Just took another spin through the search site. It isn't snowing there yet. The parking lot was only about half full and there were quite a few searchers packing up to leave.

They still have one lane of traffic coned off on the S-curves. Fewer people were sifting but there was a lot of activity around the trees north of the fence/two mounds of dirt location. This area has several trees and undulating landscape - a low berm and then a higher berm, both running parallel to the road. The searchers were specifically focusing in the lowest-lying area between the berms and there were a lot of evidence flags there.

I hope we get an update of some kind tonight. I saw three different news trucks nearby so interest definitely seems to be heightened.
I just got back home from driving through, too. It looks a lot different from last week. The snow melt has been good. Hopefully tonights snow doesn't put them too far back.

What are they nitpicking over with all the snow sifting? That’s not about finding a body.
Clearly it’s incredibly important, whatever it is.

I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out what in the world they are looking for, in the same small area, for days on end. I don’t think they’ve found human remains, we would know.

They’re clearly onto something. So...what is it?!

A bit confusing, though, since there wasn't snow cover the day he went missing, was there?

No clue as to what they are sifting for but it seems important given the time they are spending there.

When we do find out what it is, I get the feeling I’m going to say “I never would have guessed that in a million years.

Because I can’t even venture a guess at this point.
The key to the gate she mentioned? I dunno, just thinking of something small...

Nitpicking
may produce evidence of a crime committed and probable cause to make an arrest.

Of course, recovering a body is the ultimate priority but a defendant can be charged and convicted without a body.

Have they had the flashing light from the cop cars this whole time, or just today?
Today they were down to directing traffic through one lane. That's why they were flashing lights. The other day when I drove through they were not. They just had marker cars for the snow plows to know where to plow between.

Whenever I see footage of the search area all I can think is “talk about finding a needle in a haystack”

...to have to sift to find something? Dang.

The only Turkey Creek that comes to mind to me is off 115 going to Canon City.
There's also a Turkey Creek Road that goes to Tiny Town, up near Conifer and Evergreen. Creepily, that's where the body of a Coors Brewery heir was found after a failed ransom attempt 60 years ago. That's probably the one you're thinking of that's 40 minutes away, @MichelleBlue. Out of curiosity, why do you ask?

Dear Lord! LE is actually SIFTING snow??? I've seen a lot of crime scenes and have never seen that technique. Of course I am in KY too, and snow is usually wet.
Now I have to think what is small enough to be sifted. Casings? An action figure? Matchbox car?
Have bullets/casings even been considered in this mix? I missed a couple of days.
Moo, Moo

Teeth. (See Kelsey Berreth case where a partial tooth was found while sifting a burn pit on the Frazee ranchette, maybe by some from the same team? Frazee is in prison for the rest of his life and then some!)

I have been following this case since day 1. It sure is frustrating wondering what the heck they could be searching for. Whatever it is, I hope they can find it. They had enough people out all weekend looking so it must be vital to their investigation. Hopefully we will hear something tomorrow.

The only time I've seen that kind of nitpicking for smaller items in crime shows was for a murder weapon. I can imagine (like others here) that any sort of digital/data recording type equipment pertinent to the case would also warrant an ALL OUT search as this seems to be. I'm thinking some sort of burner phone. I feel like LE believes they will be able to pinpoint Gannon's whereabouts with whatever it is they are currently searching for.

Very doubtful that she buried anything in cold/frozen winter soil with timeframe involved. And, I just don't feel this is a premeditated murder. More like an "Oh shizzle, what do I do now? oops I really screwed up!" self-preserving stepparent type of manslaughter. Poor sweet Gannon.

I think you may have a great point and am glad you brought it up.

There has been good and multiple internet "content" that *suggests* TS and AS marriage was not good. Since no ******** was started to address the greed, I wouldn't discount a hoax disappearance to retain the husband.

I found it odd that she boasts thankfulness to her husband in one of her last pressers. He kicked her out of the house Tuesday.
She wants back in that house.
Narcissistic smooze....
