Exclusive: Gannon Stauch’s stepmother releases statement about boy’s disappearance

IMO...I would guess if TS actually had this conversation with LE on DAY ONE, they were definitely on to her. None of her explanations have ever made sense. I also believe the gate key is missing and it’s very possible it will be found near Gannon.

From the article above...
He told me he was checking to see if the gate was locked because he was the only one with a gate key. It made him proud to be the man of the house while Albert was away. Fast forward, we did a hike on Sunday (cleared), and shopping on Monday ( cleared as well for him getting out of the other side). Please don’t think for a second that there isn’t enough of technology to determine shadows and movement around the truck. There was also proof from my phone that we had taken a selfie in the truck in our driveway that was time stamped. We always send pictures to Albert when we are out and about or when he is away. That can be scanned for actual time verification. Last, from day one the Sheriff's office has known a description of the person/friend whom Gannon left with.

I explained to them and provided evidence. They had information about G having the key to go out the side gate. Last they have more in-depth details that go along with this pointing to who sent the person or why he may have come. Again, I repeat they have had this Initially and I was asked to keep quiet about it so they could have the best shot at doing their job and bringing G home.
The last thing that they needed was a hindrance to their investigation. I encourage you to think of any suspicious cars that may have been in the area watching a few days prior and keep praying for G!

the 960 miles.
didn't she return the car with no fuel in it?
so at a minimum she did a full tank of fuel mileage.
all hire cars come fully gased ready to go.
were I live we talk litres and kilometres and petrol so I'm only estimating someone tell me please....
wouldn't 960 miles equate to 2 tanks of gas use?
so if she had to have travelled 450 mileage to do a tank who says she couldn't have done 2???
the time permits. it is possible if 2 tanks of gas indeed would travel that amount of distance imo.

so at the end of the day can we all agree she did specifically 1 tank of gas (and the kms on the speedo don't matter) or she did 2. (and the speedos readings are noted accurately) no where inbetween.

its one tank of gas or two because the car arrived at the airport empty.

moo

You're right. If she did in fact drive 900+ miles, she had to refuel along the way.

Yes - although the video was never created for us. It is what it is. We the public certainly do not have all of the video, that much is clear.

And we don't know what was brought back. But I'll bet that AS noticed a few things out of place upon his return. I can't even imagine what he went through on Tuesday. I hope he realizes that no one could possibly have anticipated where this was going to go, there are lots of people with personality issues that do not murder their stepchildren. And plenty of couples who squeak by difficult times without these horrible consequences.

But I'm guessing that by Tuesday evening, AS was bursting at the seams with questions he would have liked to have asked TS.
... if she was gone (kicked out or left) from the home on Tuesday. But had left the truck at the airport to pick up the rental car and Al. WHO picked up the truck and when? The rental car was returned Wednesday afternoon - who picked TS from the airport?

It’s hard to fathom any way that one you might “accidentally” kill a 90 lb 11 year old. It seems like it would be hard enough to kill someone if you were actively trying. I don’t buy any accident theories. Even if she was pathologically enraged. Think about it. It takes a lot to kill someone, unless u shot them, and that’s rarely an “accident.”

In general yes beating someone to death is more commonly described as damn hard than easy. Possibly she had an 'unlucky' strike and ruptured his spleen or similar. He was only little. The murder then could become the act of not seeking emergency medical attention.

And this is (part of) why I don’t believe the 900 miles... she would not have filled up with gas.

Well, people here on WS have been contending that when she says she drove "my car" to the airport, it was her VW SUV. So, AS would have gotten home and seen his truck. There are a total of four vehicles involved, so it's confusing.

Anyway, presumably it was her VW SUV that she now moved from the driveway, to the airport, and then picked up and drove. That would mean that AS had a look at his own truck earlier (than if she hid the truck at the airport while she tooled around in the rental).

In that way, she needed no pick-up. When she had her run-in with LE at Marshall's, I'm not sure, but it seems she was getting a ride from her daughter at that point.

During the trial as part of her defense will LS provide a description of the "friend" who came to get Gannon that Monday afternoon?

Will she also clarify whether or not she backed in to the driveway or parked at the curb upon returning from the 'shopping trip' that Monday?

Will she also describe what Gannon did immediately after they allegedly returned from the 'shopping trip'? Change clothes? He would have had to because what he was wearing before the shopping trip was not what he was described as wearing when he allegedly left to visit a friend, as described on Gannon's missing person poster.

Frustrating... as the wheels of justice turn ever so, so so slowly. Slowly. Too slowly. Too damned slowly.

Toss her in to the main line population, already.
The clothes bother me. Obviously he was wearing something different the day they left on Monday as we see in video. Could she only recall what he had worn on Sunday because it was etched into her brain for obvious reasons. Or did she plan on nobody seeing RD video and she thought it would be another way to make it difficult to identify him. Either way it supports her guilt.

