every time I follow a case, I think the suspect is the worst liar and stupidest criminal I've ever seen
and then someone like TS comes along ...

I'm here for Gannon and now to see justice for him and his family. Let it move forward.
I pray he is found today and returned to his family.
Today, I too want this.
I never said it before, never specified a today, now I feel more motivated, cos Landen.
Today would be the best day.

I've seen SO MANY pictures of Gannon watching out for his little sister...from birth onward. I hope his gentle spirit will continue to do so.

Both parents trusted her and she killed their son. I can't imagine the pain they're feeling. I'm sorry, but she's a monster. She took that kid out of the house ALIVE and he never came back.

Maybe.

But fingerprints are required. And to get a license, copies of transcripts, and those likely contained different names (esp her undergrad one.) I was surprised she was licensed by two states but upon reflection, I'm not.

If what I'm looking at now is correct re: her criminal record, it's pretty minor. Gannon Stauch stepmom previously arrested for battery, domestic abuse and theft

Ignoring the headline, it sounds like her only conviction as an adult was for stealing a car. That was a felony but somehow it was reduced to a misdemeanor. (?) A bunch of other charges were dropped. Some traffic charges were paid with fines in Virginia. And it looks like the most recent stuff--the DV charge-- was dropped too.

I don't think for a teaching license charges without convictions would be a problem. And really, they shouldn't be. There are bad apples who might pursue bogus charges and besides, "innocent until proven guilty" would be the rule vs "where there's smoke there's fire." Especially since none of the charges related to children. JMO

You are correct in this. And even with a conviction depending on the age or circumstance they might still hire a teacher. From what I understand the only way you wouldn't get hired is if you omitted it or lied about it on the application.

Nowadays most people know that it would take mere minutes for them to uncover anything with your fingerprints. But decades ago it was different. People could actually lie about it. So I guess it's just a holdover in mentality.

although I’d suspected from the start that there would be a sad end for Gannon, todays news hit me like a ton of bricks. I am overwhelmed with sadness for Gannon’s Family and friends.

No surprise that his stepmother has been arrested, and clearly for LE to charge her with first degree murder and three other charges they have plenty of evidence.

May Gannon’s family be lovingly supported through their grief now and into the future, it’s going to be a long difficult road for them to traverse.
Good to see you back, missed you.

Re: TS's statement, paraphrasing, "I bandaged him up, he was good to go."

As in, his bleeding was under control so it wouldn't stain seats in the truck.

If TS had turned herself in (and not cause his demise) and taken responsibility for having abused Gannon that weekend/Monday, the charges against her would be severe but not like what she's facing now.

I still can't get the audio of Gannon (as heard on the 'accidentally recorded' video) out of my mind, as it replays over and over.

As wicked as that entire scene must have been, I want to know it. I want to know exactly what transpired, and most notably, WHY.

I want to attempt to understand how a sick mind progresses toward that final terror. There must be something common to key on, demonstrative from that scene that if known previously could have been used to intervene or prevent what eventually came to a head in those last days. I expect the details would be specific to the context but I'd bet there would be something that those who lived with her knew about her but didn't have enough information to piece it all together that would cause a realization that such a personality could be triggered in to committing murder.

I know there have been studies, ad nauseam, on this topic but something must be missing because it seems we're no closer to identifying when a pinnacle approaches, how to defuse it and how to ensure it never reoccurs. At the moment, we can only wait for the result and then punish the behavior.

The Stauch family has a long road ahead of them. The person who eventually loses the most? Gannon's little sister; being old enough to understand while being so young that she has to live with not knowing how the relationship of brother-sister blossoms over the years, matures in to adulthood and how that enriches all who would know them.

I don't think I can sleuth these cases any longer.

eta: clarification

In your opinion, is there even a small chance she will let anyone know where she put Gannon?
What approach would be needed for her to lead them to Gannon?
She would have to have human decency and empathy in order to do that.

LE might have some leverage to work with, such as offering her a deal in exchange for revealing where the body is, but it's hard to say what she will do.

Based on what we know of her so far she may just continue to say she had nothing to do with it.

Imo

I agree today. Something in the last thread a couple folks brought up that doesn’t sit well with me is still questioning Palmer Lake. I wanted to say why. From the springs to Denver everything in between is divided up in two parts East of I25 and West. Castle Rock is about 45 min from the springs and most of the town is built out on east side of the highway. Palmer Lake is pretty far west. I just don’t see her driving that far down 105 West (about 15 miles) to a completely frozen over pond. Trust me, it’s a pond. It’s open all the way around with houses lining the east side. Dogs are all over and even in the winter, people ice skate and Ice fish on it. There’s nowhere for her to dump a body around Palmer lake. Maybe that will help folks who are not local, understand the dynamics of the land around here. Praying today is the day the bring Gannon home.
