Must go home for the weekend now. Praying that Gannon is found ASAP!

It has to be something very credible. I’d love to be a fly on the wall of SM’s hotel room right now.

Thank you for your good work! What breed(s) are your search dogs and what is their training (ground, cadaver, electronics, etc)? Again, thank you.

I'm a foot print tracker. I have worked side by side with dog teams and handlers for many years. Sometimes I even volunteer to be the "subject" for advanced dog teams to search for since I have a whole bag of tricks to throw them off the trail. Been doing it for over 50 years. I read foot prints like you read the words in this post. The only thing I can't tell from prints is the color of the subjects eyes, skin and hair.

..

I wonder if LS understands how tracking works, how DNA works, and so forth.
She probably thinks she's quite the expert. :p

Wonder if they could be looking for a device? Evidence of some sort?
Entirely possible they're looking for evidence. Possibly a device that pinged right there and never pinged anywhere else afterward? Yes, that's possible.
I still don't think he's alive. I wish I did, but the circumstances and the BS from his step-mom paint a completely different picture.

Maybe they vacationed there before, like some Airbnb action or something? Or they could be friends with people in that location and she's familiar with that area as a result?
There are also a lot of holiday activities in Monument and Palmer Lake, like Christmas things, 4th of July Fireworks, 4th of July parade, the Yule Log, tons of stuff that they could have gone to or at least probably heard about.

Someone earlier mentioned the sat view of the area shows a Christmas tree farm close by.
Maybe the familiarity of the area comes from going there for a Christmas tree?

VERY reliable sources telling me to expect rapid developments in the search for 11 year old Gannon Stauch. For the past three days the search has centered on a heavily wooded area on South Perry Park Road near Larkspur. A few moments ago FBI evidence vans arrived on scene.
BBM.

And we’re off!

Odds are hugely in favor of her having some personal knowledge of that parcel of land.

She may have known it was vacant at the time for some reason, too…wonder if the owners are seasonal residents, or if it might be listed for sale?

There's no way that was a random site selection.
She must be familiar with it somehow.

If she has any connection to the property and/or the owners, even if it's via secondhand info from third parties, I'm sure we'll find out about it in due time.

Maybe ?
Who knows ?
Not blaming anyone here either.

That would depend on someone having been interviewed by LE.
Which was pointed out already as having been previously completed, and is probably correct.
In response to my earlier query.

We can discuss what was in msm interviews which would include the strange interview by the step mom.
And it's possible that there was a hand off by someone who drives a different vehicle than the truck.
It's msm news that the white Jetta was towed for evidence gathering.
So you might be on the right track.
Hoping for answers very soon.

Not to be churlish but, I don't think anything about a white Jetta is in fact MSM. I just went looking for "Gannon Stauch white Jetta", and couldn't find anything except one Websleuths thread and one iffy-looking FB post. I did, however, find a post saying that media were obeying a blackout on the contents of a search warrant (this was on or about February 3).

Ugh my heart is breaking and yet happy that they may be close to finding him!

Feeling the same.... too many days where my mind has been on Gannon and just hoping for some answers.

Really dumb question, but it's something I always wanted to know:

Do bloodhounds do better if they are searching for blood?

And, I guess I have another one...Do bloodhounds mainly track for blood?

According to What Makes Bloodhounds Good Detectives?

When a bloodhound sniffs a scent article, such as a piece of clothing, air rushes through the dog's nasal cavity. The scent of the person creates an “odor image" (a sort of smell photograph) in the dog's brain.

The odor image is created from a variety of smells that a human cannot detect, including sweat, breath and skin. Although the world is full of smells, a bloodhound's sense of smell is so powerful that it can use the odor image to pick out the exact scent trail it needs.

Once the bloodhound finds a scent trail matching the odor image, it can follow that specific smell despite all the other odors in the environment. Bloodhounds have been known to follow a scent trail for more than 130 miles!

If someone has ever walked past you wearing perfume, you've probably noticed that, within a few minutes, the smell disappears. A bloodhound's sense of smell is so strong that it can still smell a trail up to 300 hours old! That would be like someone walking past you wearing perfume and still being able to smell it 13 days later!

The nose isn't the only part of bloodhounds well-suited for tracking. Their signature wrinkly skin helps trap scents, too. Their long, droopy ears also act as scent sweepers, dragging the ground and sweeping scents toward their noses.

An unknown third party was introduced into the story by one of LS's statements, as reported on Fox and other news networks.

There would be different kinds of unknown third parties to theorize about, I guess.

I wonder if they think he was plowed into a snow bank by a truck that did not see him while walking down the road. Only reason I can think of that they would be searching the plowed snow drifts...

wow, this is incredibly fascinating to me. You can tell (even if I were wearing boots made for a male) how much I weigh, my gender and age? You must love your job!

@Tricia has never given us permission to sleuth and post on the forum, personal info about the step-mom.
Actually, she did give permission to discuss SM.
We just are NOT allowed to trash her or call her names so saying if she was married, not married, etc is Allowed.
