Do you all remember when they added charges after his body was found and they had the sentence enhancers? There were separate enhancers each for sharp instrument, blunt instrument, and firearm. There was so much speculation. Does that mean she used all three? Does that mean they don’t know and they’ve just added it all until they figure it out?

It’s awful. She really is so depraved that she used all three.

The time difference between the initial Complaint and the Amended Complaint was only about 9 days (March 11 & March 20).

The enhancers (Charges 6 -13) were not difficult since GS was only 11 years old and LS was in a position of trust.

Upon discovery/recovery of GS body, it was evident GS had a bullet hole wound to the head (dangerous weapon), stab wounds (knife), and fractured skull (a blunt instrument), and the additional enhancers were added.

In this case, given both the defendant caused delays and COVID delays, I'm not understanding why the Judge could not rule from the bench here. The AA was filed Feb 2020. I'm also not aware of any new evidence that would affect the 13 criminal charges filed March 20, 2020. MOO

The State's case seemed quite compelling to me in terms of taking it to trial.

But the judge's comment was odd to me (although I personally think he's said very weird things before.) Saying "hey, at this court proceeding where I'm supposed to listen to evidence and decide if there should be a trial, I heard evidence I hadn't heard before. Wow! I didn't expect that!"

I think he's convinced there should be a trial but the particulars are an issue. I'm not a lawyer but I think the "enhancers" or whatever they are called (not only killed him but used a gun, a knife, and a blunt object to do it") are a sticking point. Some are supposedly the cause of death but no one TODAY could say if they were definitely pre-mortem.

We are hearing and seeing #LeteciaStauch on police body worn camera during the search. We hear her consenting to the search.

On body worn camera you hear her saying Gannon said he was going to his friends house to play video games. She says something about cleaning a mess he made on the carpet downstairs.

Sgt. Yunkin starts going through a car in the garage. Letecia comes in there says he’s never hid in the car before. We see what looks like a suitcase in the car captured on body worn camera. @KDVR

I have been wondering if this was the “new information” the judge alluded to???

Thanks, @NCWatcher -- I missed the bit about the Judge hearing evidence he'd not heard before.

What do you think it was? :D
I haven't a clue.
Judge's job is to confirm there's enough evidence to bring it to trial.
There is an abundance of evidence with or without the suitcase being present when LE first visited the property when they had zero suspicions of foul play, just a missing young man, late home.

Right, not focused on a suitcase in a vehicle used by a family that travels.

At that point in time it didn’t seem pertinent. They were looking for a missing child. Not a homicide investigation yet.

You ROCK !!!
Thank you so much !!!

And a HUGE shoutout Thanks to all of you who posted the "Tweets" and updates for the rest of us.
I am still catching up.
My alarm/reminder for this court hearing today went off while I was at a funeral this morning ..YIKES.

I sure hope the Judge makes LS come into court on the 23rd.
(not sure if he legally can do that, but I am hoping so.)

I agree- that's a little bizarre to me as any additional info we did hear shouldn't be enough to come back in two weeks with a decision?
What new bits and pieces we heard were absolutely brutal.. can't believe her audacity to just "opt out" of the prelim.. is that actually an option? ridiculous.

So much confirmation of what was feared by so many of us. It seems to me that she had him well hidden before the road trip to FL. I wonder if he was not frozen for a good portion of that trip. She thought she was so much smarter than the rest of the world and LEO. She is not.

I have a feeling that she will try to plead guilty without ever saying she is guilty. There is no way that she will ever let his parents have all the details and get peace. Her actions will be about keeping them in pain for the rest of their lives while crying out that she is innocent.

Some days 20-30 searchers other days over a hundred, according to Lt. Sarkisian. They had to use prodding poles because the snow was soo thick in the area north of Palmer Lake to search for #GannonStauch.
Ohhh-- I remember when they were doing all those searches there.
I would check in all day long for updates on the searches we were aware of.. as I know we all were checking in.
UGH--this has to be so horrific and sad for Landen and Al :(

I’m not sure what you wanted me to see in the article you linked?
A preliminary hearing is when prosecutors must convince the judge there is enough evidence to take the case to trial. Judge Gregory Werner said he will make a decision on if this case goes to trial on September 23 at 9:00 a.m.

Your orignal question - whether the suitcase was likely to have affected his decision to delay his decision!

Not bashing LE but fgs why wasn't he suspicious about the large suitcase in the back of the car, with a missing boy report?
I feel ya !!
I thought same thing at first and actually typed out a long post about my dismay but then realized that, on the 1st night, LE was only looking for a "runaway" or a kid who did not come home from friend's house.

So I guess I can understand why he would not open it that night, thinking a kid would not hide in a suitcase, but still, I feel your anguish about it.

LE and investigators did a great job IMO and of course I love the DA's/Prosecutors there so I have every bit of confidence in them.

Oh, I’m aware of what a preliminary hearing is! LOL I was asking for ideas of what specific evidence may have been what the judge referenced today that was “new”.
