Found Deceased CO - David Puckett, 6, Aurora, 31 Dec 2016

Truth. A child like David could have traveled as much as 10 miles in day 1, lessening each day due to no food or water.

This case does not make sense. He's not hiding. It's been too long for that.

I wonder if he has truly been missing since Saturday or if maybe no one noticed he was missing until then. School has been on holiday for more than a week now.

I hope they have thoroughly questioned the siblings.

I don't know that he has been missing for longer than was reported to police but a reporter asked the officer that today at the press conference and the officer said she had no info on that possibility.

I have doubts that David will be found, as terrible as that sounds..
It seems as if LE is keeping this in a shroud of mystery. As for the 2 1/2 mile radius over 3 days, he could be so much farther than that is. When they do happen to reveal information (if there is any), it may be too late to expand the radius that searches are conducted in. Hopefully I am wrong.

how many cases have we seen this in? where the missing person manages to travel a good bit further than the max search range. i have always said they should take like 10% (or something) of the resources in searches like this and send them outside of the search area immediately, travelling and searching along paths of least resistance..

*edit* this is when you believe your MP is alive, and was at the start healthy and mobile

I am hoping contacting CPS and interviewing the children was one of the first things they did.

Does anyone know of a member here who lives in Oklahoma? I want to run something by them.

Oh and something else that was said at the presser that I might have forgotten to mention. (Forgive me if this has already been said.)

Someone (can't remember if it was a reporter or the officer) that Grandma was at the house watching the kids (which could be up to 4 children, if my research is correct) while Mom was at work.

There was also mention of the child possibly being seen last at 4:30pm on 12.31.16 but the police weren't called until 5:45pm and the officer said at today's presser that she thought about 15 minutes elapsed between the time the child went missing and the police were contacted.

Following this now. Still reading up.

48 hours out in that weather. Ugh. I hope someone took him in, hopefully for friendly reasons.

Could he have stumbled into a New Years party and everyone thought someone brought their kid so nobody bothered to check where he came from and why he was there.

I hope he is resourceful, warm and safe!

For some reason I think one of the mods lives in OK--is there a list of mods somewhere?

I'll look into that. Thanks so much.

Amber Alert, in my mind anyway, implies some catalyst, some intervention of some kind by some other person and not a wandered off child. I wonder what this is about.

Im going back to the beginning to the first msm stories. Who last had eyes on David and where. Off to reread.

Try Okiegranny.

But what does OK have to do with this?

update: @FBIDenver has 50 agents helping @AuroraPD #FindingDavid #9NEWS @9WantsToKnow

That's a lot of agents for a boy that wandered off is it not?

There just has to be more to this story.......

Maybe Grandma lost track of David and made up a story?
I just think there is sooo much more to this story, and everyone is keeping quiet.

I am in Colorado...
I am still catching up on this thread....
But I wanted to post that I am down in the southern part of Douglas County and we just got an amber alert for David - which led me here.
Since I still have to catch up this may be covered, but for us to receive an Amber Alert down here over a child who 'walked away' and no sign of kidnapping is not normal. We only get state-wide kidnapping texts...

Plus, the temperatures have been brutal. According to LE the parents noticed David missing around 5:30 pm on New Year's Eve. The low that night was about 16 F. Last night it got down to about 21 F and tonight's supposed to go down to about 19 F.

https://www.timeanddate.com/weather/usa/aurora-co/historic

How on earth could a 6 year old survive those temperatures three nights in a row, especially since he wasn't dressed for below freezing weather? I'd like to know how far he would travel before slowing down from hypothermia. Assuming he didn't find shelter somewhere how could he not be found by now? Remember the little boy in Toronto (Elijah Marsh) who ran away from his apartment building? Searchers found him barely a block away, huddled in the backyard of a house.

At the same time though David went missing at an unfortunate time. 5:30 New Year's Eve - the sun had already set and maybe few people were out and about for New Year's that early. He could have walked past any number of houses without anyone seeing him.

Ugh, this is so frustrating. It's like the cold climate version of Jesse Wilson (missing in Arizona). Poof! Vanished into thin air.
