Per NAMUS:

Last contact with David was on 10/15/2025. His vehicle was located abandoned but very clean on 10/23/2025 in Granby Colorado in the Monarch Lake Trailhead. His drivers license, truck keys, baseball cap, and gloves were left in the truck.

David is 5'9" and 140 lbs, with green eyes.

Yes, very odd. Only recently Guinn I could see in Colorado Springs is Brian W. -- search mentions possible PD connection, but not verified.

Even if David was just visiting, weird that he's not coming up in any searches. I tried LinkedIn, but although several similar names, no one who matched.

David is from Security, Colorado (an unincorporated area SE of Colorado Springs). He sent letters to family and friends stating that by the time they read the letter he would be dead and that he was going up to the mountains where he belonged. He hiked and camped around Monarch Lake for decades, often off-trail (bushwhacking). Grand County did do some searches, but no trace of him has been found. Unfortunately, the family gave up on him when they saw the letters, stating that if he didn't want to be found, he wouldn't be, which is why there has been no press/publicity about him. I am a friend who received one of the letters. I am still trying to figure out where he may have gone, but it is a huge area. He is very "old-school" -- no cellphone, computer, etc. He is not wearing glasses in this picture, but usually does. He also wears black 5-toe shoes.
