I think (hope) the judge will be looking to find the earliest opportunity to remove her for being unruly etc and substitute the advisory counsel in her place.

I hope she defends herself in court with wrist and ankle shackles that allow minimal movement. Anyone (the public, jurors, LE, GS family, etc.) in that courtroom is at risk of an attempted assualt from her. She's an incredibly violent and unpredictable person. I'm thinking of the antics after her arrest even, trying to escape during her transport and injuring an officer. Her attempted jail break. I'm sure there's more we have not even heard of. I'm all for wheeling her in like Hannibal Lecter.

She will get 30,000 pages of discovery to occupy her time with.

She's going to turn the upcoming proceedings into a three ring circus and waste the court and the people's time. IMO

I agree, but I think we all know by now that anytime LS is involved a circus is guaranteed! Today was a perfect example!

When the judge remarked that he'd never had anything like this happen in his 30 years in the courtroom, LS probably used it to feed her ego!

I have to agree with the DA per video at tweet: The state still has the burden of proof, and they will present evidence of LS guilt in the murder of Gannon whether LS is represented by counsel or not.

She reportedly responded saying “I’ve come to find that the word ‘expert’ doesn’t hold much value, and I’m the expert here. I think that I could do it on my own sir, it’s a constitutional right”.


Judge Gregory Werner spent several minutes trying to explain the benefit of having an attorney, but Stauch continued to assert she had an “Ace in the hole” and that “two pieces of evidence would completely prove her innocence.”

I can’t imagine this judge will allow her to make a mockery out of the courtroom or be disrespectful of Gannon. So, I can’t wait to pull up a seat and watch her self implode.

Although, I have a feeling she will lose this opportunity to represent herself because of bad behavior. And I do hate that his family will have to endure this attention seeking circus of hers in the meantime.

PS. TS reminds me so much of Tammy Moorer with the whole holier-than-thou-I’m-smarter-than-you-and-I’ll-prove-it attitude. And we saw how well that worked out for Tammy when she took the stand.

BBM. The woman continues to be unable to "hear" herself when she speaks. She certainly is the "expert" according to her own statement and I think we all agree that she doesn't hold much value.

I look forward to her revealing the two pieces of evidence "that no science can discredit" that will clear her name.

And FWIW, IMO Al and Landen are strong individuals who will get through the trial with dignity no matter how hard Leticia tries to upset them. Her hatred towards them is no match for their love for Gannon. MOO.

I talked to attorney Stephen Longo about the update. "It will undoubtedly result in delays in the case. Regardless of transferring files, there are numerous procedural steps that need to take place before trial. We have to assume all of these may be delayed in some capacity."

I disagree the Sixth Amendment needs to be amended, or that LS will force such an amendment!
The Court has held that the Sixth Amendment, in addition to guaranteeing the right to retained or appointed counsel, also guarantees a defendant the right to represent himself.

However, it's also a right the defendant must adopt knowingly and intelligently; under some circumstances, the trial judge may deny the authority to exercise it, as when the defendant simply lacks the competence to make a knowingly or intelligent waiver of counsel or when his self-representation is so disruptive of orderly procedures that the judge may curtail it.379

The right applies only at trial; there is no constitutional right to self-representation on direct appeal from a criminal conviction.380

In other words, there's already a provision for the Court to prevent this self-representation by LS from getting out of hand.

I just love this new development in a way. She'll weave a tale of "it sucks to be a stepmom" and try to frame the mom for all of her perceived flaws. What she doesn't realize is that any decent judge is going to nix 90 percent of any of her arguments, so she'll get silenced and then have to stick to the facts, which will fry her.

I think if a defendant decides to wave counsel and represent themselves, that person appears before the jury without prejudicial shackles and prison garb. Which kind of begs the question as to how they treat and handle this lawyer/defendant. Must be very tricky behind the scenes.
