Bet the airport security cameras would have caught her coming and goings.
Yes, and if COS is like the smaller airports I go to, there must have been some camera record of her parking her own car, and a receipt. I don't think there is a case for saying she used a lot of mileage going to Denver and back.

do you know who actually saw him?
A cctv camera, possibly several because the only one we know about is Rd's though many people living there have cctv.

I think it was just the neighbor’s camera. And TS who claimed she saw him leave between 3-4 even though the camera didn’t show him returning that we are aware of.

Did that flyer get confirmed as coming from her?? That would make so much sense! :)
in the muddle of over share of not much I can not remember nor find where but the general consensus here was THE INFO came from TS. (lets call it for now 'allegedly' )
bbm

That was explained: GS suffers from IBS, not necessarily 'sick' a word in what IMO some folks typically associate with having a cold, the flu, etc.

bbm
explained by who?? TS :p
I don't see it was explained. its not the word its how its been written.
it fits in her initial narrative that he was a runaway. (a brat.) he was 'sick' and didn't go to school.
I hired another car because he wouldn't come out of hiding if he seen our cars.
she has since told the world he in on meds for ADHD .

a pattern that is not positive

No problem. That would be my guess too. Just wasn’t sure if that came out! This thread is moving so fast! Allegedly.;)

I just wondered if anyone besides the family saw him in person after he left school that Friday?

The neighbor said he saw G and his sister playing in the yard on Sunday.

MOO it would be normal, to scour Colorado Springs driving every likely street for as long as you could.
That would be assuming she was “looking” for G?

Yes, he was seen on the hike Sunday and also by neighbors.

I was curious about that too, and went to the Budget car rental site and played around with various drop scenarios. Budget appears to bake the one way fee into the base rate, and doesn't show up on the cost breakdown. For example, if I rented an economy car at COS and dropped it back at COS, the 'pay at counter' 2 day base rate is $94, but if I dropped it off at DEN, then the 2 day base rate is $122, or really far away like Salt Lake City the 2 day base rate jumps to $390.

You're right you can't fly anonymous these days.

I had raised the issue of whether there should have been a charge for dropping off at a different location. This reply from @Uninvited Guest this am is worth reading IMO if you missed it.

I don’t think LE or MSM confirmed he was seen on the hike though. Even though I have seen that said outside of WS. But I might be wrong as this thread is moving too fast to track everything.

I actually dropped out after 3 semesters because I couldn’t afford it. I did get a Pell grant the first year . This was in the late 70s and the requirements then were full time student until age of 22 to get SS benefits. I’m very very sorry for you and your kid’s losses. Congrats to your daughter on her graduation.
Thank you. I'm sorry for your loss too.Our daughter was 6 and our baby boy was 20 months old at the time. It will be 15 years this month and it's still hard. I , myself , just lost my father on February 19th ,it's been very hard and I'm 42 years old. I have to give you props for even trying to go to college after such a loss. I can't even do laundry. My kids have done pretty well , I'm very proud of both of them. They are so amazing and definitely are the reason I was able to keep going after my husband died.

We don't know if he entered the used sporting goods place or any other place she shopped, or if someone saw him at a gas station, etc. (maybe using the bathroom?). I know a lot of posters know more from SM, but I haven't seen any confirmation of that.

ETA I see now that you said Friday, but we don't know if anyone saw him after that CCTV film on Monday either. There could have been sightings that have not been shared with us, along the route she took.

Agreed. Do you feel that would use 300-400 miles of gas?
If I may, Jane, why wouldn’t she refill the tank if she did stay in town, and wasn’t “up to no good”?

Upthread it was suggested that a couple of nearby bodies of water should be considered in search.
I noticed on Google Earth 2 retention/agriculture ponds at hwy. 105 & 83. If you zoom in there's an access point off of main road onto a relatively short dirt road that comes very near the water (no fencing). Houses nearby on one side are blocked at various points from view of ponds.
Obviously, just a bunch but a water dump site so close to the main road & in general search area really got me wondering....
In my hope to find Gannon, I often find myself wanting to send messages to the tip line such as this, but I know LE is already on top of these thoughts and considering the same things we are considering. It is just the need to feel like we are doing something, anything to bring him home!

I found a google earth map several threads ago and it was possible to identify each house in the sifting-snow search.
It would have been possible to identify the owners too and I looked at a few of them, a tad handicapped because my brain doesn't function very well in relation to spatial thingys.
Almost anybody else would do a better job than I.

I know that each and every home can be researched and ownership ascertained.. I just couldn't be exactly sure which private property they were searching. I think TOS here would prevent that exploration and rightly so.
But it is open source for anybody that wants to check privately.

I went through it in the mid 90's. Relatively young widow with 4 kids under the age of 12.

Not that we're allowed to sleuth the step-daughter (or TS, really), but (total speculation as it pertains to her income) it's entirely possible TS is receiving a Social Security Survivor's benefit (payee) for her daughter, due to her daughter's deceased father.
Also, since there is only 1 benefit recipient at this point, assuming benefits are actually being paid, she is entitled to the maximum amount the SSA allots for families.
TS would have also received it until she married, but her marital status only affects her benefit, it does not affect the minor child.

The SSA details are facts, the rest is entirely speculation.
No sleuthing was performed in this post.
Batteries not included.
Dry flat.
Do not feed after midnight, or get the creature wet, under any circumstances.
All other various disclaimers apply.

I am as confused as anyone at this point. Previous to the revelation last night of the rental car ....did we guess LE searches (which aren't random) were based on pings//data either from her watch or a device (Switch)...????

Yeah, I am suspect of the whole thing, so I tend to agree with your line of thinking. I guess maybe she didn’t know about the extra fuel charges if you don’t return it full. But I tend to think she didn’t spend a whole gas tank driving up and down streets either. Wouldn’t mind hearing AS weigh in as he may be able to confirm or deny how long they searched.
