Seems to me that evidence gathered from the home and carried to the truck in the duffel bag would be what is being disposed of. It doesn't make sense to me to remove his clothing, shoes etc and toss them and then dispose of his body elsewhere.
I wonder if she smashed items like his Switch, phone etc. with a mallet on the woodworking table into little pieces and then took them up to the search area and disposed of them. But, even if that were true, where is Gannon?
And, what other items could she have wanted to be rid of?

First time joining in. I’ve been following this case closely to the point of obsession. My heart aches for this boy and his family... I can’t imagine their pain.

One theory I haven’t seen discussed is the likelihood of a fire in that area. Couldn’t a fire have been hidden by the berm? Depending on the size of property, it’s possible a fire could be going without property owners even being aware. And if the fire didn’t consume all “evidence”, wouldn’t it be possible scavengers picked through after it cooled?

They’re definitely searching with purpose. It’s so hard to have all of these thoughts while wondering.
I've seen no signs of a fire in that immediate area.

Does we really have to go there with these disturbing far- fetched possibilities, when no evidence for them exists? Common sense says sifting near a road is for evidence thrown out a vehicle window. IMO.

Ha, I was just posting about the possibility of him being burned as I remember LE finding bone fragments and human tissue in the backyard with the Mackenzie Lueck case. But you are right, the logistics of that are just so far fetched and I was going down the rabbit hole of her scattering ashes and concealing smoke....on the side of a public road...lol. I think she was caught on a security or dash cam being in the area and then on closer inspection discarding something small out the window in what seemed a random place. Hope it's found and full on incriminating DNA that will help with a conviction if no body found.

His phone was left at home. Honestly, she didn’t have a lot of time. Plus she had shopping to do.

It may be awhile before we know. I’m in Colorado Springs and it’s only 5:30. We had snow overnight and really slick roads right now. All the schools and military bases are on a 2 hour delay so probably government offices are, too. Hope we get an update from EPCSO today. I’m guessing we didn’t get one yesterday because it was a holiday.
Replying to myself to add that NOW all schools have updated their status to Closed. We have 5 inches so far at my house in Security.

A key would be much easier to find with a metal detector. Whatever they’re sifting for, it isn’t metal.
I actually lost my keys in a snowstorm once and tried to find them with a metal detector and it did not pick them up. Not sure the reason, and I am admittedly an amateur with the metal detector but maybe they don't always work in the elements?

Agreed from someone who has jogged around that S curve at least twice since Gannon went missing. I have been wracking my brain thinking about what I saw or missed seeing on the side of 105 those early mornings before all this recent snow (it's snowing again today). There is just no sign of something so bizarre. Not saying these theories couldn't happen--just agreeing they are so far fetched. I looked at the trash while I was jogging in early February. I know that sounds strange, but I did. I always look at the trash on the sides of 105 when I jog, and yes it is amazing what people toss out of their vehicles. But I absolutely saw no sign of any remains (human or otherwise), clothing, fire, woodchipping, etc etc. Not saying they couldn't be there and I missed them, but then so did all the bike riders, motorcyclists, dog walkers, etc. That area looks remote in the videos but it's really not. There's plenty of traffic.

I imagine that will prohibit search efforts today.
Any forecast suggesting how long it is in for at all?

I have been racking my brain like the rest of you trying to figure out what they could be searching for and have come to the conclusion that if it seems too unreasonable it probably is.
The most logical answer to what they are searching for is something that was thrown out the window while they were driving down the road.
I was thinking to myself maybe someone called in a tip and said "hey I saw this shoe on the side of the highway, or this key, or pick whatever small item that could be relevant in this case" but they could not remember the exact location, hence the sifting.
I would do this myself when I was on long runs. See a weird item on the side of the road and think what's the story behind that. If there was a high profile case in my area and I saw something like that I would definitely call it in as a tip.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I GUARANTEE I'd find keys with my detector, even if they're under 2 feet of snow.

that was my thought as well - I'm still considering clothing. I do not think she dismembered him but I recall Zahra Baker so anything is possible here

Also, SM seems to me the kind of person that is used to people doing the heavy lifting for her. I can't imagine she put too much time/ effort/ work into planning an elaborate disposal of this precious boy. Honestly she just seems too lazy to me. I can see her being the type to boss other's around to do all the work for her but I doubt very many people would go along with something like this and not crack.

Could very well have been user error in my case.

Could it be something the dogs hit on? Blood or a cadaver scent in just that spot? So they are sifting and digging to be diligent and hope to find "something". It would be difficult and perhaps too good of luck to actually catch her throwing something out the window on a dash or security camera.

MOO The need at times to discuss things graphic in these cases is certainly there. IMHO, one must steel their nerves to the likelihood of it.

Also, a fire would easily be seen at night, for miles around, in particular, one with the intention of cremating a body, which, BTW, would STILL leave lots of evidence.

I think someone, maybe several, who are involved in this thing, possibly Gannon himself, was/were at that site, and the sifting of the snow was intended to glean items of evidence that LE felt were there, based on discoveries that were made in the earlier, pole and shovel searches. MOO
