So I'm guessing the 950 miles on the rental car was T driving herself to South Carolina and turning the car in there..

SC is 1700 miles from CO.

Agreed.
I was thinking the best that LE would be able to come up with would be manslaughter or 2nd degree.

1st degree murder in CO doesn't necessarily require deliberation or intent. It can also include an extreme indifference to human life by knowingly engaging in conduct that creates a grave risk of death, and/or knowingly causing the death of a child (not premeditation) for whom you are in a position of trust.

So serious child abuse leading to death would suffice.
Colorado Revised Statutes Title 18. Criminal Code § 18-3-102 | FindLaw

But I think she planned this.

For those of you questioning "why" Al and Landen did not recognize any symptoms of previous abuse. I am a nurse and have seen so many cases of child abuse that had gone unrecognized even by medical professionals. Not all abuse leaves obvious signs of trauma. Often abusers are really good at hiding their abuse. They usually use manipulation to keep the children from telling anyone. They tell the kids that if they tell something terrible will happen to their parents, their siblings, their favorite toys etc. This is why we see so many cases where the abuse went on for years before anyone knew. We are omnipotent to our children, they trust everything we say and do. Especially when a parental figure threatens to do something to punish them if they tell.
Respectfully snipped by me.

You can hear the alleged murderer telling Gannon things on the video that exemplify her manipulation. She told him they would have to sell things in order to fix whatever happened on the carpet AND that the lady who owned the house could evict them (my words not hers).

I have worked with a lot of children who were abused and seen this happen in domestic violence that children witness and child abuse. Your post is spot on.

Is it true child killers have it the worst in prison (compared to other inmates)? I’m hoping. I hope she suffers physically and mentally every day for the rest of her life. She.is.evil.
True. And if I might add, women's prisons are far worse.

I'm curious which one of the search sites this evidence came from. And what other evidence has been found. And what search areas we don't even know about.

Most of all, I am just floored by the monstrosity of this woman. And her glib, convoluted explanations of the evidence of the horror she perpetrated on an innocent little boy. Oh, it easily could have been a woodworking accident or nosebleed with a serious amount of blood loss (as a mom, even little cuts are a big deal when kiddo is bleeding) and the wood just flew out of the truck into the woods?! Like, yeah, these things just happen every day, why are you hassling me?

Yes, this will come out at the trial.
LS is arrested and that's a good development.
Now let's find Gannon.

I worry now what horrors little sister was witness to.
I think she saw or heard something, sadly. Were we able to get the video here? The one from that night?

Is it possible they waited on DNA results on the blood before making an arrest?

I'm a property manager, we would not kick someone out for spilling a wax candle on the carpet. We would make them pay for the repair costs.

Stauch added that her husband told her that Gannon’s sock and a bloody 2×4 board were found in the woods near Douglas County.

Stauch explained that her family frequently loaded up boards they didn’t need from their garage into the pickup truck, leftovers from her husband’s woodworking hobby. She claimed that there had been several accidents in the garage, which could have easily accounted for a bloodied board.

When asked how the board would have ended up in the woods, Stauch said that things have flown out of the back of the truck before while she was driving. She said the same thing could have happened to the board or Gannon’s sock.

When questioned whether law enforcement specifically told her about the wood or a sock, Stauch said, “LE [law enforcement] have not said one word to me, have not called me.” Gannon Stauch: Stepmom says bloody board was not her fault. She’s now facing child abuse, murder charges [EXCLUSIVE PART 3]

Goodness knows what she did with that board. It is amazing how she just thinks someone would buy the story that Gannon goes missing and coincidentally a board with his blood AND a bloody sock bounced out of the truck and into the woods. She is unbelievable.

At least she has admitted her truck was the source of these items.

My second husband was abusive to my son, his stepfather. I traveled a lot for my job and had no idea until my son began showing some behavioral issues unlike him. Took him to therapy and it all came out. He did not tell me because his stepfather threatened to be harder on him if he did. Once I found out, I filed for divorce. And had him served to leave the house.
you are a good parent!!! you handled this for him once you knew
