Hi everyone! I haven't been on in soooooo long. I thought I would peek my head back in since the news of LS being considered competent for trial. Hopefully everyone is doing well and staying safe!

So glad she did that interview ( with her back to camera)
It definitely shows she knows what what is going on ( asked for lawyer, knows her rights)
She even says she did not touch LE (who blocked the door) cause there would be consequences to that ....she’s plenty competent to go to trial IMO

Oh and the nerve that she was going to pull this off and get some apologies. Wow.

MOO

Honestly, an interview LS did nearly a year ago wouldn't have been relevant for judging her competency to stand trial now. It's too remote in time. Competency can vanish practically in the blink of an eye. (Massive stroke, for example) Also, knowing right from wrong (recognizing consequences) is more a matter of sanity, not competency.

I'm not surprised though she was found to be currently competent. It's not a high bar. I suspect her attorneys were covering their own backsides by asking the judge for a competency ruling---she probably is a very difficult client. And attorneys aren't mental health professionals. So it's likely all they were absolutely sure of when they asked for a ruling was there's something wrong with
her! (A view I think we all share on WS)

I think it's also likely she hasn't been cooperating with her attorneys in her own defense. But not cooperating doesn't automatically mean incapable of cooperating. I also suspect LS doesn't relate well to women, particularly educated, professional women. So that may have made her resistant to cooperating, caused conflicts, and ultimately fueled
her request for a new attorney.

Good evening sleuthers. I hope everyone is healthy. I think of Gannon so often. Several times a day. I’m super invested in the two missing West brothers ages 3 & 4. It’s got me hooked. The case is driving me crazy. It’s so relevantly mysterious and I’m sure there’s no happy ending in sight. Elements are so similar to this case. Check it out if you get a chance. Anyways, I bring this up to ask if you remember the timeline: DA got involved leading to arrest warrant. What sort of timespan in between these two events? Anyone remember?
I remember the night he went to her house, Dan May, you mean?

That was proof she was quite competent at attempting to cover her tracks immediately after the event.
Now two psych evaluations are required to prove she can understand the charges against herself in plain English.
She can, I'll wager.

Last year’s cases included several educators who were accused of having sexual relationships with students, a teacher who did cocaine in front of his students and an athletic director who had sexual relations with another employee while on school grounds, according to state files.

The cases also include an order of summary suspension against Letecia Stauch, who has been charged with murdering her stepson, 11-year-old Gannon.

Stauch was arrested March 2 in Myrtle Beach, and the board of education took action against her educator certificate on March 11.

Gannon’s body was found in Pace, Florida on March 18. Stauch had reported him as missing in January in Colorado.

Stauch had last worked in South Carolina in 2018 and had previously worked for Horry County Schools until 2015.

“The SCDE has reason to believe that, due to the serious nature of this allegation of misconduct, Ms. Stauch may pose a threat to the health, safety, and welfare of students who may be under her instruction, and that emergency action is required,” the state board’s ruling reads.

The disciplinary actions include two cases in Florence 1 Schools. Both were for unprofessional conduct — one teacher had their certificate suspended for one year because they failed to report to work, and the other received a consent order of public reprimand for inappropriate physical contact with a student.

Tomorrow marks the day our beautiful boy was reported missing. I need to replace my rage at “her” with the love and community outpouring of support that has evolved.
upload_2021-1-26_10-0-32.jpeg

Soon after Gannon was reported as a runaway by his stepmother, Letecia Stauch, on Jan. 27, 2020, neighbors began tying blue ribbons to trees, placing signs, balloons and stuffed animals at a front corner of Lorson Ranch at Fontaine Boulevard and Marksheffel Road. The other side had a large sign that read "Pray for Gannon." The front of his school, Grand Mountain School, was adorned with a huge banner. Hundreds of people gathered for a candlelight vigil in an open space in the neighborhood.

But as the days went by, it became clear that Gannon was not a runaway after all.
A community goes blue for Gannon

The news this morning was all about a year since Kobe Bryant and his daughter were killed in the helicopter crash.

I was immediately transported back in time to see a video where that story is playing on a TV in the background, a woman is raging and bullying a child, making him "pinky swear", all the while a little boy is crying in pain, physical and mental.

A year ago today it started. I am sick all over again and my heart breaks anew for a child I never knew, but will forever be with me.

