I was just about to comment that too!

"I wanna clear that up. The sheriff's office is not the one who said that Gannon went to a friend's house to play. That is the report that came in to our 911 center by the reporting party, so I wanna make sure that's very clear. And so again, anything during that day and anything after that day is part of our investigation and we're not going to elaborate." That was interesting to me. I'm not saying it means anything but that caught my attention too.
Oh wow!!

i am sorry to say that I have heard LE say that a missing person is alive too many times to take it for anything more than just a hope combined with lack of a body. Same was said in Dylan’s case and many, many others...until a body was found or in some cases, years just passed with no resolution.

If she took him and left him alive with someone, yes she would have charges pending...but not first degree murder, which could come even without his body at some point. But telling police where he is would be the only way to prove her claim that she is innocent, etc...and that has not happened. And won’t happen jmo.

I could have sworn that the listed some agencies that have assisted them and I seem to remember the FBI being listed but I can't seem to find that article...maybe im over tired too
He said that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and FBI got involved after the case was upgraded to a missing/endangered child case. The FBI's team specializes in search and rescue and "will be a good partner" in the investigation, Mahalko said.

Thank you! I am new to this site and I have heard his name ALOT why is that? Has he done good things with cases in the past?
Oh yeah! He put Patrick Frazee away for killing Kelsey Berreth, Woodland Park, CO. Life plus 156 years. November 2019

The problem is those nice dirt roads aren't simple driveable areas after lots of snow piles on top. The plows don't always (ever?) get to those places. I can't remember how much snow had piled up back at the end of January.

People here were saying zero to just a few inches at that time. There's been a few inches more. The Mountain West is very dry and while it snows, even the snow is kinda dry.

Colorado Springs Police ask for help in another missing child case:

MISSING: 13-year-old girl from Colorado Springs

Since we're all here, anyway. Voluntarily missing

No but maybe they finally got cell phone records/data? MOO

Hmmm...was there anything in LS’ statement from last night that would lead police to searching this area? Nothing is jumping out at me.

She would have needed to go through a car wash....

There is just nothing about her statement that hangs together. There’s deception in not only what she says, but how she strings it together. Stories have essential parts, with background info for meaningful context re: the event or incident. In her story telling, the background of cute dogs, Legos, flower pots, tools, gates, keys, hamburgers, foot injuries, etc., are her focus, with the critical event (Gannon’s gone) just kinda floating around all the details shes hauling out to sound like she’s telling a story.

I always marvel that these kinds believe they’re making sense.

I'm sure I'm not the only (former) local surprised to see the search move north, and so close to I-25 as well. It's straight up into more civilization, more traffic, more densely populated areas. When a homicide victim from this area has been found "dumped," it's almost always south of CO Springs or to the east, occasionally to the west in the mountains but usually not that far.

I don’t know what branch of service dad is in, but suspicion of child abuse is a huge deal in the military. If she brought an injured child to the base hospital while dad was away, she would potentially have had a rough time.

Thank you for asking!!!

DA May has done a yeoman's job as a prosecutor for decades.

His office has handled many high-profile cases, including most recently the Kelsey Berreth murder.

He's incredibly bright…well, brilliant, really.

He's a man of genuine integrity, too.

For those who have never heard of him or from him, here's some info to help you understand why so many of us here are taking so much comfort in knowing that DA May's part of the "task force" (as he described it) investigating GS's disappearance:

About

A Passion for Justice and Problem Solving-The District Attorney's Office - Colorado Springs Style - January/February 2017

*NOTE: Video below is clip showing DA May discussing another case, video is not discussing GS's case.
Just linking it here to familiarize people with the DA here in El Paso Co.

He's one of the Good Guys.

JMO.

I also am surprised. Palmer Lake is a cool town. I had a friend in the rehab up there. I remember taking the road up to the mountain there with police trailing all the way (not much to do I guess). There is a station right in the town on the way to the rehab. It's not very light traffic on the way in there either...plenty of cars. I would not have headed in that direction, but I guess they have their reasons.

Yep. Put him away for murder and the body of the victim hasn't been found.

This guy is serious business.

I reckon they would have obtained those very quickly, not almost 3 weeks into a missing person investigation

I just sat here and went through my alternate theory, yet again. I wrote it down in response to an earlier post and realized, it won't wash no matter how I spin it. Must be how TS is feeling right now:p

I believe Gannon is dead. He did NOT run away, NOR was he kidnapped, but in my whacked out theory he was "pseudo kidnapped" to allow time for his serious wounds to heal and then caregiver (who he does not know nor recognize) would drop him off to be "found." In the excitement of being found and telling his experience the memory of the beating would disappear or at least diminish and voila, TS is vindicated. Is this what SHE thought? Is this why she's saying he is alive? In the meantime, the attention the case is getting has made Gannon a very hot potato for someone and participating in this lunacy could very well cost him/her their freedom. Time to unload their problem? As well, her lies begin to unravel and the focus is keenly on her. Her story that he went to a friend's and could possibly have been "snatched", has been proven false for everyone to see. Big complication there. Now, she's left with throwing shade on LH and someone that helped LH steal Gannon. Somehow SHE's the evil manipulator, not her! Evidence indicates he was indeed injured, badly. LH was not aware of that when she first arrived looking for her missing son. More focus on TS. She fights back and spills to the Daily Rag, oh I mean Mail, in a futile attempt to clear her name and bolster her image . If nothing else, she likely needs the money at this point.

Anyway, after writing it all down it does seem like really bad fiction :) Just can't make it work in my head. I don't think I'll be having crow for dinner. Sorry all. How I wish though :(

"continue to share the information we are sharing with you..."

Wha..?!

I mean I get it I do, but hey if you aren't going to to give us anything at least own it and say. "you will have to work with what ya got, cos we're giving ya nada."

  • #338
Anybody wondering if she put this statement out to mess with a future jury pool?! Sharing info the police hadn’t shared yet? (Shopping trip, blood found in the home)

@susiQ I've tried to make that same scenario fit in my headspace, too. I just can't get it to stick with any sense.

It depends. Usually it wouldn't take that long, but they'd need a warrant/subpoena for pretty much anything but Gannon's own phone (which would be a quicker "exigent circumstances" process.) It could take days for the whole process, from the point they make the decision to get additional cell records to the point they actually get the requested records AND make sense of it all.
