BBM:

In a practical sense, you're probably right.

I'm looking at it this way, though:

Governor Polyps or whatever his name is has just commuted the sentences of the 3 barbaric murderers currently sitting on death row.

It likely wouldn't be a very popular move, even with Coloradans who supported the repeal of the dp, to commute TS's sentence if a jury voted that she receive the death penalty.

It would make for an interesting poll question for Colorado voters:

"Do you favor the commutation of death sentences for women who bludgeon, stab and shoot children under the age of 12? Please answer "Yes" or "No."

Politically, I'm thinking that would not be a terribly smart move.

I think if TS was sentenced to the dp, it would give even Polyps Polis pause before he issued the commutation order.

And if it didn't give him pause, it would likely fodder for his opponents, and/or create the climate for more victim-friendly politicians to be elected.

Thinking long game, one can definitely make an argument for pursuing the death penalty, despite the current nonsense the governor is pulling with his commutations.

Who wouldn't love to see TS be the last person executed in the State of Colorado?

JMO.

I'm in Colorado, and I don't want to see anyone executed.

Please feel free to correct me if I'm wrong here, but "RD the video neighbor" is NOT on the witness list for discovery, while at least eleven other Lorson Ranch neighbors are. RD told news people that he sped up and slowed down portions of the tape, trying to catch detail; and it is obvious to anyone that sees the tape that it is spliced, with lengthy gaps of time deleted. There is nothing wrong with doing any of that, but it would seem to me to be impossible to introduce something that is altered in so many ways as evidence WITHOUT the testimony of the editor, for verification. In my opinion, the tape may have started the investigation in a different direction, but it does not appear to me to be evidence in the case at this time. JMO, IANAL

Did RD really admit to altering the video?? Also, are tapes still in use? And if so, was it before the LE took it or made copies? I don't remember this important detail being discussed, etc.

The stabbing part is what completely changed my view on this. I was initially leaning towards her accidently hurting him out of some kind of overkill rage snapping in the moment type thing, then panicking and "getting rid of him" to save her own 🤬🤬🤬. But when i heard about stabbing that completely through me off, shooting somebody and killing them quickly possibly instantly is one thing, stabbing is something somebody is more likely to do when there is some kind of evil sick hate filled intent. stabbing somebody while they are alive is one of the most inhumane way's to go about it, not that any other way is good don't get me wrong but shooting somebody point blank to try and cause no pain and make it instant is one thing, stabbing them on the other hand screams physco.

Oh my. What an odd and random thing to say to me.

Jk. Boxes are fine. I'm not picky and I'm less picky by the day. Cheers!

*love and hugs to all*

Between my relief that Gannon had been found so his parents would at least have that closure and thankfulness that step-monster did NOT have that card to play anymore, apologies as my heart was breaking before but now trying to accept the horrors that poor boy had to endure....

The "tapes" are not physical. They are uploaded to an external site and I'm sure that LE would be able to get a copy of an unaltered version. IMO

Edited to add: Newcloud is on the witness list and this might possibly where the video is uploaded to. So they will have their expert there to verify it's authenticity, time, date, etc. Info goes from the camera to the cloud, so RD would not be needed. IMO

The answer to your first question is yes. Sorry, I can't answer the next two.

My point is that the video that we all have seen is not normally admissible as evidence without testimony from it's editor / creator, and he is not listed as a potential testifier. LE has given no assurance publicly that the tape has any value other beyond incidental evidence. My own opinion is that the video is interesting as a point of discussion, but it is not all-important to LE's case against LS. IMO

I googled Escambia River to look at the map. I have to say as someone only looking at a map it would appear to be a giant swamp right there. Perhaps LS believed it would be muddy wetlands. Thank goodness it wasn’t.

Thank you! That's what I thought, and so the term splice would not apply, correct?

How did he admit altering? Maybe I missed that. Slowing down and speeding up is something you can do with the remote.

I thought he was saying he could rewind, fast-forward, watch it at fast speed, or slowed down, etc... not that he released a video that was altered. In fact, I thought he was comparing his ability to slow it down, compared to how the released video was more whole and we might not see things he saw.
RD said: “I watched the video. I could slow it down, speed it up. I know he didn`t come home with her. I knew something-- she done something with him or to him."

Gannon Stauch stepmom reveals where she went the day Colorado boy disappeared [EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW]
It’s been one month since 11-year-old Gannon Stauch vanished from his Colorado home. As part of our investigative report, CrimeOnline spoke exclusively with the last known person to see him. Tecia...

Leigh Egan@LeighEgan

Feb 27 Interview was done earlier this week, on Monday

Ok, so Monday would have been February 24th. So maybe my thought that TS told her family she was pregnant and in the hospital could be possible?

If one of you WS'ers could ask this question of Leigh via Twitter, maybe she will give her thoughts on the possibility.
To what? Explain why she took so long to get to SC? We need to know the date she was 'in the hospital' to know what she was Liesplaining. (it could be as easy as not wanting to an interview she already committed to) MOO

My views are so grey on execution. I am A-OK with serial murderers being executed. Or when extreme torture is involved. We had a death penalty verdict in my home county recently. 47 years there and I'm sure there were more, but the only one so close to my prior home that I remember. And I just feel really, really uncomfortable about it. I would really have to wait for the trial and hear the details to know how I would even feel about it. But I think it's a mute point in CO so I don't even know why I'm rattling on about it. It's just driving me nuts (but understandable) that charges and trials may be delayed due to the virus.

"Did RD really admit to altering the video??"

Would you (or anyone) happen to have a link or reference that I could read regarding this admission? Thanks!

What? Please show where he “admitted this” in MSM.
