Ok, so it might look similar to the daughters car, which would defeat the purpose of not wanting Gannon to recognize the car.
Either way, that explanation for the car rental makes no sense to me. Everyone in Gannon's family said he would never run away. Even if AS thought he might, after 24 hours he would probably think Gannon would want to be found as opposed to avoiding a car that he recognized. Jmo

How many times has a family member said that about their runaway child?

Nobody saw that child after 10.13am Monday January27.
It matters nothing what she rented Tuesday Wednesday Thursday or Friday or tomorrow. Even if she rented camels or lions, it's not gonna help us find him.

The 4 hr window and all the possibilities within are where the answer lies.

Sure it's massive country.
Sure it's a needle in a haystack scenario but I'm through with chasing her cobwebs.
Enough is enough.
The case is stalled search wise.
A few guys clearing snow from the side of the road or sifting snow or eating snow on sides of roads is going nowhere.
I feel like taking a flight myself at this stage.

To look at what is possible, hustle some drones and choppers and make enough noise so they will be given.
enough is enough. This is pathetic.
If she killed him on Monday but rented the vehicle on Tuesday to move him or take a long ride to bury him, it matters. And it matters because LE needs to follow the trail and find Gannon. It matters. IMO

I'm a lot behind and I'm sure by the time this posts you'll be on to something else. I felt crazed last night as we went through mileage, etc. I'm thinking somewhat clearer, I think, today. This is my opinion about the rental car.
I think the only important part about it is, why did she want to keep AS away from his truck? We know she drove her gas drinking VW SUV to the airport. Nine miles I think? Nobody does that. As far as using it so Gannon wouldn't recognize them is BS and I don't buy it. Moo. I think the whole thing was to keep Al out of that red pickup. Why? What was she afraid of? If Gannon was ever in the rental car, (and I don't think he was) LE knows this. Jmo. Where is Gannon? I'm hoping today brings us closer to that answer. Find this sweet boy and bring him home.

But LE have that under control.
They have all vehicles.
They know where they traveled, provided gPS was functioning in all 4.

I still can't stop thinking of this.....
Could imply that she wanted to know how to overdose. could also imply that she was freaking out because all the regular doses that she had given him did not help, he was getting worse, because the punch in the stomach couldn't be cured. Either way, it is a troublesome question for her to ask. IMO

Trying to catch up on here but WOW! Poor AS riding in a rental car going door to door looking for his child?! TS should be ashamed!!! This really brings tears to my eyes. This horrid game of hers needs to stop! Gannon and his family need closure. TS knows something and will be NEEDING to answer one way or another what HER PART is in him missing.

Thank you kindly. Your posts the other day about the watch taught me a few things. And this Jodi Arias case is at the very least interesting since gas and odometers were the red flags that unraveled the story.
That and a million other things. Speaking to Arias. I was obsessed with it too. Juan Martinez was brilliant. Resulting in many of us becoming Juanettes :D Her Interrogation tapes can be found on YouTube. Prepare for the bizarre. Much like we see here. I don't think anyone could break Tee thru an aggressive Interrogation. IMO she will continue to be a right fighter.

Archived article from January 28th suggest that cell phones were already being checked.

Deputies are actively searching for the boy in between calls for service, and the case has been forwarded to major crimes detectives. Such a move is made when additional investigative tools, such as the ability to obtain deleted information off a phone, are needed, she said.

LE showed up at 10 o'clock Tuesday night with flashlights to search around the home.

Sounds like the Stauchs had to wait 24 hours after Gannon went missing before LE could really get involved because of her runaway story.

She was probably extensively interviewed Wednesday afternoon after returning the rental.

My questioning is this...if LE already had TS’s cell phone the 28th then, the 950 mile trip would have taken place after they had her phone.

Could this possibly hamper one of LE’s means of tracking her whereabouts after the fact when time may have allowed to ditch incriminating evidence..as in after the fact? Could they be looking for a burner phone?

MOO

They could indeed.

BBM exactly! Hypothetically, if she told the rental car rep that the mileage in was 95.5, for example, and the rep misheard her, then she only drove 90.5 miles, which would make more sense with her "story" about driving house to house looking for Gannon.

