barry's belongings. It wasn't a casual question, like one would ask if, say, they were going to borrow one for a weekend picnic, if only he had one.

It was a pointed question. LE had a reason to ask -- same with the BAM. That they asked him about coolers isn't because his daughters may have taken some camping. No, LE must have had good reason to suspect Barry used a cooler or coolers for something nefarious. I can't help but think of FotisDulos and his truckbed of trash bags (not to mention a bicycle). Or PatrickFrazee and the tote in his truckbed, with the hinges indicating it had been turned around at a critical time. What did LE see that inspired the question? -- that is what's important here. That they found none.

Was there one in his truckbed? Did they find one in a landfill? Was there a spot on a shelf in Barry's filthy garage, a perfect rectangle without dust?

Cooler for transport. Cooler for burial. I think Barry was at several sites overnight the first night, before leaving her somewhere from where he'd move her again, to Moffat.

It's possible that, when he returned around 3:30 am, over twelve hours after tranquilizing his wife, he had an empty cooler. Which he set on the trailer... before throwing it in the back of his truck and heading for Broomfield.

I know how cheap Barry is. But if LE has recovered his cooler, for some reason, I don't think he's going to be happy to see it again.

And that makes me happy.

JMO
I would be ecstatic if the investigators have found more evidence...

In March and April 2021, FBI Agents asked Barry about why he needed a backhoe that particular time and day. FBI Agents learned that before Barry left Indiana in 2018, he used a backhoe to dig a large hole in his frontyard, fill it with items to include furniture, and cover it over, planting alfalfa on top. Barry also dug holes to hide large sums of money in Indiana, per his associates and own admissions. Arrest Affidavit, p. 53, footnote 55.

CBS:
In a surveillance shot of Barry on one of those trash runs, investigators could not see what he was throwing away. It may have looked incriminating, but Barry claims it was just another day at the office. He told agents he was merely being cheap, not criminal.

Peter Van Sant: And his claim, well, I just always have a lotta junk in — in the vehicle. I don't like to pay to have it — disposed at a landfill, I — this is just what I do.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So what I think is happening here is that there is NO "official" explanation for this buried furniture. Peopl;e have put two and two together in terms of the explanations BM gives regardig trash with landfills and are ascribing that as the only thing so far that is close to any explanation. If it was a case of furniture they no longer wanted or needed, I'm sure someone would have loved to have had it. Even the trash makes more sense. Unless he was actually attempting to compost it. But then, he's supposedly burying money, too. And we certainly know BM's not composting that.

No matter what the "explanation" is, I know I'm not going to like it, and if it's from BM, I probably won't beieve it.

Life insurance redemption to the beneficiary would require the death certificate and assuming BM was the primary beneficiary, the case against him had been dismissed when SM's body was found. Most policies have a two-year contestability clause so I think that would have been up in April 2024 (Charges dismissed April 2022).

However, if BM knew that his daughters were the next named beneficiaries, I could definitely see a situation where BM would voluntarily disclaim the benefits to aid in a prompt distribution (i.e., where funds would be directed to the next named beneficiary).

I think we know how it works in that family. Just a paper transaction... MOO
Yes, I know Marlene Dietrich had her legs insured. Anything goes if/when you can/care to pay the premium.
Here we are speculating about term life for one with cancer in remission. Imo, no way on earth.
Term life pre-dating the cancer?
- Plausible purchasers/parties with insurable interests, please?

Of all the stupid things he said and did, Barry really hurt himself by claiming he was chasing chipmunks around the house. That pretty much eliminates disputing the gps data on
his phone.

He never should have talked to investigators. He practically vomited consciousness of guilt all over himself.
There's always an element of truth in lies to make them more plausible. "Chipmunks" was Suzanne, as "Raccoons" were Tylee Ryan in Chad Daybell's case.

Can someone fill me in please? What evidence is there that the body was moved from an original burial site?
