Is her defense going to be, "it never would've happened if I hadn't been left behind to babysit and so..."

Imagine the quagmire in her brain. Concocting all the ways this didn't happen.

Fortunately she's the only one who believes her.

One party’s counsel sending correspondence to the judge is a huge no-no (absent some rare compelling circumstance). You have to Cc every party, every time. LS is not going to like that...

I think her defense will be mostly Landon is bad, AS treated me like an unpaid babysitter, and here are pictures of Gannon & me happy. She’s going to open the door to so much otherwise inadmissible character evidence IMO...

I’m so curious about the rest of her defense!

No matter what she says, she killed Gannon. She can twist the excuses and blame, but bottom line...
Prison for life.

Fortunately, we're about to see all that correspondence soon!

The hearing also revealed that Stauch wrote letters to the judge. Based on the judge's comments, it appears those letters highlighted Stauch's concerns that the jail was restricting her access to her legal counsel before she decided to represent herself. Referring to the letters, the judge confirmed that Stauch knew her previous legal team was not obligated to file a motion just because she requested it. Then, he asked Stauch if she still wanted to represent herself, she said she does.

The DA's Office raised concerns that they didn't have access to the letters Stauch was writing to the judge. The judge was surprised to learn the letters were sealed, and vowed to make those letters public record. He said it could take a day or two, but because she's representing herself, her correspondence with him will become publicly accessible.

I can’t wait to read her letters to the judge! Roflmbo. What an absolute worthless human.
Repeating for focus “LS murdered GS, no ifs, ands or buts about it!”
With her shenanigans I need to keep my focus on why she’s even in the mess she’s in. #JusticeForGannon is on its way!

I tried searching for this info but it’s a little confusing. Is the law library she will have access to within the El Paso County Jail or is it off ‘campus’?
What I gather from this page is that it is within the jail.

Excellent Question. I couldn’t find precise location of the inmates law library, but what I’ve gathered after searching extensively, that it’s located within the jail complex. It could definitely be a different building from where LS is housed, but I’m pretty sure it has to be accessible for inmates without needing to be transported by deputies. It’s a large complex though. I’ve included the photo from jail website and link to the facility.

The Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office said one of their detectives from the Major Crimes Division restored the cross placed at the location.

“We wanted to take a moment to share an incredible act of service. Our very own Detective Yoder, currently assigned to our Major Crimes Division, took the time to personally restore and resurrect the cross placed at the memorial of Gannon Stauch,” the sheriff’s office wrote on Facebook.

Officials said it had deteriorated over time due being out in the environment.

“Detectives and Victim Advocates visited the site [Thursday] to place the cross and to ensure even our most vulnerable are never forgotten,” officials wrote.

Thank you Detective Yoder. What a wonderful man. This warmed my heart this morning. We will never forget Gannon.

New stuff on the court doc site.

Colorado Judicial Branch

1. LS's letter to Judge Werner ordered unsealed. Letter to Judge Bain will remain sealed as it relates to the conflict hearing.

2. Caitlin Kreck named as investigator for LS.

An investigator, no less.
I can't!

I can't!

I know.

The request to the court (written by the attorney advises her) does say an investigator is needed to interview witnesses and serve subpoenas. I don't know if LS is "looking for the real killer" (like OJ, haha) but the request does mention things that have to be done by somebody and it can't be somebody who is behind bars.