But generally that would be caught on the next rental, when the mileage out didn't jive with the previous rental data. We used to audit rental car receipts at the end of the day just for this reason, plus the folks cleaning and gassing the cars also kept track of the mileage on the odometer when they serviced the car.
Plus the gas tank went from full to empty which takes a minimum of 300 miles for that make and model.

Plus she is quite literally a social media junkie. She wouldn't have been able to go on this long trip without access to Facebook, etc.. So I think a burner phone is more likely than not.

You think all of those forensics experts and investigators and the DA were at the house all of those times, looking for a runaway?

Of course not ! Read all my other posts. See, there is no logic to any of this. I am waiting for her arrest. Somebody challenged me about my knowledge of probable cause - my post was sarcasm... my goal is for us to forget that nonsense person and focus on getting this boy found.

Did someone say the rental is a 2019 and it was rented on January 28 with only 5 miles on it. Seems strange.

Is that not just on the trip counter? I reset mine to 0 every time I fill up to see how far I get on x amount of petrol

ETA beaten to it,should've kept reading:oops:

I think the other important part is whether she took Gannon somewhere in the rental car and where she took him if so. Because that’s where we will find him. Agree that I hope LE has already had dogs out at the rental car and they know more than we do. But whether he was in the truck or the rental car, they don’t seem to know where he is.

I don't know, but I think Gannon's parents would know him best. It's very unusual for an eleven year old to run away from home, especially when there are no warning signs. Even LE did not seem to believe the story TS gave them.

ETA, I have also never heard of any parent wanting to rent a car to disguise themselves so their eleven year old child, possibly scared and in danger, cannot recognize them. Jmo

Absolutely it matters, because her reasoning for needing the rental car was absurd, so there must have been some other reason for her to need a different vehicle, we just don't know what that is yet.

Agreed that LE & FBI are considering all the psychological traits surfacing here. I think we mostly see this the same way.

I am just wanting to state that for many of us here, we are not analyzing her comments as part of a social game. We aren’t going to stop examining what she says because we fear giving her too many “attention” points that feed her crazy. I don’t care how big her ego gets or whether she convinces herself that she is “winning” in her alleged coverup attempts. LE and anyone else trying to help needs to be perseverant and not let her tiring antics prevent them from giving their full effort to assessing her words and actions. Let LS play any game she wants. Meanwhile, I will be doing what I am sure LE is doing and that is carefully sifting any information that she does provide in case it provides a new avenue for finding Gannon.
I haven’t seen anyone express fear, or claim that taking note of her crackpot stories is a social game. Some of us who have been burned by these people, or had to bury someone because of them, are just saying that one can be baited into an endless rabbit hole by attending to everything flying off the forked tongue of a narcissist. They’re known for leaving trails of useless information.

I just hope LE has enough on her locations and anything found in a search to amp the pressure. They may not have to say a thing to her and the images of where they search will send her off the beam and stupidly pointing to something specific about where Gannon is.

I totally believe she had time! Others on here do not.

I agree she had time. Our family regularly does an 8 hour trip there and back in a weekend. Granted we do it with one day driving there, one visiting family with a return the next day.

Especially if TS had another driver, 450 miles is about a 7 hour trip.

I have just woken to this news of a receipt for a rental car (terrible being 9 hours ahead and always missing the busy part of the day in CO!) I have lost sleep hours trying to keep up in Gannon's case and right now, I admit, I am not caught up in the thread.

I am mindblown at the 955 miles, allegedly, put on the odometer in such a short time span.
Did SM stash Gannon on Monday and return in the rental on Tuesday to pick him up and drive him out of State?

Does the rental have GPS?

I'm sure LE are all over this. But I still can't help but think how much pleasure SM is getting from watching the goose chase that SHE has created. So many man hours. So many people on it. So many prayers. So many pleas. So many questions.
All at her behest.

She seems confident and cocky enough to believe that she will never be found out.
I'm just glad that LE is in charge here and not me. I would never have the patience to put up with this cr@p.

What will this nasty piece of self-centredness come up with next? I shudder to think.
Maybe she had someone else helping her that drove the car, out if state and back. Maybe Gannon isn't even in Colorado. MOO
