Hey everyone!

I took a hiatus for a long while. COVID, cross country move, new job, life... You know how it is.

Can I get a cliffsnotes version of what has happened over the last several months?

I saw the crazy letter to the judge but kinda fell off the planet after that.

not a day goes by where I don't think of Gannon. my heart goes out to his family preparing for a Christmas that he should be a huge part of. Can't believe we're coming up to a full year on this case

What in the name of Dolly Parton did I just read!?!?

I'm in the UK, woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep so started reading and ended up reading the entire thing.

At the point of it being written, Gannons remains were not yet found.

On one hand ... do I think that any mental illness or psychological/psychiatric impairment was responsible for Leticia killing Gannon? NO.

BUT, She is definitely 'not right in the head' as we say here.

Her actions afterwards are just so unbelievable and ridiculous that quite honestly no one is going to accept a word she says.

I think she is going for the crazy defense so she can escape the mental hospital. Hopefully they see the evil instead of the fakeazz crazy.

Escape the mental hospital? Do you mean that you think she hopes to be sent to a psychiatric facility instead of prison so she might have a better chance to Escape?

I have to say, from everything I've seen, heard and read, I don't think her particular brand of 'crazy' is fake. I think she is playing up to it on some occasions but, I do think she's genuinely unhinged because 'normal', sane people don't batter defenceless children to death ... do they?

Anyone know "what" happened to the case against Sherie Farstveet? It was in Adams county. She had a hearing on 12/10 & was supposed to have a trial on 2/25/21 - but she has disappeared from the court site...

TIA if someone can find something!

Hi @Niner! I can’t find it either. I also looked for recent news but found nothing but the original media reports. Maybe they dropped the charges?

They probably did drop the charges - I know she did get fired. Guess I'll just put her "case" in my completed files...

Thanks for taking the time to look!

I recall the October hearing date was a pretrial conference so I doubt that the charges were dropped since this would have happened during the disposition hearing.

I hope SF was offered a fine for the misdemeanor. She suffered enough already -- ruined her career.

Did anybody check with reporter Lance Benzel from the Gazette that covers the court?

Yes, I mean it is easier to escape a mental hospital than prison. Likely very hard to do though but in her mindset, she might think that.
I mean she was going to jump from a broomhandle-broken window at the jail.

I wish I could say people in their right mind wouldn't hurt or kill a defenseless child, but it happens hourly. And we hear of horrific deaths of these babies time after time. I'd say most are not crazy or mentally ill, rather filled with other emotional deficits. And full up with Satan.

LS loves wasting the court's time!

Her last evaluation resulted in her being competent to continue on to trial and her team asked for a second opinion.

I agree though that LS would like nothing more than added publicity for another planned escape! -- Maybe this plan will include fairy dust to shrink her lying lips and hips!

No, normal people don’t murder children. People like LS, who are definitely not insane, sometimes do. Her particular problem stems from being selfish, cruel and vindictive. Crazy like a stupid fox!

Paralegal pleads guilty to leaking document in Gannon Stauch murder case

Dec 21, 2020

An Adams County paralegal accused of leaking a sealed court document divulging details of the investigation into the killing of 11-year-old Gannon Stauch has pleaded guilty.

Sherie Farstveet, 54, pleaded guilty Dec. 10 in Adams County Court to a single count of attempted official misconduct, court records show.

[..]

Adams County Judge Michael Andrew Cox ordered Farstveet to pay a $100 fine plus $199.50 in court costs and fees, records show.

[..]

Prosecutors dropped the original charge against her, first-degree official misconduct, in exchange for her guilty plea to the lesser count. The deal averted a trial scheduled for the same day. She had faced up to a year in jail and a fine of up to $1,000 if convicted of the original charge.

Letecia Stauch's final competency results excepted in new year

Friday’s hearing was brief. Stauch didn’t speak but appeared through a video feed in a holding cell. Cameras captured her pacing back and forth throughout the entirety of the hearing.

The question remains as to whether Stauch is mentally competent enough to stand trail. A judge announced Friday that answer should come about a week before the one-year anniversary of Gannon’s reported disappearance.

On Jan. 27, 2019, Stauch called the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office and reported Gannon left their home near Colorado Springs and never returned.

Police arrested Stauch March 2 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.

They found Gannon’s body in Pace, Florida on March 18.

Since March, Stauch has been held in the El Paso County Jail.

In September, state psychiatrists told the court Stauch is competent enough to stand trial but her attorneys asked for a second opinion.

The second exam was scheduled for right before Halloween. Then, a coronavirus outbreak at the jail prompted a halt in visits.

Friday, Judge Gregory Werner announced he received notice that visits are allowed again at the jail.

Stauch’s second mental competency evaluation has been rescheduled for Dec. 22, with results expected in the courts by Jan. 2.

Werner set the next hearing date for Jan. 19.
