She's a hot mess but that's not a defense, merely an explanation. Bet her communications using HH's phone or a new phone were plenty lucid. She rented a car. Bet she was lucid. A lifetime of mismanaged mental health issues is no defense.

I bet she twirls after imaginary butterflies only when she thinks she's being watched.

It's only remarkable that she managed to skirt serious crime until this point in her life.

More than ever, I can't wait until we can forget her all together.

Her attorneys site mental health and COVID as the reasons- but say they feel the case needs to begin moving forward and they do not want this hearing delayed. @KKTV11News

I'm fine with LS not attending a "review hearing." Her defense states the in-court appearance of a defendant for a review hearing is not necessary, and does not prejudice the prosecution in any way.
With many courts canceling trials because of the continuing pandemic, don't bother.

Reading that Motion for Change of Venue, do I smell a strategy? Because, as I see it, the most damning stuff out there, painting the worst picture of T is what T herself said! Her interviews! Is her defense team going to try to quash her public statements, as well her statements to police, by citing mental illness post? To what benefit? That she commit a lesser crime, then had a mental break?

Besides T's own mouth, what's out there that's so prejudicial?

Change of venue always has a feel of desperation to me.... when you can't mount a defense, attack procedure...

In the end, the Constitution she so loves will grant her the fairest of trials, showing her far more mercy than she showed that beautiful little boy, with a big smile, bigger laughter and biggest heart.

Wish she'd just plead guilty so we can all get on with the business of remembering Gannon and forgetting her.

The defense gave the court almost exactly 7 days notice, which Judge Gregory Werner required of the defense recently.

Prosecutors apparently filed a response today… will wait for online to update - or see if it’s addressed on 1/13.

We have seen similar arguments used by Tolini before… not word-for-word, but he referenced the same idea in the #CarlaFaith trial, who was the former day care owner found guilty of 26 counts of misdemeanor child abuse.

Defense is also trying to suppress evidence from her phone and the home security system. Warrants for both of those are now posted on the court site.

Publicity and duplicity and all from T's own mouth.

Her defense team is doing their job, filing motions and all that. :/ They can ask. And the judge can say no.

Imagine what all would have to be suppressed to give T a shot at anything but LWOP? It's ludicrous.

She may have been battling myriad mental health issues her whole life but she was functional and functioning before and after this crime. Arguably dysfunctional and dysfunctioning but functional and functioning enough.

She rented cars. Sought out interviews. Got herself a new phone. Did her hair, did her makeup. Washed cars, stuffed tissues in her pants. Navigated a vehicle to Florida. Managed fuel stops. Hid evidence.

Lucid. Deliberate.

Change of venue is a standard motion in most cases with publicity. I wouldn’t put too much thought into it. JMO. Hoping to have a chance to read the others tonight or tomorrow.
