One of the bigger questions is: How long was David in his room? was it 2, 3 or 4 hours where as his mother did not check on him? The longer the time the more distance he was able to run away. Also I can relate to this scenario if this is what happened. Twice my 10 year old son has gotten mad and he suddenly ran into the back yard. He once did it in the winter in the dark. He was upset about being corrected and just decided to run. Maybe David got mad after being corrected by his mother and decided just to run out of his house through the window? I don't know - hes only 6. Do 6 year old do this?

I thought his mother was at work?

Apparently Crimestoppers is offering money for info. This is not a "wandering off" case anymore, it seems.

let's establish now while we wait for the presser, is it fact (from LE or MSM) that mom was at work and grandma watching children? Or is this rumor from SM comments that is slowly morphing into fact here?

Help a gal out. TIA

I believe his grandma was watching him.

If David left the house through his window... he would have had to open it (closed in cold weather) and possibly push or kick through a screen.
That wouldn't be easy for a six year old.

I know since I'd locked myself out of our house many years ago---- a few months after it was built and the windows from the ground floor had recently been installed. From the front of our house you enter at ground level, but the basement is open on the north side and the windows are a foot from the floor to 4 feet high , with a screen portion on the lower 2/3 . (sectioned windows)
With the door locked-- you can exit , but it locks behind you.Safety feature for fire or whatever.
Since our oldest was an infant at the time and was napping-- I HAD to get back in and couldn't wait for hubby to return from the store.
Kicked the screen in and it took some doing--even with garden boots on.
We purchased more spare keys after that. :p

That is why I'm wondering how David exited his room. My first guess would be that he just sneaked out the back door or whatever.

First press conference's transcript (earlier in this thread, first or second page) says they were all at home.

I've had no luck finding msm references to grandmother, mom at work or an argument either so I'd appreciate a link to the stories.

The reward was offered yesterday. The APD is still claiming that this is a wandering case. Presser in about 12 minutes. Follow APD on FB at Aurora Police Department or on Periscope at Aurora Police Dept.

http://www.9news.com/news/local/amber-alert-issued-in-search-for-aurora-6-year-old/381294998

"Sources tell 9Wants to Know that David left his home Saturday after an arguments with his sibling. On Monday 9NEWS observed members of the FBI going door-to-door and looking in cars on the street where he lives."

It is interesting that this article notes his situation doesn't meet the criteria for an Amber Alert. So that's something. There is no mention of the grandmother here, though.

I wonder what jail his dad is in? Could he be trying to get there?

David was seen earlier in the day he went missing by someone other than family. (Glad this has been answered!)
He was missing an hour before reported.
David has 3 minor siblings that live with him.
The family has been cooperative.
Several home searches of the Puckett house have been conducted. (Yay, my wish has been granted!!!)
Sex offenders have been spoken to.
There has been road canvassing by the FBI.
5,000 more dollars have been added to the reward. (10,000 dollars in total).
