We have absolutely no idea. We don’t know what they were looking for, or what, if anything, they found.

They’ve managed to keep everything incredibly quiet here.

Well, I haven't heard what the family dynamics are lately. Is Gannon's mother still there? Is AS and LS communicating or apart? Just a couple of questions I've been pondering.

I'm not sure, but I thought there was a news source saying there was going to be a statement by a spokesman for the family, so I assumed that meant the parents.

I don't think TS has gone back to the house since she stormed off before her interview. I'm not sure if Albert or anyone is staying at the house, or if LE has been there recently. Jmo

I just got back home from driving through, too. It looks a lot different from last week. The snow melt has been good. Hopefully tonights snow doesn't put them too far back.

I was thinking about this too, but it’s snowed several days since Gannon disappeared, so this wouldn’t be the first round of snow they’ve dug through. Puts a new damper on their progress for sure though

Replying to @*********** Hey Sallie, that’s not something sheriff’s officers can share with us, but I’ll let you know what one neighbors told me. There’s a few yellow ribbon style ties that are just from a property evaluation. She was not familiar with the flags, said they were new.

Thanks for posting this. I was out driving through and didn't see he replied to me...lol. I wanted to see if any of the yellow flags were still there and damned if I didn't forget to check because I was watching the road so carefully in that curve.

Having the proof for a no body case is the goal now.
Later if they don't find the body they may end up dealing down for the body allowing the killer to avoid the DP and recovering Gannon.

Nothing huge here, but this is what’s left over from today’s snow sifting during the search for #GannonStauch. You can see two sets of snow piles left over, most of the equipment (and any flags) no longer here. This is the wrap up for search day 21.

Do you think one of the searchers dropped something they had previously found? I just can't figure out why they are sifting snow when there wasn't snow on the ground when Gannon went missing - or do I have that wrong? Wouldn't he and any item be UNDER the snow, not in it?

you have to know they have excellent reason to be in that same area for 6 straight days, they are pretty sure there is something there that is very vital to Gannon and what happened, someone either saw her driving by there or a ping on the car navigator showed it was there for some time...there is a reason, of course they aren't saying but there is no way they would spend that much time in that one area for just some gossip or a thought....tick tock, just waiting on time now..IMO

The only time I've seen that kind of nitpicking for smaller items in crime shows was for a murder weapon. I can imagine (like others here) that any sort of digital/data recording type equipment pertinent to the case would also warrant an ALL OUT search as this seems to be. I'm thinking some sort of burner phone. I feel like LE believes they will be able to pinpoint Gannon's whereabouts with whatever it is they are currently searching for.

Very doubtful that she buried anything in cold/frozen winter soil with timeframe involved. And, I just don't feel this is a premeditated murder. More like an "Oh shizzle, what do I do now? oops I really screwed up!" self-preserving stepparent type of manslaughter. Poor sweet Gannon.

That’s what it seems...they have information about something specific, and I wonder if they got a tip, or if they were pointed there as a result of investigative work, like GPS. I can’t imagine what it’s like to be in the hot seat, watching this unfold across media, and thinking, “I never thought they had snow sifters.”

Procedural question, if they were to find GS in Douglas County, is that still within Dan May’s district? Also, what are the chances he will still be around when this goes to trial since his term limit is up this year? I’m sure that probably depends on how long it takes to wrap up the investigation.

I don't know about CO, but I know a couple of instances in other places where there have been individuals missing including adults, and the public was requested to check their yards etc.

Why do you they do this for adults and not kids???

Yep, I'm in the same boat.
There are untold numbers of things that small, that may be evidence in this case.

I really can’t imagine such searching for a “thing”...what could be so vital that can’t be reproduced, i.e electronic logs to back-up a phone, camera, video etc...the actual device is seldom needed these days. A SIM card? But seriously, for nearly a week?

Yet if they had any idea of human remains, I think the area would be blocked from view, ME would be on site, CSI in white suits doing the work, Hazmat suits, etc...which I do not think is happening?

Totally driving me nuts.

I'll be sad if what they find only further links someone to a particular route, but doesn't get them a lot closer to finding Gannon.

I think the sifters have only been there for two days max (and there couldn't have been as many yesterday). Before that, they were grid searching (quite a bit along fence lines) with poles, the kind they use to probe in snow.

While the FBI did not confirm it, the particular group that's there apparently has the ability to get electronics sniffing dogs.

Also, some dogs were taken to the house and then (apparently) taken back. Perhaps the dogs picked up an intermittent scent along the road/fenceline area.

They likely used metal detectors, as well, and there were probably lots of hits...
