I just learned a few weeks ago some states dont require it, recently when my sister was killed. I always thought all states required it and I think all states should require it for certain circumstances like this

So sorry for the loss of your sister kpalma.

There was a reporters tweet a few hours ago about the searches and it stated that there were a few other searches ongoing but LE is not talking about those. While this particular search getting the media attention is likely important the ones LE does not want to talk about certainly are also.

Is it CSI who is doing the close searching? It would be, imo, if anything to do with remains...I think? Not reg. L.E.

I've been waiting to comment on this thread until I got caught up to speed on this precious boy, Gannon, and his disappearance. My goodness, there are so many, um, complexities involving this investigation. Praying with all of my might that GS is found safe and unharmed.

Welcome, @DoABarrelRoll ! So glad you are here.

Yeah, she had several hours to work with, and could have covered a lot of ground in any direction.

For law enforcement to be focusing on a particular area 40 miles away from home, just has to be a sign of a solid lead. There’s no other logical reason for that behavior.

We’ve seen ground searches previously, but nothing remotely close to this. It’s like they are looking for something specific, and know it’s there.
Just as I thought! seems like there are looking for an item vs a body or person. and working so close to the road as far as I can see from the twitter video footage out there. Lets hope they find what they are looking for soon.

I know this is a terrible thought. I am thinking more of items rather than Gannon. But, here it goes....

Is it possible that they traced the vehicle that disposed of him to that area and what was on the roadside was obscured by snow, so when the snow plow came by they would have it and dragged whatever was left on the roadside? I wonder if drivers reported hitting something and dragging it for a stretch of road. That might explain the long stretch that they are collecting material from.

Nicole Fierro is on the Fox 31 KDVR Colorado Springs news at 5:00 or 5:30 (Colorado time MST) . The time there is now 1:38 p.m.

The livestream plays previously airs news until it begins live at 5:00 p.m. (or 7pm my time)
The station she reports on:

Yes, I'm Eastern Standard Time so it's 6:08 p.m. here. (4:08 in Colorado Springs.)

I wouldn’t say this road has more than its fair share of litter, although I don’t remember seeing signs that a group has adopted it to keep it clean. That’s a big thing for cannabis companies to do since their advertising is limited.

This road does have a lot of bicyclists on it, just like all of the roads out here. I saw a lot of bicyclists yesterday. It seems like one of them would’ve noticed a decomposition smell during those warm days.

I hope LS and AS aren’t reading these posts, although I’m sure their minds have gone to some pretty dark places in the past three weeks.

MOO

Cyclist (and sometime runner) here. It's possible a cyclist reported seeing something. When I'm riding, I semi-zone out, although I am aware of my surroundings at all times. If I saw something, a smashed phone, for example, or a single shoe, I might not stop and make a note of it. If I realized later that it might have significance, depending on the roadside features, I'd probably have trouble telling you exactly where I saw it.

The only statement of love has come from Gannon’s biological parents. They are the epitome of what true grief looks like, especially his mother.

That’s genuine, and as raw and real as it gets.

SM however, that’s another story. Even (likely) in death, Gannon is mentioned only when it suits a purpose; only when it suits SM.

No emotion. No grief.

It’s not like we haven’t seen that before, but in my experience, I’ve never seen that behavior from someone who hasn’t done something horrible.
I am just absolutely repulsed. Is there a different species of humans living among us? (No literal species people, put the aluminum away. sorry trying to take off the dark mood) but honestly this is just so inhumane. Who could live in any home or take care of a child and not love them? Beyond my understanding and there are so many. SMH

Does the ground freeze in the winter in Colorado? Is it possible to hand dig a substantial hole at this time of year?

Someone has to have posted this at some point, but I missed it. It’s a former FBI agent’s take on why they are searching where they are.

"It's not just a random thing," said former agent Pete Klismet. "With some basis of knowledge from prior cases, somebody has told them something about the specific or general location up there where they may want to look and they may find something."

Former FBI agent shares expertise on Gannon Stauch search in southern Douglas County - KRDO
I’d like to hear more from him. He’s a former profiler from Colorado Springs and he helped with the Dylan Redwine case.

Okay; now I feel better.

If they've got a laundry list of various things to be searching for, it's possible that Site 1 radioed Site 2 and said "hey, upon our best information and belief, let's switch search mandates" or similar.

I think she poisoned him or overdosed him with enough medication to kill him. I'm thinking that was why he had a hard time walking to the truck. I kind of think the poor boy died on the way to where TS was going to dump his body. If she buried him then she probably has a blister or blisters on her left hand where she tried to cover the bandage up with the shirt she was wearing. I'm a lefty and have had blisters on my left hand from rakes and shovels. I wonder if they're sifting for pills she could have used to poison Gannon.

I'm praying he's found alive and that someone has him but I don't think he is. She's dark and she's evil another Frazee. MOO

I'm a rightie, but when I'm working in the yard early in the spring, I'm more likely to get a blister on my left hand because I don't use it as often as I do my right.

Yeah, we discussed this at the time. I was of the opinion that it could have been caused by a shovel too.

I don’t think we ever determined if she is left or right handed, but the blister should be on her dominant hand.

If she’s a lefty, that means a lot.
Note that I also get blisters on my non-dominant hand because my wedding and other ring cause more friction. So it takes less. Also, when I’m using a shorter, sharp spade (maybe a yard tall) in the garden, I’m holding that top horizontal handle with the right and the friction is actually happening on my left hand when I use it on the straight vertical end of the shovel to help lift the heavy load.

Agreed; now that you mention it, I sometimes can fix various things in the space-time continuum where last I saw them. I always hesitate to call it a "photographic memory", because it certainly doesn't work universally; but if it's stuff I'm paying attention to, the chances go way up. I generally have to simultaneously (1) consciously note that I find something interesting; and (2) consciously look at the setting in which the interesting item appears.

Interesting how yesterday there wasn’t a single news reporter to be found and today they r back to reporting and still heading out to site. I wonder if we may get a PC?

I periodically check the twitter page where the press/media conferences are usually announced first: EPCSheriff (@EPCSheriff) | Twitter

They usually give plenty of notice if there is announcement or a development in the case, in order to give family as well as the media, time to travel there.
