I’ll have to go find a picture. I didn’t notice but I love it!
on one wrist he has a watch and on the other arm a blue band....now that I think about it it could be a ...thin blue line bracelet......but it looks like a Gannon one.

I hope your cold gets better.

As for the defense, it isn’t arguable. In this day and age, anyone should know to carry a handkerchief with them at all times. It is indefensible.
Thank you and she’s showing very early symptoms, the cough. And, I will back off on my statement about “showing up and being professional”, it’s not...but I’m so glad she did to avoid delays. And thank you again!

That, plus the whole PTA meeting demeanor and attire were unprofessional as well.

Oh I thought her clothes were fine. Professional enough. I just am super aware of coughing and hygiene at the moment!!!

If child abuse charges imply a length of time it makes you wonder whether anyone around her has culpability in a failure to report.
Not unless they knew it was going on and didn't do anything to stop it. If a parent knows that the other parent has a history of abuse they might be charged with child abuse or neglect for allowing it to continue, depending on the circumstances.

I don't know, I guess we will have to wait until we read about the enormous amount of evidence they have.

It could not have taken very long to go into the store and buy dog coats. They were gone for four hours.

Maybe he died at some point during that truck ride and she panicked so she began scheming and planning what to do with him and how to cover her tracks.

Imo
I don’t believe her tale about Valentine bikes and gear for Gannon, and she was surprised when confronted with the PetCo visit, so given her bloody board and sock problem, it seems to me that she left with him to do away with him. I’m not parsing charges, just saying I don’t think they went out on a shopping mission and then he died on her and she didn’t see that coming.

Solid write-up on today’s hearing, IMO:

“The parents of 11-year-old Gannon Stauch sat in a front row in court Tuesday as the stepmother accused in the missing boy’s presumed murder made a brief appearance.

The defendant, Letecia Stauch, 36, was formally charged with first-degree murder and three other counts.

She did not address the court during a roughly 15-minute hearing, but whispered several times to one of the public defenders representing her.

Nor did she look at Gannon’s parents, Albert Stauch and Landen Hiott, who sat next to each other and kept their gaze trained on the judge. Letecia Stauch’s long black hair mostly hid her profile from observers in the gallery.

The courtroom was filled to capacity, except for a front row reserved for Letecia Stauch’s supporters, which remained empty.

Fourth Judicial District Judge Gregory Werner ordered that prosecutors ‘immediately’ provide the defense with a copy of Letecia Stauch’s arrest affidavit. That document, which lays out grounds for her arrest, remains under a sealing order.

The judge said he will issue a written order later in response to a motion filed by numerous media outlets, including The Gazette, that the document be made available to the public. The prosecution said it did not object to the media request. The defense, which as [sic] asked for a gag order limiting pretrial statements in the case, has already filed a response opposing the document’s release.

More than 1,000 pages of law enforcement reports and at least 107 search warrants have been generated thus far; lead prosecutor Michael Allen also cited ’tons‘ of video footage, obtained from cell phones and other sources.

Because none of the material has been made available to the defense, the judge set an April 13 review hearing at which he will address next steps in the case. The judge could decide then whether any of the investigative materials will be publicly available under the state’s open record’s [sic] laws, or if they will be kept under seal.

At a news conference afterward, Allen didn’t rule out a potential death-penalty bid against Letecia Stauch, saying his office will evaluate both whether the case is eligible for a capitol trial and whether prosecutors will pursue one.

His comments come even as Democratic lawmakers in Colorado mull a repeal of the death penalty in Colorado.

Prosecutors filed the same four counts announced at the time of the defendant’s arrest. They are first-degree murder of a child less than 12 by one in a position of trust; child abuse resulting in death; tampering with a body; and tampering with evidence.

The ’position of trust’ element of the murder charge lowers the bar prosecutors must prove to obtain a mandatory life term in prison.

Prosecutors generally must prove that someone intended to kill and deliberated for causing someone’s death. In the case of the charge against Letecia Stauch, the prosecution need only prove that she ’knowingly’ caused the boy’s death.

The child abuse count his [sic] the second-highest charge against her, carrying a potential penalty of up to 48 years in prison.

[SBM]

She wore a lime-green jumpsuit in court Tuesday, indicating she is likely being kept separate from other inmates. Sheriff’s spokeswoman Deborah Mynatt did not return a voicemail inquiring about Letecia Stauch’s custodial arrangements.

Oh dear, that’s an interesting twist.

I lost it watching the video Al released through his church. It hurts so bad. I am just miles away from his “home”. Thought I was a more hardened than that, from all my sleuthing. I do appreciate Al releasing that to remind us WHO this is about. GANNON not his horrible killer.

That act is not going to work. Be filthy. No one cares. Meanwhile, check out her finger:

The judge better not see that. In this state you get removed immediately!

Gannon is my hero!... I tried to copy that in a natural way of clasping my hands... nope, that takes practice...MOO

Ha, ha. Glad to know I'm not the only one to have tried. And yes, you have to work at it. Too bad LS can't call Leigh Egan and give her an explanation on how her fingers just naturally fell into that position..

And for everyone who is sick with a big cold, local health department (I called) indicates a very high fever (104 - adults) is tell tale difference bw Coronavirus and cold.

We just had statewide training today in California and that's not what they told us. We had about 6 different layers of health people tell us that you can have Coronavirus and have no symptoms (lucky you), or you can have mild cold symptoms WITHOUT FEVER (not too bad) or you can have a low fever or a high one (at which point, it resembles flu).

Look for some courts to close if there are actual cases in their cities. Millions of new test kits going out, and all those positives will fuel something like hysteria, I'm sure (MOST of us are going to live through this). OTOH, I'm aware that I'm in a vulnerable age group so all the youngsters coming to school sneezing and coughing are annoying to me. We are supposed to send them home for 14 days. I think tomorrow they'll announce they are closing the college altogether (except for certain kinds of classes - like nursing).

If TS had one shred of empathy or compassion, she would give up Gannon’s location without a plea. I’m afraid she s not and her self centered nature will, most likely, prevent her from ever admitting to causing him harm. She will always be the hero in her own mind, e.g., she took care of him when his mom would not (of course I don’t believe that) and that she is the victim. Evil incarnate Chris Watts at least gave up his family’s location and admitted to what he did (though with lies and deceit) which allowed his wife’s family some peace. I think the latter had selfish motivations for confessing so maybe I’m wrong and TS will find it in her best interest to tell the truth. Once the affidavit and discovery is presented, she may see it is a losing battle.

As others have said, it was disconcerting to see the defense attorneys laughing and smiling, coughing or no coughing. It, to me, is exceeding disrespectful to the family and to Gannon’s memory. Nothing about this should be funny to them and they would do well to keep that in mind, especially in front of a jury who will be privy to, likely, the absolutely horrific details of the case.

IMO
