IMO, your instincts here are spot on @windrower !

Impossible for Iris not to have her thumbprint on the scale!

Don't have to go further than IE's former defense practice website-- that converts to PEP-- where she announces how BM's case caused her to cease her criminal law practice for her non-profit endeavor. Click on the "Board Members" tab and surprise (no surprise), you'll find Jane-- cited as the co-founder of PEP, along with board member Iris.

In the high-profile case, People v. Barry Morphew, Iris and her team uncovered egregious prosecutorial misconduct that resulted in the dismissal of Mr. Morphew’s first-degree murder charges. It was after this case in 2022, that Iris decided to cease her criminal law practice and found PEP, in the hopes of ending the rampant prosecutorial misconduct she witnessed throughout her career.

Since then, PEP has worked to bring reforms to the criminal justice system. Following an investigation of the prosecutors involved in the Morphew case, former Elected DA Stanley was disbarred and two other DAs suffered public censure.

Moving on to defense attorney Davide Beller, he and his firm conveniently have a connection to the Office of Alternative Defense Counsel (OADC) -- the organization the state public defender's office turns to when their office has an ethical conflict of interest and can't represent the defendant.

From David Beller's Bio:

David served as President of the Colorado Criminal Defense Bar, proudly serving 1000 criminal defense lawyers, paralegals and investigators. He is a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Denver College of Law and at Metropolitan State University. He is a faculty member of Colorado Alternate Defense Counsel and National Criminal Defense College, teaching trial skills to Colorado criminal defense lawyers.

This is depressing. The more cases I pay attention to, the more corrupt the system becomes. They are all in a buddy system. IMO, victims remain victims. Very few victories. We are losing the justice battle.

I do not believe that there was a camera in the house, but it is believable (to me) that there were cams outside. Could it be that IF there were cams this was the first time BM caught SM on camera acting (to him) suspiciously? Was this the first time that SM had been outside sunbathing and talking to JL?
They had security cameras, but they weren’t working at the time.

Exactly. I actually think the prosecution will explain it; and it is a big motive. I just hope that the prosecution has a good handle on the finances and what exactly was Suzanne's money and what Barry stood to lose if she divorced him.

JMO.
Oh they probably know what her 2 inheritances were. She was a teacher for a short period of time but the money was commingled so most likely they would sell the house. Colorado I think is an alimony state and Suzanne did not work and at the time one daughter was under 18 so most likely he would have a couple years of child support and potentially some sort of alimony support until Suzanne could find gainful employment I suspect.

Here is where I get nervous about a first degree vs. second degree charge. 'Crimes of passion ' can often considered to be second degree cases not first.

In the summer of 2024, Barry’s attorney, Jane, gave an interview to a Danish podcast. We had some bits and pieces, but until now it had never been fully translated.

I only listened to a bit because I lost my mind listening to her lie about another body that was found there, claiming it was buried and there was a lot of mystery surrounding it.

There was no mystery. A man was murdered in his vehicle in Denver, and his body ultimately dumped there. An accomplice was charged, but the killer, who has been identified, is still on the run.

She was apparently trying to play up this serial killer angle at the time.

Matt Blanc did the translation, and three of four videos have been uploaded so far.

I listened to parts 2 and 3 and I am no less enraged. Jane's strategy is to allege a continuing conspiracy to frame Barry Morphew, by pointing to investigators who worked on the initial case being present at the autopsy. This is insane, especially considering the metabolites, but that's what she was going with at the time.

She connects an entirely unrelated murder that has been solved, to this crime, and then suggests that Edna's case is involved too.

Interestingly, she points to media reports that absolutely do not exist, saying that Suzanne's body was buried near the house, and then moved at a later date.

So Jane knew Suzanne's body was moved last year, but the source of her information is a lie.

Barry's fake smile is creepy. I'm not sure if he was trying to reassure someone behind him that he's ok? I can certainly see that fake smile being used to intimidate or make others uncomfortable. He reminds me of a high school bully that never grew up.
If he's allowed to mingle with other prisoners, he's going to finally be put in his place by a bigger, meaner bully. No one there is going to put up with this obnoxious, arrogant man.

That's rich.

So everybody that was at the autopsy was in cahoots to frame Barry while simultaneously protecting the real killer?

And they would do this, why?

And why would this apparently prolific murderer barry Suzanne near Barry's house and EVER move her remains from there???????

Thinking to myself... sure was considerate of Barry to proactively remove his trail cams so a serial killer could barry his wife off-camera.

Just as digital forensics is the new DNA, conspiracy is the new defense. Showing their hand early, I see.

They've got no cards.

Where did Jane's "serial killer" get the BAM?

Barry's garage, right before Barry kindly disposed of it for him. Guess he got it before Barry left for Broomfield. Serial killer must know how to load darts. And do laundry.

Well, well, well. Thank you for the info, @Seattle1. Many behind-the-scenes ties there.

And why are these attorneys doubling down, tripling down in their efforts to exonerate BM? To save face after the civil suit disaster? I guess Jane really is buying all of Iris’s spin.

I understand a vigorous defense, we sure saw it in action with the Kohberger case. But to proclaim BM is innocent and could not have killed SUZANNE is beyond normal, to me.

Can’t wait for the trial when all is laid bare, and Jane’s statement is repudiated. May we see justice for SUZANNE.

IMO

(An aside—does anyone know how Iris’s PEP is funded?)

Jane has to keep her $15M civil lawsuit alive based on fabricated evidence, etc!! I guess she will ask the appellate to stay the case, pending the acquittal here, not!

I just realized Barry’s defense on the BAM.

“Oh that Suzzane! She took a little BAM at night as a sleep aid. It must have built up in her system!

Yeah, that’s the ticket.

Everyone in the county is dishonest except the honorable BM?

Those are some hairy allegations.

With zero supporting evidence.

I hope no judge allows it.

So grateful for you keeping these facts front and center. Most people aren't going to be aware of these connections and motives. I hope the judges are.
