Stauch’s defense attorney’s Will Cook and Josh Tolini claim she is suffering from a dissociative disorder. Someone with this disorder suddenly becomes observers of their own speech and actions, or their bodies may feel different to them. They may also experience memory loss of certain time periods and can suffer from depression, anxiety, and suicidal thoughts.

In September of 2020, state psychiatrists told the court that Stauch was competent enough to stand trial, but her attorneys asked for a second opinion. In January of 2021, a second mental competency evaluation was completed, finding her, once again, competent.

It's remarkable that this condition came on at the precise time she needed it to; when it served her interests.

UPDATE: The audio is working again... Judge Gregory Werner is back in the courtroom. A deputy testified that he had learned #LeteciaStauch due to not receiving medication. "Your honor, I've refused... It's not safe for me to be in courtroom when I'm not on my medication."

So does this mean Eguardo is really Letecia?

I wonder if she read a book about Billy Milligan. He was a serial rapist in the 1970's who was found innocent by reason of insanity. A psychiatrist claimed he had something like 24 different personalities.

But the attorneys are suggesting she developed this disorder after the murder.

I wonder if she is still claiming someone else is responsible. Maybe the defense is hoping to use the diagnosis to explain her behavior and cover up after the murder.

What Doctor diagnosed her if she hasn't had an evaluation?

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. She can't hide forever.

LS understands the charges against her as she proved in her letter to the judge from earlier this year. She understands her rights which is also evident in the letter. From her own mouth at this latest hearing, she also appears to understand her supposed mental state, her needs for medication to treat her mental illness aswell as being coherent enough to state that without her medication it would ‘not be safe’ for her to be in the courtroom. She also understands her rights to an attorney as evidenced in her letter where she talks about needing competent counsel aswell as needing an unbiased professional to perform her evaluation. Added to that her supposed DID was apparently triggered by stress only after Gannon’s murder, she was sane when she killed him.

LS’s own words will be her undoing, she’s demonstrated in many ways that she is competent. Her actions now are all an attempt to delay her trial because she knows that if found guilty she will be getting LWOP, she will have a very lonely , boring, depressing existence for the rest of her days. She’s trying to make this last as long as she can, trying to keep the spotlight on her because once she’s convicted she will just be an inmate number, no one will care about her, she will be unable to taunt Gannon’s family, there will be no more games to be played or ‘one-upping’ for the rest of her life.

Everything is a game to LS and she knows this one will be her last so she’s milking it for all she can IMO

Stauch is now speaking. She tells Judge Werner that she has not received her medication in several days and it is “not safe for her to be in the courtroom” when she “cannot control” herself.

Judge Werner is now explaining the importance of #LeteciaStauch appearing in person moving forward. “Going forward if you decide that you don’t want to be here, I will need you to file a motion no later than 7 days before your appearance.”

I said LS would make a mockery of the judicial process and she continues to do so. Who gives a flying rip about her mental state 'after' she killed an innocent child? Shouldn't have one ounce of influence in her court proceedings.
