I think you are referring to GS and how his name appears on the endorsed witness list. This is legal procedure between the parties and has nothing to do with Life Insurance or alleging that GS next of kin is beneficiary of his life insurance.

The endorsed witness list is part of the court process to show that one party (Prosecutor) is giving the other party (Defense) "notice" that they MAY call a particular witness at trial. This is done so that the other party can't try to stop a witness from testifying on the basis that the party is "surprised."
MOO it is part of the basic right of being allowed to know what evidence and witnesses are going to be presented against you in court.
LS is very persitent and determined, she keep on swinging. It is really too bad she couldn't have found a way to use that force for good.

Anyone else think there could be a life insurance policy involved??

I've always been puzzled over the listing on the witness that's listed as:
Gannon Stauch
c/o Next of Kin of Gannon Stauch

Then I got to thinking, is this referring to a life insurance policy that LS had taken out on Gannon that LE discovered? Typically the benefit for a child is very little, but knowing how stupid & evil LS is I wouldn't put it past her! This would speak to motive & premeditation!

MOO & speculation
I wondered this as well. For the exact same reason!

Can anybody remember a case where a child was murdered for life insurance?

IMO, it doesn't happen because you can't buy a stand-alone term life insurance policy for a child.

Most child life insurance policies are whole life, a type of permanent life insurance (provides a savings vehicle -- cash surrender value).

Nope -- don't expect to see this ever happening (unless regulations change). MOO

ETA: Employee benefits often include a burial stipend for minors but no stand-alone policy worthy of murder for payout.

Our company offers dependent life insurance for employee's children. It's a $5,000 policy, basically to help with burial expenses, IME it's pretty common.

If Gannon was murdered for life insurance money, I’ll eat my hat.

Yeah, I think they definitely lost track of her at some point.

We know she was trying to evade and run from LE, because after her arrest she told the judge, "I wasn't running from you guys."

She also told her friend they thought she was still in Colorado.

Maybe they lost track of her after the second rental was returned. They may not have known what vehicle she was driving or where she was staying.

I don't think they had any idea she had moved the body to Florida.

Imo
Don’t most who on the run, like escapees, end up going back home if they are given enough leeway and/or time?
I bet NC and/or SC (though personally I’m leaning towards SC) was the first state that they looked for her when they realized that they had lost their tail. MOO.
But who really knows. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

If Gannon was murdered for life insurance money, I'll eat your socks.

That wasn't what motivated this murder.

I'll see your hat and raise you.

In that case we’ll have two dead children (yes, I worded that correctly).

Sadly, small life insurance policies on children used to be sold in poor neighborhoods with an agent going weekly to collect. I don't know if selling them to the poor is still a thing.

Never mind the wording, I'm just impressed that you actually used parentheses correctly in a sentence.

Refreshing!

I remember Gerber baby food company selling them, they still may.

Sorry I guess I'm just stupid. Won't happen again.

Not stupid at all. ;)

There have been cases of children murdered for insurance payouts.

It is exactly why many states changed the laws regarding juvenile policies.

A small amount might seem like the jackpot for someone like Tee. I highly doubt that was her motive but the wording on the witness list does make one wonder. What is that about? I think it is the ransom email. It will be interesting to see if half these witnesses even make it to the stand.
ETA: I bet Eguardo won't:rolleyes:o_O

Whole life policies. Like Seattle1 said, they are long term investments. Life insurance never crossed her tiny little brain.

Yeah, that would have been a long term play, and I think this all happened very quickly.

Besides that, you need a body if you hope to get a relatively quick payout.

Until proven otherwise, I continue to believe this was murder to coverup abuse.

I did not have the pleasure of knowing Gannon, who looks like an absolutely amazing young man. That gorgeous smile and those beautiful eyes! I cannot imagine the anguish and nightmare his parents are experiencing. For some reason, this darling little boy has captured my heart and I can't let him go. I keep hoping that when I check in that he will be safe, that this whole thing was a hoax or a misunderstanding. I know in my heart that won't happen, but I can't stop hoping. I've never felt like that with any other case and plenty of other sweet babies have grabbed at my heart. I am heart broken continuously as more details unfold. I don't know how a parent finds comfort and peace in a time like this, but I pray they do. I want them to remember their beautiful boy with such joy and no sorrow.

Remember Zenaida "Zanny" Fernandez-Gonzalez who sued Casey Anthony for ruining her good name?

Let us hope there exists one person named Eguardo somewhere in this world and he can be convinced to sue dear T for defamation!

I think that change is coming regardless, right?
