#LeteciaStauch is now in the Saline County jail according to the sheriff's office.

That's Kansas.

Just checked with @EPCSheriff, they weren't able to tell me why she's there instead of on her way back.

Checking with Kansas sheriff.

Who says she isn't on her way back, though?

I'm no geography expert, but if you're taking a cross-country road trip from SC to CO, Kansas lies between the two.

I take this news as confirmation that LE has, in fact, been transporting TS back to CO via vehicle.

It's a long drive. The officers accompanying her have to sleep some time.

I can't tell you how much I love this decision by LE to take the long way home.
That. Is. Genius.
I want to know who had that idea, because it's freaking brilliant.

I'll bet they hand-picked two really strapping, handsome male LEOs to "escort" her back, too.
TS wouldn't be able to resist trying to engage them in conversation.

That motor-mouth of hers has likely been running nonstop the entire time.

I hope they're recording her every word.

JMO.

Her being in Kansas has nothing to do with the rental car. When transporting prisoners across the country by car, it’s common for jails to house the suspect as a courtesy. People have to sleep after all.

I recall reading about one high profile case where no jails would accept the suspect (I think he was a serial killer or something), and the officers had to drive non-stop.

That’s seems to be rare though. She’ll be back in Colorado by tomorrow.

I have family in CO and have made that drive out west at least 20 times. Trying to imagine looking out the window on I-80 as a suspect in custody for murder. I can't! lol

I'm curious, if you are driving a person in custody across the country how do you handle that?
Is there a female LE officer with them to monitor bathroom breaks along with stopping for food. Seems there must be in this case.

Kansas?? Why do I specifically remember a poster saying she could have driven to Kansas if that mileage was correct on rental car. Please tell me I’m totally off base here and they are just storing her there for her safety.
I was thinking that exact same thing!

That’s where my mind went as well. I do think it’s unrelated to the rental situation, though.

But ... just in case ;):
From the Colorado Springs Airport to Saline County Sheriff’s Office:
Fastest Route: 405 driving miles or 6 hr. 16 min.;
Slowest Route: 444 driving miles or 7 hr. 7 min.:

I tend to agree, however, it is 1,315 miles from Myrtle Beach to Salina, KS. That's a LONG drive, when do you suppose they left Myrtle beach?

Can you imagine spending that long in a vehicle with her? Probably talking the officers ears off. Hope they have recorders in transit vehicles.

I wouldn't look too deeply into the "in transit" status of her being booked in Kansas. That just means she's being transferred but temporarily housed there until they can get her to where she's supposed to be.

My guess is she’s in Kansas because they actually drove back from S.C. They must have stopped for the night.

So she’s one state away. I imagine by tomorrow morning she’ll be booked in Colorado, and will be able to say “we’re not in Kansas anymore.

I think they drove on purpose.

She can't stay silent the whole way. I think they were hoping to get her to slip up a bit. She gets tired, it's a long trip, lonely....gotta talk cause that's what she does best.

Those poor LE that had to make the trip with her. Their ears must be elephant ears by now.

MOO

A stopover in Kansas, a new mugshot. We’ll have a whole collage of them soon!

I can just imagine one of them snapping: “if you don’t stop talking, we’re going to arrive in Colorado with one less person than we started with.”

@gatorage ? Lol

ETA clarification that we’re wondering if LE will be able to retrieve a deleted video from TS’s phone and iCloud. I’m assuming she deleted the deleted items folder as well. But actually, I think a screenshot I saw of her phone indicated it might have been an Android - so this might be moot...

Great question!!! This is actually kind OSs a multi-parter, but to give you the gist:

Depending on how the media is stored, it’s entirely possible that she had a video and then destroyed her phone. But just like a computer hard drive, there’s almost no such thing as “leave no trace” in the data world, especially with the way extremely physically small hard drives (like the one in your phone) is partitioned. Think of the phone as a computer, and the hard drive as a pie chart. Let’s say that it only saved to photos/video and her phone doesn’t have cloud backup enabled and/or never connects to the internet again.

When you delete something, it leaves a tiny mark behind, like trace evidence. Let’s say it went into the recycling bin and you emptied that. You’ve moved it from at least 2 partitions, or pie pieces, of your hard drive. Maybe it’s not physically there anymore, either. But you’ve dragged it across 2 places, and you’re leaving trace evidence everywhere you go.

There’s also cache, or temporary files, that are saved automatically. If you have certain applications that will upload photos/video to another place (like Facebook will accept a video you’ve recorded yourself, and then make it small enough and fix it so it works on their application). When you select something like “Allow Facebook access to edit files”, you’re giving it permission to “sniff”, or constantly scan, for files. So it may have a small chunk of that video, or it may have the whole thing compressed. If you use Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, same thing.

Let’s talk about the cloud for a hot second. The cloud is great! All hail the cloud! Just kidding. But! It can catch you doing some stuff, and fortunately, there are laws that allow LE to request Preservation, or “save everything that this person is uploading/currently has uploaded, don’t let them delete anything “.

Remember what I said about cache? Cloud backup usually works off of a cache file, a temporary backup, basically. Most companies set an amount of time to cache something. Have you ever used “Undo delete” on a document? That’s cache. Let’s say it’s 24 hours. So LE gets a preservation warrant and sends it to a company requesting cloud data and preservation. That’s very standard in missing endangered cases. Not only can that company save everything that’s on there when they get it, but they can also roll that clock back 24 hours to grab anything that’s been deleted from the cloud by the user and add that to the preservation file. Now LE has the past 24 hours of photos/videos/emails/etc.

In this case, let’s say LE gets a Preservation warrant on Monday the 2nd at 12pm. This goes to tech, who not only preserves what they have currently and going forward, but can preserve anything that went in or out from Sunday at 12:01pm.

Can anyone link pictures of T’s phone/watch? If I could see it, I may be able to provide general info on what they do. It wouldn’t make much sense for her to have an Apple Watch with an Android, because the watch has to be set up with an iPhone, and it works in tandem with it. T is dumb as a bag of hammers, though, so anything’s possible!

Sorry I haven’t been on, I’ve been spending time with the family. Hearing that G was presumed deceased hit me in a way other cases had not, and the press conference was so emotional. I just needed to take some mental health time. I’m back and ready to go, I’m super behind, but am cracking a cold Tank 7 and trying to catch up!!! Love y’all!

TS claimed Gannon allegedly injured his foot (single); only one bloody sock.
But that was Saturday, I think, when he injured his foot. I may have the days confused but that was the day before the hike at GOG, which was the day before the Monday with the both of them leaving in the truck.
Regardless, yes, one foot injured=one sock.
I am just trying to figure out how the sock from saturday fits into being found from her travels on Monday/Tuesday

In one of her Facebook posts she boasted about all the places her kids have seen because of her.

She should hang these mugshots on her cell wall, so she can remember her last vacation:

“This is me visiting South Carolina. Here I am in Kansas...”
