MOO, should be easy to do if she was carrying a cell phone. Problem is more accessing that info because cell phone companies generally need warrants
I have a feeling she didn't bring her phone. Might have felt couldn't be tracked without phone. MOO

Yes. If she did make that Google search, then it shows she was aware that cell phones can be tracked. It was clearly on her mind.

I was looking at the Co. Parks & Rec twitter for updates and I see that they posted some doorbell cam footage of a cougar prowling in front of a house. I forgot about wildlife playing a factor in this if he is out in the elements. Or, animal predation on a body
Yes this would be an issue. Co Springs is very near the mountain range so mountain lions, coyotes, smaller animals like fox and birds of prey

Do you guys have wolves too?
there were sightings north west but nobody is really sure how far they've made it south.

Not this far south. A rumor that there is a pack up north near Wyoming, but that’s it.

They won't be takin' no prisoners either!
Media is gonna be sorry about releasing that footage, and rightly so.

Sorry if this has been answered already, but does anyone know if these are the same investigators that worked on the Watts or Bereth case?
No. Watts was in Frederick which is hours north of Colorado Springs (and they did a great job - I'm still in awe).

So, is there word on whether she actually went to a doctor's office or to Petco?

If she didn't take her phone with her, at all, then I doubt she went to some really remote place, as I don't think she's that savvy or smart, nor is she really local.

I too am beginning to think that things went wrong on Sunday, which is why she focuses so heavily on convincing the reporter that her daughter will attest to Gannon coming back from the hike.

We had coyote warnings at my daughters school so it has been an issue. I'm north of Denver though. Springs is about a 1.5 hour drive but they are rampant and we have had a school lockdown due to them

I think, IMO, evidence was thrown into the water. I think he is elsewhere. JMO

So, what happens if Gannon is never found? LS, could come up with a new lie, that Gannon wanted a ride somewhere, she dropped him off. Is she off the hook if they don't have enough evidence to press any significant charges?

So many cases lately, have no body, and so, no charges.

As far as predators go - there are no wolves in this part of Colorado. Black bear attacks are very rare and nearly always occur in warmer months. The bears just aren't active right now. Mountain lion attacks are extremely rare, and the signs of such an attack would be hard to miss. It's plausible and the vast majority of attacks are on smaller stature people, including children. However, they've searched within the area that GS reasonably could've traveled on his own thoroughly enough that I doubt they could've missed evidence of something like that, especially with dogs and in snow. I don't want to get too graphic here.

In the photos posted of Gannon -- he looks very thin.
Wonder if step monster was depriving him of food when dad was away ?

There have been cases prosecuted without a body.
Don't lose hope just yet !

I don't think any animals (those on 4 legs and with fur) attacked him. I do worry about animal scavengers.

Omg I thought the same thing when I first saw him - food can be a form of abuse too I just cannot stand how these children are anything other than cherished - it still stuns next every single time

It would seem there'd be more of a scent and clothing fragments, right ?

I agree. If she is smart enough to put a post on a boy's phone. Then she's thinking tech savvy.......

Remember Chris Watts reaction to the neighbors surveillance footage? I wonder how the SM reacted when they showed her the footage of GS getting in her truck and not getting out?
