Rental Car Fuel Plans

I swear i found it here but now it says 15.99 a gallon. If you google there are a lot of people surprised by how much rental companies (not just budget) charge for gas.

That’s 15.99 extra if you drive less than 75 miles.

I’ve paid a refueling fee on several occasions, and it’s inflated, but nothing crazy.

A friend of mine works as a manager at Enterprise, and he estimated the cost to fill up that tank from empty would be around $40.

Leigh stated the total was approximately $219

And 119 was the fuel charge according to @leighEg if i am correct.

Did u guys see that Life Flight was on board. I wonder if they got a tip of someone seeing child standing w adult on a cliff or worse. If so you’d think they’d also have brought in mountain climbers etc. Although I’m not sure who LE would employ to do search and rescue on mountains/sides of cliffs. Maybe firefighters specially trained? I know some are specially trained for water rescue. Anyone know?

I hope with all of my being that falling/being pushed off a cliff wasn't the last thing Gannon saw and went through.

Yes, they are hardest to treat. Personality Disorders are usually formed during childhood or adolescence, while one's personality is developing so it can be a life long challenge. Jmo

Yeah I had to rent a vehicle (Ford Explorer) three times in 2019 to drive round trip to Texas, 2000 miles, and if I didn’t pay for the refill, they only charged $4.50 a gallon. No way was I going to allow them to charge me that much. If they had said it would be $9.99 it would have been a deal breaker.

I doubt seriously that Budget would charge anyone $9.99. Just saying.

There are several volunteer search and rescue groups in the Springs and surrounding areas. Probably many fire fighters, EMTs, and police are trained in climbing rescues given all the outdoor activities people take part in here. As far as I know, flight for life is only used in rescues when someone has actually been found injured and cannot be walked or carried (vehicle/foot) out due to remoteness of the location or seriousness of the injury.

I just rented a van to move a friend a few weeks ago. Before we left they checked the milage and gas and we were charged for going over the allocated milage. We filled the van back up with gas to the level it was at before we left and didn't have to give them a receipt.

The Flight for Life helicopter was deployed briefly and explicitly for aerial search purposes only.

The search and rescue teams that have assisted thus far have extensive specialty rescue/recovery capabilities, including high-angle (using ropes on cliffs) and water. Being on the CO front range, these teams routinely run technical rescue operations like that.

Trying to think of other reasons that two stops at the same location might even hypothetically make sense … there have been conjectures about needing to temporarily deaccession a phone, or a "borrowed" product from the store shelves … but what about a swap of something *else* that would then have needed to be reversed? What about maybe having done a vehicle swap?

It would seem the simple answer would be for an alibi (T does state that she DIRECTED LE to go see the proof of her Petco visit via video!)--though it remains to be seen whether items purchased were used in any nefarious way thereafter. As to why she went there a second time...another poster perfectly articulated her reasoning, IMO. It may have been GordianKnot. ??? IMO, any/all your conjectures are possible, as well.

It's rare but FFL will occasionally fly for search purposes only. EPCSO said they flew for that purpose alone.

Why wouldn't she just fill the tank herself or whatever was required to avoid any extra charges? I thought she was trying to be "economical?"

IMO, it could be a instant death on impact or not and the person could survive initially but untimely pass away. Wilderness SAR folks could speak to this.

For me, this would be a risk for the guilty because are they alive or not when I walk away?
