Really? Did they call off the search or just limit the amount of people?
What is the source for this?
Sheriff's office just stated 50.
Sheriff's Office Update on Search Efforts for Gannon Stauch
I know that several hundred if not more applied.
Today /now yesterday would have been ideal search conditions.
Unless it's a thing that dog units worked today, better large crowds are separated from dog-work.. Just guessing.

I just assumed the mom was driving.
Do we know if the car is registered to the daughter?
I saw somebody posted that but I never saw evidence of vehicle's ownership.

Very well could have been.
I was just referencing that TS told everyone in interview about LE wanting keys. Very safe to assume LE had a warrant for vehicle since so many in thread were requesting verification on when it was towed. It's in the interview which LINK is upstream. Can't post links from this version of Android.

MOO
Yes, since they got a warrant so quickly they must have reason to believe there might be important evidence in there.

Or, could it mean they are checking the GPS, if there is a tracking device on the car?
I don't know how that works.
Do they need the actual car to check the GPS?

Also, is it the same car that they apparently pulled out of the garage when LE was searching the property?

I don't know where I read that but I hope it was in MSM. It was posted here yesterday.

Maybe they were made to feel extremely unwelcome. -Maybe the house itself was being forensically searched. Just putting myself in their position, yeah, going to buy some new underwear and temporary clothes would be imperative for this gal who had a job. I'm not saying what happened on Sunday or Monday, just that buying underwear and other clothes for her 17 year old, and for herself, doesn't seem insensitive at all. To me. There are a lot of other things to criticize SM for.
I hear you and agree that shopping for clothes while being barred from the house is reasonable.

However, IMO there is nothing keeping SM and daughter from entering the home legally since she and bio dad are married and it may be more about feeling unwelcome. Or for all we know dad told her to stay away. But even then he'd probably allow them in long enough to get some clothes and other necessary items.

So, much of it may be coming from the SM herself. I got the feeling from her interview that her default response is one of playing victim. Of course I could be wrong.

It's a shame to see the SM make Gannon's disappearance about her and her feelings while the bio parents are able to come together in a crisis over their son. I guess it's just about priorities. MOO.

Wonder if there is a teenage boy, or young adult in that neighborhood that is a little troublesome?
Yes, it wouldn't be the first time a neighbor is responsible for the disappearance of a child. We've seen that here in cases. If it was someone young then the odds are slightly higher that LE would sniff them out but there's no guarantee.

I suspect LE is all over Gannon's disappearance and they probably have a handle on what happened so now it's just about gathering evidence. MOO. Or at least I hope so.

I think just limiting the amount of people. Lots of us filled out spplications to get background checks for the searching but we were not used. I can see why, they dont need to unload lots of people to contaminate areas..but still, it was tough not to go and do something! Esp since I know snow is coming tomorrow. I have faith in God and LE. Im just a moma of boys near same age and wanted to get out there!!

I can’t bring myself to watch SM interview. From everything I’ve read, I’m already feeling sick about the entire situation. The idea of an 11 yr old running away during CO winter with no phone or money or a jacket is not believable. He is so young. :(

Ditto this. I trust my fellow Websleuths' opinions.

Still praying for a positive outcome . . .

OMGoodness. I'm not caught up today but when I reread the flyer it says he didn't have a book bag with him. Obviously, he didn't plan to runaway. Was there an incident and he hastily ran out with no coat, no phone? Did he get locked out by someone to "teach him a lesson?" My heart sank when I thought of Leslie Mahaffy falling victim to Paul Bernardo when she got locked out for breaking curfew :( That case still haunts me.

@MsBetsy

LE are holding cards close to the vest. They have to and have learned from other cases in my opinion.

The GPS system should be easy to track electronically but I really haven't seen anything in MSM about vehicles.

Really the only way we know about the one is because TS blabbed it to MSM while going on her ME ME ME ranting interview. ;)

Her attorney will rethink any further interviews with MSM and for darn sure she will not be speaking with ANY LE unless she is ..... You know

Just my opinion of course and I still miss our COW emoji.

Ok, thanks. Maybe since they have the FBI and others searching, they decided it wasn't necessary.

Imo
Lots ad lots of people had signed up and received police clearance to go searching and expected that to happen today.
Applicants had been invited by Sheriff dept.
It is a bit strange cos dogs could have worked before a large crowd descended...
They were talking about gridding the entire area, dividing people into groups of 40 so that every inch of ground would be covered.
They did issue a warning against people searching alone or unsupervised because of the danger of disturbing evidence.
It's a week today or tomorrow.
Sometimes searches can be delayed due to waits for dogs with specialist training. That may be a factor.
The local people are amazing and working so hard to get his details out there, painting everything blue and holding prayer vigils.. everything humanly possible.
TheyWANT to search, they want to find him and would no doubt have been happy to mobilise a week ago had they been given that option, it's disappointing.

Because it could affect her whole military career, which is just starting out. To get into the academy she would have had extensive background checks (I have 2 18 year old female relatives going into the AF academy there, and one relative who flies planes all over, internationally, for AF), and her mother said she had never done anything wrong or broken any rules. It's hard enough for females to compete in the armed services at the academy level which is the main conduit for becoming an officer. So I think she was mortified, embarrassed, and I doubt, IMO, that a young person in her position as a beginning cadet would have caused a melee to the point of being handcuffed over who had the keys to the car. So, if you were referring to me, that's why I always refer to the USAF, it's hard to get in, and it's hard to stay in, and even rougher for women who have to deal with all the sexual assaults and discrimination. (Throughout the military)
I am not referring to anyone, I don't remember who said it, I just remember that I saw it several times and, to me, it didn't make much sense. She didn't get arrested, she got handcuffed, I doubt she will be put in any sort of "black list" because of that. I respect everything you said, but a child is missing. She's 17, probably under stress, I'm not surprised that she most likely freaked out a little bit and got handcuffed. Her mother should have thought about her daughter before calling her to speak ON CAMERA, if she was so worried about her future military career.

That poor little girl.

Talk about a train wreck of a case.

Thanks to the Keystone Kops aka the Boulder Police Dept, along w/ the incompetent Boulder DA's Office, that little girl will never see justice.

Never.

Man, these Colorado cases stink.

Did they give any information at all to those who had received full approval?
Are they expecting volunteers to be on stand-by again tomorrow, do you imagine?
I'm sorry none of you got to search, I really am.

Exactly.

A passenger can't hand over keys if she doesn't have them, can't volunteer more without risking trouble, perhaps the keys were in the pocket of the driver, and if she didn't offer them up because she didn't want the car taken away. THAT might raise the bar a notch or two, in terms of LE's response.

No idea if anything happened like that, just trying to make sense of her account.

According to the LE post, they moved their equipment and had 50 people searching for as long as daylight held out. That feels pretty directed to me. And the last post: no more updates tonight tells us nothing or everything. If they had a specific search site, it's entirely possible they found what they went there to find. In which case, notifications and arrest will soon follow. JMO

I don't want a terrible outcome. I'm afraid of a sad, sad series of events followed by a panicked and unsophisticated cover up. I hope I'm wrong.