It's time to finish this for Gannon. It won't be long now.

Beautiful photos, as usual.

I hope she has a rotten time in jail for the rest of her life.

You make my eyes tear up. I couldn’t sleep on Jan 27 2020. I tried to watch tv but nothing interested me. So I grabbed my iPad and googled missing child. I found that weird photo with her and Gannon at garden of gods. It caught my attention. Then I found the guy on Facebook that said he was going to run his drone because he was in the military, maybe national guard, I forget. But he said he would do anything to help a brother. He put out a call to other military brothers. Then I found him on YouTube. Then I found Gannon’s aunt’s appeal and recognized her credentials. Something clicked and I knew this was big stuff. But a runaway. Who else gets this much attention? Yeah, something is going on here. So I launched the thread and asked anyone that would listen to me to be a part of helping. By then, I was watching the drone footage all night long. And I guess the rest is history. Is it March yet? I ❤️ you Gannon.

Probably a good time to recap the court's order(s) for LS competency evaluation:

In her letter to Judge Gregory Werner dated 8/12/20 -- LS alleges she met with her defense only one time in March 2020 and no time since.

This time last year, Gannon was a typical 11 year old boy. For Gannon this day a year ago started like any other day by going on a hike, eating takeout from one of his favorite restaurants, and playing video games, but it ended in a nightmare of manipulation and abuse leading to his murder. Everyday for the past year I've thought of him. I've thought of his wide eyes, his infectious smile, how he liked to tell corny jokes, and how he was kind to others. How he was a typical 11 year old boy, yet extraordinary in so many ways! He was brave, helpful, and eager to please others. He had such a fun-loving energy and had a lifetime of adventure & promise ahead of him!

I still cry tears thinking of what was lost that day. How he should've been able to trust the adults in his life, but was failed by them. The special bond he had with his little sister and mom, LH, and how they were betrayed and robbed of his life too. He didn't deserve what happened to him, no one does. I'm so sad & angry at what he was forced to endure at the hands of someone who was entrusted with his care and well-being! Oh how I wish things had ended differently that day, and that sweet Gannon was still here laughing and living life! I wish LS and her manipulation & evil had never entered his or LaiS's life.

Gannon, I truly hope you know how much you are missed! I hope you feel how much you are loved, and how many people you've inspired and touched with the way you lived your life. You're forever in our hearts!

It's just another stall attempt IMHO, she's literally trying everything possible to delay! There's really not all that much time before the proof evident presumption great hearing. She's the one asking for them to be removed, but I bet she's not cooperative at all!

GANNON STAUCH: Letecia Stauch found competent to stand trial for murder of stepson, Gannon

Jan 19, 2021

A judge scheduled Stauch’s preliminary hearing for March 11-12.

“We don’t intend to present the entirety of the case, but it will be enough to satisfy the probable cause requirements that the court needs to make,” Allen said, adding, “It will be a really good outline of the case but won’t necessarily cover every bit of evidence that we have in the case.”

Additionally, Stauch’s attorney told the judge Tuesday Letecia wants to request a conflict hearing.

“That’s really an issue between the defendant the defense attorneys and then the court to take up,” Allen said.

The judge said Stauch will have to write him a letter to explain why there’s a conflict and why she would need new representation for her case before he considers taking action.

Allen also says prosecution has not engaged in any plea deals and he does not intend to do so.

“We’re going to present the best case we possibly can in this case and let the community decide once we get to a jury,” Allen said.

I'm rather impressed with District Attorney Michael Allen.
He gives off the impression that he is quite confident in his case, and that's reassuring.
I know we're all really looking forward to justice for Gannon.

I can wait for justice, but I really feel for Gannon's family who she has thrown on an emotional roller coaster from the very beginning. I don't know her grounds for a conflict hearing, but I suspect her poor lawyers will be stuck with her, as was Kirk Nurmi with Jodi Arias.

She is a seasoned lying, manipulative, jealous, revengeful and conniving witch who will use every tactic to draw this out. I hope that Gannon's loved ones will have the peace of mind to know that these delays will not save her. As difficult as it is with covid and her antics, her day in court is coming.

Well we all know writing letters to the judge is Tecia’s strong suit.

This opens up a real opportunity for her to flex that doctorate level education from Liberty University. No doubt her arguments will ring through out the land. (Liber- Tee, Liber-Tee, Liber-Tee )
