Next is a motion to suppress ADT security system data. Gratiano said the ADT data warrant is not overly broad. Tolini again disagrees, again saying there's no date range. Judge Werner said that although there's no date range, that may not apply to general warrants. Motion denied.

Is Leticia going to have a grand exit by giving us a big baby tantrum?

Talking about a Jan. 10 letter from CMHIP, stating there are two professionals currently working Ms. Stauch's case. They said due to the "enormity" of discovery and records in this case, they won't have an evaluation done until the end of February, or their report until March 31.

"We start March 28, which is potentially problematic," Werner said. #LeteciaStauch

@4thJudicialDA says they've set aside six weeks total for the trial - but he's estimating it will take closer to four weeks.

The judge needs both sides to get their list of witnesses to the court by February 11. He's working on a jury questionnaire now - it's about 4 pages.

JURY SELECTION FOR #LETECIASTAUCH TRIAL:
Judge is looking at a 4 page questionnaire.
2 courtrooms.
A handful of people in this room - 2 media allowed.
Audio streaming only.
Selection will go as long as need be until they reach a panel of 70 people.

Ok, I like this. Generally we don't get any audio or video, and it's live tweets at best.

ETA: This is apparently only for jury selection. We'll have to wait to see if this applies to trial.

Sure looks like good news overall, for justice for sweet Gannon.
May LS rot in a cage for the rest of her miserable days.

Good quote from the Judge about the ADT reports!

Judge Werner states this is a warrant like many others that accesses information from a third-party vendor. Judge says the defendant herself is the one who mentioned there “may have been someone else in the house.”

Allen said opening statements could begin the afternoon of the second Monday of trial. That's April 4. Trial will be held Monday through Friday, starting at 9 a.m. Judge Werner's recommending attorneys use privacy screens on their laptops in court.

He also said that attorneys' electronics will be tethered to their tables for the trial. Cook asked him to clarify, and Judge Werner said the idea is to prevent laptops from "potentially falling off the table" or potentially "being used at the last minute."

Yay. :D
I think we're seeing the defense essentially filed a bunch of boiler-plate motions end of December -- none with any merit per the Judge's denials. JMO

Is it just me, or is that a really weird thing to say?
I mean, I haven't followed many legal proceedings but is it common for laptops to just fly off the table?
