If one member of your family is already missing wouldn't you be leery of letting a stranger into your house?
I certainly would be.

I truly don't mean to be disrespectful...but My Goodness! There's no way to know if the family thanked him or not. I doubt that they would mean to hurt his feelings for a sincere offer of help.
There may be a valid reason for declining his offer. No one on the outside of this case really has any idea about what's going on.
Before criticizing the parents (or criticizing them further, I should say), those so inclined should read denalves's excellent post @ #53, this thread, particularly its last paragraph.
Not if he was an ex-cop who went through the same thing.
bbmWell....I'd have to respectfully disagree again. You can't begin to know what is heartfelt from Baby Lisa's family, and what is not.
I understand why they would be leery of accepting help from a strange man knocking on their door. The family may have had no idea who he is. They may prefer to have him verified first.
I had never heard of Gil, or what happened to his baby until I read the threads here. There's no reason to assume the Jeremy and Debbie had either. Debbie may not even have been born yet.
How would they know that?

And neither can you. When one keeps writing as if they know how this couple acts and reacts, it's wrong if you don't personally know them.
But, knowing for a fact that D&J turned away an ex-cop whose child disappeared---one can say that maybe that wasn't such a good idea--since their baby's been missing 11 days.

But it very well be that they felt that they just turned away another <mod snip> that has come out of the woodwork. We just don't know.bbm

I'm guessing an Ex cop knows how to handle this type thing.
