I don't think there is going to be a simple explanation in this case.

Based on the evidence that we know so far, what do you think the simplest explanation could be?

Technically it need not be the simplest answer in general, Occam's Razor theory is that when faced with answers that are both as likely to be true, the one that makes the least amount of assumption is more likely to be true.

So several hours ago they said it could take days and now they have cleared it?!
What is going on?!

I think the sheriff's department is working to control the narrative. One way is to put out information with a broad timeline and not use the full timeline given or keep returning to the scene if needed. They were asking quietly that people not share video and everything blew up. They are trying to put a massive puzzle together and rushing the placing of the pieces could be a disaster for them, in terms of missing key evidence, finding Gannon, building a case if there is someone who hurt him or killed him. I recently rewatched a show on Stephanie Hernandez (14 yo who was abducted, raped, tortured, and held for 6+ months) and listening to the LEOs have to play the chess game of information to keep the public on board and helping with the case, not tipping their hand if there was a captor and Stephanie was alive, and not defaming the victim (who some thought was not a victim but a runaway) was fascinating. I think we will see a pattern of broad statements to provide information with lots going on that we won't know about unless the actions are visible or when the final search warrants are published (if they are). Like everyone I want to know where this boy is, what happened to him, including the how and why. But, I think we are in a waiting game.

People have to sleep. I imagine we’ll see the same thing over the next few days.

They’ll spend several hours there, and leave in the evening. They won’t maintain a continuous presence.

Maybe just for the night?
I don't know. What do they mean by "cleared?" Does that mean they released it as a crime scene and the family can go back?

Does anybody know?

BBM:

Hahahahahaha. Oh, my gosh.
What is it they say about great minds, again?

@gitana, here's what I said in response to that exact op a little earlier today:

So, this was another prime example of how pre-conceived notions cloud perception.

IIRC, the poster thought that it was SM with BD in the press conference video.

Hence, what the poster "saw" from who she thought at the time was SM, were crocodile tears.

Once it was explained that it was BM, not SM, in that presser, the poster backed away from that characterization.

We all do it.

Our brains take in sensory stimuli and interpret it based on its context.

We look for it, we see it.

Seek, and ye shall find.

Wow, I guess they got everything they needed and it didn't take as long as they thought.
I hope this means we will hear something tomorrow. Jmo

Several twitter followers asked the same question. The reporter tweeted back they cleared the equipment for the night and might be back tomorrow.

"Hello, Investigators went into the home packed up gear they were seen entering with earlier and left. Clearing the crime lab from the home."
"It appears that way for tonight. But they could always return."

Would a renter use the cameras and security system? Would it be under the owner's name or account?
Why do so many people in that subdivision have Ring or similar?
Good questions. I hadn't thought about the renter aspect.

I think the ring doorbells are an "it" thing right now. Pretty cool technology and reasonably priced. I bet a ton of people got them as xmas presents.

In terms of evidence, if we can trust the video and time stamps on it, there is no evidence so far that Gannon went to a friends house on foot on Monday. We have nothing, not a shread of evidence, that he was seen past the point of getting into the truck with TS. Although, I really wish we did!

So many factors can play into where TS went with Gannon and why she did not return with him, to the best of our our knowledge. Social media has been a huge problem in this case. It wouldn't surprise me if the Sheriffs department keeps everything very close to the vest going forward to avoid any detriment to a positive outcome, or to ensure justice for Gannon is intact.

I am thinking the simplist explanation for the way this case has played out is very strategic movement on the behalf of the FBI and LE. TS has hurled accusations that her rights have been violated. I'm certain law enforcement doesn't want to stir the hornets nest because that may not end well for Gannon. It also may cause anyone involved to flee or possibly do worse. In short, I think LE is being very cautious while gathering evidence because the last thing they want is to tip this tumultuous situation into an even worse scenario. I am going to try and remain hopeful even though it's getting harder as every minute passes.

Ha, Sure!
It sounds like someone may have given you insider information.
Soft taco and a Quesarito, and we're all square.

Sleep ya say that like it’s a thing

I was shocked too when she called her by name and asked her to be on camera. Who does that?!

Someone desperate for an alibi perhaps?

What did TS state happened on Monday? Do we have a detailed account of that day or just stuff from social media?

But I bet they have an officer there overnight.

Oddly, I've considered theory that she drugged him and took him away to hide for a few weeks, let everyone suffer, then appears the hero by magically producing him. So many holes there, obviously! TS does not strike me as a criminal mastermind. I also wonder about her motivation. What would make her angry enough to fatally injure him?

Technically it need not be the simplest answer in general, Occam's Razor theory is that when faced with answers that are both as likely to be true, the one that makes the least amount of assumption is most likely to be true.
Well based on the fact that the person last to see Gannon lied about when she last saw him and was seen leaving with him in a vehicle and coming back without him, and he still hasn't been found I would think that would be that she is responsible for his disappearance.

That they appeared to be a normal family doesn't necessarily mean there was no foul play involved. We don't always know what happens behind closed doors.

So the reason I asked what other explanation there could be is because I'm interested in other theories that might explain what happened.

I agree that I don't think it's likely he was sold into slavery or that she is hiding him, I was just curious as to what other explanation there could be that makes the least amount of assumption?

Imo

As far as the custody, it has been posted on SM by LH’s family that AS had temporary custody because LH was having health problems and was in the hospital.

LH’s youngest daughter is 2.
Colorado has parental responsibility custody laws, divided into decision making and physical care. Both parents might have shared decision making, but one might have sole or the majority of physical custody. I don’t know how they did their custodial arrangement, or how that works with another state involved, but Dad having physical custody doesn’t mean he has sole legal custody, or that Mom is uninvolved. They may be sharing decision making. I think it’s reprehensible that the mother has been painted by TS as essentially an abandoner.

Yeah. I’m just talking about the CSI people.

They’ll almost certainly have someone there to secure the scene.

Occams Razor is not always right, because applying that theory we would be inclined to pick that GS just ran away. I think the biggest value of the theory is eliminating the ridiculous... like him being sold into sexual slavery.
