A fight with an older sibling could have ended with David deceased. I guess it's too late for this to be considered.

In the presser they said they searched the home a few times. I bet they looked for any evidence of a fight or a crime scene.

The bloodhounds found no trail, at all?

Do they have a septic system, or wells on their land?

Where did it say the bloodhounds found no trail at all? Because upthread somewhere it said they 'lost' his trail 2 blocks away, IIRC.

That had made me wonder if he got in a vehicle or went inside a home. But I never saw WHERE exactly it went cold.

The fact they are searching cars makes me think they are concerned someone kidnapped or killed him and would be trying to transport him (or his body) out of the area. I suppose they could say it is to make sure he is not hiding in a truck without the car owner's knowledge, but what are the chances he climbed into a vehicle to hide and someone could get in that vehicle to drive it to work without realizing he was there?

I have seen both! My recent google news search of David puckett bloodhounds scent trail didn't come up with many articles, but I did find this one:

“It’s also kind of hard for them though when they’re in an area where the people have been living because they’ve been working around and walking and so there’s a lot of scent that they have to filter through to try and say this is old, this is new,” she said.

“But they can do it.”
Scent trails can last up to a month in undisturbed areas. The more people walking around contaminating an area, the quicker scent trails degrade.

In a heavy traffic urban setting, bloodhounds can pick up trails up to twelve hours after a disappearance."

Hmmm, growing up in Mass, we always removed our screens and then washed them and put them back up in spring. Guess its not usual. Sorry.

I've lived in a place where it doesn't snow for most of my life, but even as a young kid I recall people doing this in our neighborhoods on the East Coast and also relatives in Nevada do the whole screen/window swap, so it's certainly not unheard of. It does make more sense how he couldn't gotten out the window easier if there was no screen or it was loosely installed. It may also turn out to be a good learning opportunity for parents who do this if it turns out to be relevant to the case. NOT victim blaming by any means here, just saying if we learn that's pay off how he got out, maybe more precautionary measures could be useful for people in between the window swap.

Most plausible that he got several blocks away and it was dark and he got turned around. Instead of wandering up to a house he crawled in somewhere. I think he is still close by as well and likely has passed with the weather conditions.

This time of year wouldn't most bodies of water be frozen if even a thin layer? That should make it easy to see if someone has fallen thru the ice.

The tracking dogs and bloodhounds are useless..............they should just leave them at home and quit wasting time. I can't tell you the countless searches that have been conducted using those dogs and eventually the missing person was found dead a few hundred feet away from where they were last seen. The dogs never picked up on a scent........ever. Lindsey Piccone is the most recent one that comes to mind, but there are dozens of others, maybe even hundreds of cases like that. I've evolved to the point now where I think the entire concept of tracking dogs is nothing more than an urban myth.

Also, I think they are expanding the search perimeter out way too far. It was dark, it was cold, he was alone, and he was mad.................he didn't go very far. Like many little boys his age, I'll bet he has a favorite hiding place that few people know about with maybe the exception of his brother and some other friends. If this was a campground or a forest, I would be all for the idea of expanding the search out 3 or 4 miles, but this is an urban area with plenty of good hiding places within a couple of blocks from his home.

Another thing, if his house has a fireplace and a chimney, somebody needs to skedaddle their butt up on the roof and take a look down inside of it.

Here is a map to help answer your question. His last known location has an icon on it (as far as we know, since LE wants to covet that information for some odd reason)

It is a highly populated area, but nearby there are some parks and a long narrow strip of land, purpose unknown.

I wonder if David ever went to play in one of those parks.

What has me worried is someone pretending to care about him if they saw him alone and upset. They may have had other motives in mind and children David's age are still so trusting and naïve. It could have been someone he knew by sight in his neighborhood.

I just don't see how he could have disappeared from sight when the police were called 15 minutes after they knew he was missing. That is much faster than the average timeline for when police are called when a child goes missing. Usually there will be a 1-2 hour time lapse window because the family is busy looking for the child themselves and calling everyone they know who may know something about the child.

He very easily could have been abducted and coaxed to get in a vehicle. The scariest thing about pedophiles is they don't look like monsters and can pretend to be very caring and attentive to young children.

The only other thing I can think of is he may have ran a far distance due to him being angry and then got lost. As night settled in he may have found a vehicle to crawl inside of trying to stay warm but surely by now the vehicle owner would have found him unless it was an abandoned vehicle no one drives. I doubt he would have crawled into someone's trunk. If there is water close by there is also a possibility he fell into the cold water by accident and couldn't get out of the water especially if it was already dark.

They said he has a slight learning disability iirc but surely he would know to go get help if he was lost or afraid of the dark? Plus kids his age don't stay angry that long anyway.

It seems whatever happened to him happened rather quickly since they haven't been able to find his location in the area they have searched nor did anyone see him in the neighborhood. Although if he is out there deceased from the harsh weather conditions it really is like looking for a tiny needle in a haystack and LE doesn't even really know which 'haystack' he may be in. We here know all too well that extensive searches for someone doesn't always result in finding them. Some were found later on, even years later when someone not even connected to the case stumbled upon the remains when they were out hunting, fishing, walking wooded trails or camping.

I read just now that his father is in prison? If that is so... was he incarcerated at the time David went missing? Although I don't think this has anything to do with custodial disagreements. The fight between his brother could have been just a coincidence and someone came to his window to coax him to come outside. I really don't think this has anything to do with his brother though. Its so common for brothers to have spats when growing up. How old is his brother? tia

I had been following the twitter feed and when I seen they made the media move back and the crime lab truck brought in I just got sick and felt this was probably going to be the outcome.