**LS never says they went to Burger King to eat.

She said "got burger king."
She said it was GS's favorite.

Just wondering, since the older daughter and younger daughter went together to Dollar Tree....could the same two pick up BK to bring home?

That would leave TS and GS alone in the house.

She never tells us GS ate BK either.

Just pondering some thoughts..

I hope they've accounted for his pajamas. It shouldn't be hard to decide what he was wearing (or not wearing) ... what's on his bedroom floor or in his hamper - that's what he's NOT wearing. MOO

Here’s the issue with that. Gannon walked to that vehicle, and TS left her phone at home.

I don’t think the odds are all the great that he would suddenly die during the period of time they were out. Couple that with her leaving her phone at home, and I really don’t like that scenario.

So when they climbed in that car, she knew he wasn’t coming back. Regardless of if any injuries would have been fatal if left untreated, she did something that ended his life.

It’s a first degree murder charge any way you slice it, but I don’t think he succumbed to the injuries that likely started all of this.

The way Gannon’s community has come together to show support & love to him and his family is beautiful.

With the evidence I’m assuming LE has against LS (considering what she’s being charged with despite there not being a body) combined with the fact that she seems incapable of keeping her mouth shut, I’m optimistic that she will not have a fighting chance when it comes time for her trial.

RSBM...
So she shared with LE the abduction plot and as she says..." Again, I repeat they have had this Initially and I was asked to keep quiet"
So please T, explain the rental? If abducted, wouldn't Gannon be thrilled to see dad's truck?

I don't think we got a straight answer on Sunday re Garden of the Gods. (whether the older dtr was working or went or if there were 2 trips to GOG).... THAT's when they supposedly had BK, which would make sense to pick up on the way home (not that anything makes sense) ... Wonder how often the older child took the kids anywhere or if Monday was a one off. MOO

Yeah, I get the feeling that when we see that arrest affidavit, we’re going to be saying “game over.”

Quite possible big sister took little sister out to grab food for the family. This could be a part of their familial norms. I know my little one goes everywhere I go while her big sisters tend to stay home.

Unfortunately, I think you’re right. LS did something to Gannon that she knew wouldn’t be written off by doctors, teachers, or his dad. It’s pretty obvious that in LS’s mind, the world revolves around her, so in order to save herself, she did what she thought was necessary to avoid being held accountable for her actions. JMO

You can watch the videos for yourself. Many of us have noticed said bag.

Obviously, no one living in the house has given MSM an interview regarding their guns or whether any were missing. How would Rodney know what was in the bag? Why would he be giving further commentary (especially given how much people have inspected the very little that he's said - it's just good that he provided the video, IMO).

I'd say that we all need to watch the driveway videos a few times.
Rodney? Are you talking about the neighbor Rodderick Drayton?

I have a partial transcript of her backwards interview.

Could someone give me the full transcript?

@Fieldofpoppies Welcome to Websleuths!!

You make a good point. At this point, why would anyone think TS was able to pull-off the roll of a loving mother, frantic that her stepson is missing.
LE suspicious from the beginning?? They weren't as dumb as TS needed them to be.

Please don't be put off by my sarcasm. Its not that doubt the skills of LE, it is that I don't want to see the bad guy get away with such a horrific evil deed.

I think LE was on to her or at least had strong suspicions from the get go too. Hearing about his "alleged" Google search, interviewing her & looking around the house/yard the night Gannon was reported as a runaway, LS saying she didn't see him leave & didn't know which friend he was going to visit, seeing the bizarre missing flyers that LS made= red flags & suspicion. I'm not LE, but I'm a mom and I thought things didn't sound right when the story ran on our CO news Tues am. Look at her mannerisms, body language, and how she talked in that interview.......we all knew seeing that, do you think she was different when LE first spoke to her on Monday night? I think not!

I think LS threw a tantrum with AS on purpose because he had LH (the woman she was jealous of & despised) staying in their home. She probably was upset about this but it was the perfect excuse that she needed to leave the home. I'm sure at that point AS & LH were concentrating on finding their child, not a love triangle. If that saucer sized pool of blood was in Gannon's room (I think it was) are we supposed to believe that no one (not LE, AS, or LH) didn't notice it immediately on Tuesday? I guess it could've been concealed or covered somehow, but if your kid was missing wouldn't you carefully look around his bedroom for clues or to see if anything was missing? So I think that either AS discovered it on his own on Tues or LE pointed it out to him like LS said in the Crime Online interview. Regardless, I think it was found on Tues so they were on to LS for sure by then. Pure speculation, but I think LE had eyes on TS from this point hoping that she would lead them to Gannon.
