Plead not guilty. $750K bond.

*Trial continues (Day 16) (@ 8am MT) - CO - Dylan Nicholas Redwine (13) (last seen alive Nov. 18, 2012 when he arrived at airport, reported missing on Nov. 19, 2012, Vallecito; found about 8 miles up Middle Mountain Road, a dirt road that cuts through the San Juan National Forest, about 100 yards from the road, directly off an ATV trail on June 27, 2013 & Nov. 1, 2015 his skull was found by hikers about 1.5 miles thru rough terrain from where his remains were found, by road 5 miles.) - *Mark Allen Redwine (50 @ time of crime/55/now 59), "father" indicted (7/20/17), arrested (7/21/17 in Bellingham, WA) & charged (7/21/17) with 2nd degree murder & child abuse resulting in death. Plead not guilty. $750K bond. Jury Trial began on 10/29/20 with jury selection & ended 11/5/20 after Judge Wilson declared mistrial on 11/9/20.

7/12/21 Monday, Trial Day 15: Both sides reached a stipulation over the weekend regarding defense DNA witness stipulating that he’s an expert in DNA interpretation however prosecutor says now the defense has decided not to call Dr. Phil Danielson. Dr. Hall, Animal Behaviorist appears on the screen, while court room discussions are on-going. Judge asked Defense when they might be done with their witnesses & Mr. Bogan said by end of day on Wednesday.

He is accused of killing his teenage son Dylan in 2012.

Prosecutors say Mark disposed of his son's body in the mountains near his home near Durango, Colorado.

During closing arguments, prosecutors said there needs to be justice for Dylan.

'Because of what this defendant did, the world will never know Dylan Redwine beyond that day,' the prosecutor said. 'We'll never know the impact that he would have had on this world today. His high school years, college, future, family of his own-- all those things were robbed by that guy.'

I am seriously hoping that it wasn't a juror who asked such great questions during the trial, who got kicked out today. And hoping for logical and calm heads for the remaining 12.

It's obvious to me after watching this trial that Mark Redwine is guilty in the murder of his son Dylan.

What convinced me was not the DNA/blood evidence or the HRD dog alerts. I was convinced by Mark's own word's and his lack of concern of how the SAR search efforts were going.

His changing stories about Dylan bleeding in his home has no realistic explanation other than he was caught lying and started making up scenario's on the fly that didn't make much sense.

The morning after Dylan went missing Mark exits his house with a cup of coffee and makes himself comfortable on his porch,watching others who have been working on finding his son. He doesn't walk up to them asking if they found him or if they have any new information. Because he knew they where looking in the wrong place at his direction.

The debit card also made an impact on me. There's only one way Mark had that in his possession when every other piece of Dylan's belongings were gone. He took it from Dylan after killing him and got rid of everything else.

The comments Mark made to his son Brandon after Dylan's remains were found are prophetic and damning at the same time. How would Mark know that Dylan's skull would need to be found in order to show blunt force trauma? Because he inflicted the blunt force trauma to Dylan's head and later moved the skull to hide that fact from investigators.

Scientific evidence is not necessary to convince me of Mark's guilt. I only listed a few of the things that he said or did that points towards his guilt and I'm confident in my opinion.

Hopefully the jury will see it the same as I do. It's in their hands now. JMO.

After 9 years of waiting for justice and 5 weeks of a trial, to think that this juror decided to disregard the judge's admonitions and potentially put the whole process at risk is really uncool. Fortunately, they were able to switch to an alternate juror and continue on, but it's things like that that potentially could have led to a mistrial and forced them to start all over again.

I agree that this juror was uncool by talking about MR's guilt. Thankfully this juror was caught before deliberations started so it's not too big of a deal.

If it's found that a juror disregarded the judges admonitions after a guilty verdict then it's a real big problem. JMO

I know. And I really hope the defense team isn't going to make a bigger deal of this and try and find more jurors who may have overheard # 11 saying other things too. They are probably feeling desperate tonight, knowing things didnt go that well, and this would be a chance at mistrial.
