Or this boy...

Christopher James Harvey, 14, missing since July 11, 1984.

That looks pretty close to Creede on my map.

The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)
WS thread:
CO - CO - Christopher Harvey, 14, Hinsdale County, 11 July 1984

And they estimate the Doe passed away 5 years prior to being found, so the dates match in that way.

Is anyone able to view the rule-outs on NamUs?The National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs)

I did, they aren't listed.
But as far as I know CODIS comparisons aren't on there, only manual ones.
I emailed the namus contact, hopefully he responds.

I also think only manual comparisons are actually listed, but it would still be helpful to know if there were any, so we don't spend time on those.
I feel like this case didn't get enough attention, though maybe it did have a thorough review by LE, at least when it was added to NamUs.

Thank you for sending the email. We never know if it's going to be the tip they need.

Just received the standard response, let's see how it goes.
Hello,

Thank you for your submission, we appreciate your time and support.

NamUs staff will review the submitted information. Additionally, we will notify the investigating agencies for their consideration if the agencies have not been previously notified.

Please note, identification and exclusions are only made and/or confirmed by investigating agencies. The results of comparisons may or may not be made available to the public for investigatory reasons.

Thanks,

Dustin Driscoll
With the distance, age and the rest I'm sure he's been submitted before but who knows.

Doe Network: The victim's remains were found in Mineral County between September 5, 1991 and May 14, 1992.

NamUs: Skeletal remains were found in Mineral County, Colorado on 09/05/1991.

Wonder why the uncertainty. DN lists oddly specific dates.

I wonder if bones were found on more than one date (scattered?)

And then, why two different age ranges?

Yeah, I’m guessing the remains were scattered and/or found over the course of that time frame. This is from the CBI site, which also might explain the age difference. Maybe the older estimate is factoring in PMI (approximate year of birth to date of discovery):

Colorado Cold Case Files - Case Detail: John Doe

Found in Mineral County between September 5, 1991 and May 14, 1992. Estimated year of birth is 1971 to 1975, height listed as 5'3" to 5'7". Jefferson County Coroner performed autopsy. Anyone with information related to this case is asked to contact the Colorado Bureau of Investigation.

Bumping up case.

Also I am going to assume they don't have DNA for this UID, making comparisons difficult, but IDK for sure.

Attached 2006 article on this from the Lake City Silver World newspaper.

@Caring1 Hey could you post the current list of NamUs exclusions for this John Doe? I would greatly appreciate it.

@Caring1 Thanks for checking.

Or this boy...

Christopher James Harvey, 14, missing since July 11, 1984.

He has been listed as excluded. I'm so glad they are making comparisons in this case.
I hope it will be solved in the next few years. Surely there is someone out there hoping to find out what happened to this boy.
