I can’t even imagine. I have a four year old. I would be terrified if a loaded gun was anywhere near him, I would have one eye on him and one on the gun at all times. Kids that age are so incredibly quick.

Does anyone else find it odd that he shot himself in the mouth? I feel like instinct would be to pick it up and “pretend” to shoot someone else or out the window at another car.

A lot of things in this situation seem odd/off to me

I feel for this family, most especially for the innocent 4-year-old and the baby who has now lost a sibling forever.

@ChatteringBirds Thanks for your post. I also feel for all members of the family, as I posted* two days ago. I cannot begin to imagine being in their shoes. The grief? Must be unbearable. my2ct

Still wondering about the sequence of events, seating, and how this happened.

.... And a negligent parent (father or mother) does not imply evil intent IMO.
@Lilibet sbm Exactly and thanks for pointing this out.
Negligent parenting does not necessarily translate into evil or criminal intent.

Just seems unusual that both parents were negligent at virtually the same time and it led to such a tragedy. my2ct.

I wonder if there is part of the story left out…Mom wasn’t looking out the window passively, but actively grabbed for the gun. Kids do put things in their mouths, so it could have gone off.

And a negligent parent (father or mother) does not imply evil intent IMO.
True that
