One killed, three others critically injured in downtown Denver shooting

Four people were shot, one of them fatally, in downtown Denver late Monday afternoon, authorities said. The shooter or shooters remained at large Monday night.

Few details were immediately available. Doug Schepman, a police spokesman, said only that the incident took place at about 4 p.m. (6 p.m. ET) in the Lo Do neighborhood a few blocks from Coors Field, the home of the Colorado Rockies baseball team.

At least 1 dead, 3 injured in shooting near Denver's Coors Field

Denver police tweeted that the three people were being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

A witness told CBS Denver he saw two men talking before one man then shot the other in the head and continued to shoot.

Denver LoDo neighborhood shooting kills 1, wounds at least 3 others

The shooting happened in the area of 21st and Lawrence streets, south of Coors Field. The shooter is still at large, police said.

It is uncertain whether or not there was one or multiple shooters involved, [Denver police spokesman Doug] Schepman said. He also did not elaborate on any potential motive or other suspect information.
