JMO. Hypothetically speaking.....
Sometimes there is lingering issues or “bad blood” between ex-wife/biological mother towards the new wife/stepmother due to the way the marriage ended or if there was an overlap of relationships.
MOO
I agree and see it so much when younger couples have kids. Sometimes the new partner has animosity towards the ex and people don’t just break up and end it if they have kids. Their ex is in their life for the rest of it. Some women and men can’t get over that and it causes huge issues in the relationship.

Do we know if the sister and stepsister were interviewed by LE?

*Rumor Alert* CSI Van is at the Stauch home right now. Watching Twitter to see if any news crews show up so we can verify.

So confused about the "runaway" status. If he was at a friend's and didn't come home on time and couldn't be found right away, how would that magically turn him into a runaway? Is that how SM reported him to LE?

This makes me think of Alissa Turney (just heard a podcast about her) - she "went missing" and her stepfather called LE but told them she just ran away and was probably with her aunt in California so they shouldn't look too hard. But he told the family he'd said something else to LE, and acted all frantic and worried, organized searches, etc. (All evidence points to him as killing her and disposing of her body, which has never been found.)

Ita.
And interviewed without TS present.
TS is the stepmom to the youngest but not the older daughter; afaik.
So only the bio dad and mom would need to give consent for the youngest daughter to be interviewed.

We don’t, but law enforcement would absolutely want to speak to both of them.

They could potentially shed a lot of light on the timeline, if they don’t know more than that.

My guess is that one or both of them do know a lot more.

The only thing that makes sense is that he was reported as a runaway by SM.

Because a kid going missing while walking to a friend’s house looks more like a potential kidnapping than anything.

It’s the only logical explanation for that immediate and firm characterization.

Ahhhh.....so things are ramping up! Here we go......

LE knows stuff. They have info back from whatever warrants they had.

Hmmm....not sure I recall a CSI Van at a home for a runaway child before. Anybody?

Not if law enforcement believes the “runaway” narrative.

It’s been clear for some time that they do not.

I believe there’s a search on his phone for “can my parents find me if my phone is turned off.” Or similar.

Clever way to misdirect if a child isn’t a runaway, hypothetically.

It’s been one week since 11-year-old Gannon Stauch was last seen at his Lorson Ranch home. @EPCSheriff says it’s gotten 134 tips & is continuing to search for the missing boy @KKTV11News

Jenna Middaugh on Twitter
maybe she is there ?

In the Kelsey Berreth case just west of Colorado Springs, LE went through her condo after she went missing, and then released the condo to her parents. Her parents later noticed some blood in the bathroom, and notified authorities. LE closely re-examined the condo and found extensive evidence of a horrific and bloody murder.

If LE ends up back at the Lorson Ranch house, the house will be extensively searched.

A week ago, they had a runaway on their hands. They no longer believe that, IMO.

Yes. Hypothetically, that would be an obvious effort at misdirection.

It would explain the quick “runaway” determination.

It’s also something that an 11 year old probably wouldn’t do, and incredibly convenient.

Plus, had he actually made that search, he would have learned that shutting the phone off does the same thing as leaving it at home.

It cannot be tracked.

In my experience with WS, things ramp up fast when someone starts talking.

Do we think someone is talking?
