Is there an article or anything where it says that Barry buried furniture because of financials? I have always wondered what his reasoning was. I would love to read it.
The only reason I could come up with was laziness or something nefarious. I am not sure of laziness because that took a bit of work to dig up holes big enough to bury furniture. And why not sell it or give it away? There also companies that would come and get it but of course he is cheap. Maybe he owned enough land that digging holes didn’t show in the landscaping.

I had remembered Suzanne’s friend or her sister saying Suzanne had to be talked into moving to CO to make Barry happy. She loved her home but gave in to his wishes to make him happy. Something happened in Indiana and no one knows precisely what.IMO.
Again, IMO, Suzanne figured out in CO that Barry was never going to change. He was a rat in Indiana and still a rat in CO and she had enough of him.

By the way, I thought the same thing about the home in CO and many here disagreed. To me, it looks like a man cave and decorated to suit a man. The home in Indiana was beautiful. We will never know.
Outside, the house in Colorado looks like a fortress. Inside, it looks like a caveman’s lair. The “pebble landscape” outside is horrible.

It's possible the delay in transporting BM to Colorado is that they don't have room for him and are moving offenders around to accommodate their "high profile" inmate. JMO

Would custody still show if he was doing en route to Colorado and then be changed once he was officially logged into jail there or would it change as soon as he left the prison gates?

They sure were. That spineless guy knew she was missing and had valuable information about the timeline because he was just chatting with her and said zilch until he was finally tracked down MONTHS later. Weak man. I bet even today, with his marriage blown to pieces, (maybe not) he still leaves out info. I hope he’s thrown on the stand… just because. imo
me too! I'd love to have a shot at questioning him :)

This has always bothered me, too. It looks like his wife and he may still be together if SM is any indication. Can't be sure, though. They have several children. The thing is that he had to suspect foul play. How could anyone with a moral compass not discuss it with one's spouse and come forward? I know that I would have to do so. I wouldn't be able to live with myself. Plus, I wouldn't be able to sleep knowing the the cops were probably going to track me down anyway!

It just goes to show you how much he thought of Suzanne.

I think this is true of many secret affairs. The two involved are living in a fantasy world, untouched by everyday concerns or the impact of their relationship on others whom they also care about. And once pulled out into the light of day, with those realities added in, many of those relationships formed through secret affairs don't survive.

It seems SM knew that because - even though they talked of being soulmates and meant for each other as husband and wife when meeting for their fantasy relationship - when SM talked about leaving BM and moving on, she was talking about doing it on her own, without JL. She was separating reality from fantasy.

I think they were both deriving affirmation, the joy of being desired and admired, and the sense of what their life might have been like had they made different choices out of their affair. So it was likely something they both needed and they chose that means to get it while hoping that they wouldn't bear the cost to other relationships that would be jeopardized by discovery.

IMO, SM likely would have forgiven JL for not coming forward - her murder was BM's doing, not JL's, and she likely would not have wanted JL to bear the cost to his other relationships and for her reputation to bear the cost to her other relationships they both had so carefully avoided before the murder.

Nevertheless, once a crime had been committed it was not just about what JL wanted or what SM would have wanted.

JL should have come forward to LE once SM disappeared. He had relevant information - the affair as motive for BM to kill SM. He should have come forward because BM murdered SM and concealed that fact and those acts in response to SM's behavior reveal him to be a dangerous man who needs to be tried and imprisoned because SM had a right to her life and BM violated that and concealed that fact. That made him an unacceptably dangerous man toward SM and makes him an unacceptably dangerous man where all others at potential future risk are concerned.

When I just did an inmate search for BM on Maricopa County Sheriff's Office I noticed that his cell number and bed number are no longer indicated. It's just XX. Did anyone else see that? I wonder if he is on his way to CO?

He doesn't show up at Maricopa at all anymore, so he's probably been moved.

The furniture at Puma came with the purchase of the house. It was the same stuff from this lisitng agreement prior to their purchase. It was an all inclusive deal.

In March and April 2021, FBI Agents asked Barry about why he needed a backhoe that particular time and day. FBI Agents learned that before Barry left Indiana in 2018, he used a backhoe to dig a large hole in his frontyard, fill it with items to include furniture, and cover it over, planting alfalfa on top. Barry also dug holes to hide large sums of money in Indiana, per his associates and own admissions. Arrest Affidavit, p. 53, footnote 55.

CBS:
In a surveillance shot of Barry on one of those trash runs, investigators could not see what he was throwing away. It may have looked incriminating, but Barry claims it was just another day at the office. He told agents he was merely being cheap, not criminal.

Peter Van Sant: And his claim, well, I just always have a lotta junk in — in the vehicle. I don't like to pay to have it — disposed at a landfill, I — this is just what I do.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
So what I think is happening here is that there is NO "official" explanation for this buried furniture. Peopl;e have put two and two together in terms of the explanations BM gives regardig trash with landfills and are ascribing that as the only thing so far that is close to any explanation. If it was a case of furniture they no longer wanted or needed, I'm sure someone would have loved to have had it. Even the trash makes more sense. Unless he was actually attempting to compost it. But then, he's supposedly burying money, too. And we certainly know BM's not composting that.

No matter what the "explanation" is, I know I'm not going to like it, and if it's from BM, I probably won't beieve it.
Cheap, cheap Barry, you're in luck. While justice will cost the taxpayers of Colorado a bucketload of money, you won't have to pay a nickel for your lifetime stay.

If today is indeed travel day, welcome back to Colorado, they've been waiting for you.
