Gannon Stauch’s mother speaks about case: ‘Please don’t let this go away’

EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KDVR) -- The mother of a missing El Paso County boy is pleading for people to continue spreading the word about the case.

Landen Hiott, Gannon Stauch's mother, spoke with FOX31 and Channel 2's Nicole Fierro on Friday.

"Not knowing where he's at, if he's OK, if he's cold, if he doesn't have food... that's a mom's role. I can't get to him and you kind of feel like a failure when you can't," Hiott said.

Gannon Stauch has not been seen since Jan. 27. Initially listed as a runaway, the status was upgraded to missing-endangered on Jan. 30, the third full day to pass without sign of the boy. Law enforcement continues to call it a missing persons case and has neither said if they suspect foul play or named any suspects.

11 News asked authorities on Monday if there was any information on a possible reward leading to the location of Gannon. As of Monday, no reward is being offered by law enforcement.

Gannon Stauch case: "Hope and despair" remain four weeks after boy's disappearance
Snipped

“Our goal is to find Gannon and bring him home and that has not changed,” she said.

Gannon’s family has not received any reports from law enforcement of confirmed sightings of Gannon since the day he went missing, Coffman said. She asked that anyone with information that might lead authorities to Gannon report that information to the sheriff’s office.

Today marks four weeks since Gannon went missing. We cannot imagine the ongoing pain Gannon's family must be feeling. To not know where your child is, is every parent’s worst nightmare. To not know what happened makes this situation more excruciating. We acknowledge the grief and heartache his family is experiencing.

We appreciate the community's support and continue to encourage you all to keep Gannon's family in your thoughts and prayers.

We continue to make progress in this investigation and are using every resource to find Gannon and bring him home. To date we have received 768 tips. All tips are being explored and all viable leads are being followed up on until they are exhausted.

If you have factual information, we ask you to call the Sheriff's Office Tip Line at 719-520-6666 or email [email protected].

This is still a very active and fluid investigation, with the potential for search efforts to happen at any time. Information will be released as the investigation allows.

The Sheriff's Office PIO will be available from 4:30 - 5:00 PM today for interviews.
