I am so mesmerized and interested in this woman's testimony. Like watching National Geographic! She is very confident and knowledgeable in her field, and is blowing the defense's animal den, beer can, cow pie excuse.

"How likely would it be that an animal would carry a 13 year old child a mile and a half away?"

NOT LIKELY

  • #504
Sooo fascinating and blowing the Defense Theory sky high. I'm sure they will have their own expert to refute

"Would you expect the backpack, wallet etc to remain behind or the animal take them?"

"I expect them to remain behind."

Bam!

That was a good direct.

I have to leave again, so I won't be able to post what the defense is doing, please someone else do this pretty please

  • #508
I'm not sure it will be a good idea for the defense to spend a lot of time with this witness. It will only give the prosecution the ability to reemphasize their strong points on redirect.

Dylan disappeared in November so attacks and feeding taking place in April or June doesn't matter in this case.

Dr Johnson is repeating and emphasizing her answers from direct. Example: 100 yards is an average longer length a bear will carry prey. This defense attempt is not going well. He is trying to give his impression of an all knowing wildlife expert, but is failing to get her to respond as he would like.

Now...he is suggesting it was a MALE Bear! Because she didn't collar any male Bears..... " Safe to say"....

On direct the prosecution had this witness explain that an animal will not move a carcass or parts over a long distance over difficult terrain.

Site#1 where the most of the remains where found and site#2 where the skull was found were 1.5 miles apart with terrain going up 1500 ft and down 500 ft.

Maybe this one specific individual bear he’s trying to pin it on had the bananas.

We have black bear and I can tell you with certainty, we don’t see any from the end of October until late June. I can also tell you bear get into our neighbors trash. He/she only takes it from the front of their house and into the woods, a few hundred feet away. Sometimes there is a trail of trash from the neighbors leading into the woods, but that’s rare. He/she sits in one spot, goes through it and leaves it there, in a pile until the wind carries some of it away from that spot. He/she doesn’t drag it for miles….MOO

I KNEW that was coming! He already did an objection regarding. "its only female bears"...

Most likely. I suspect that MK deliberately put those sheets and pillow out there afterwards, after he had cleaned up and gotten rid of everything including Dylan. He told them he had nothing of Dylan’s there…not even a chapstick when they were asking for something for his scent.

moo
Why would there be nothing of Dylan's if he had just run away or went fishing or went to see his friends? Even if he had been abducted, there would have been belongings left behind.
